how to install a custom rom after rooting and installing cwm
u can read this? good... now head to development subforum and read many of threads there. especially the sticky one.
first thing I'd do is flash cwm from the development forum. from there you can flash new roms, themes and loads of other stuff.

google search: root-samsung-galaxy-ace-android-234-xxkph-gingerbread-firmware/
click on first link and follow the how to. sorry i cant post a link because im a new user.
be sure to have sim and sd card removed.
If you get stuck on the boot screen after flashing try pull out the battery and put it back in, then hold down middle + power button to boot the phone in recovery mode you want to 'wipe data/factory reset' and 'wipe cache partition'. navigate using vol up/down and middle button to select. Reboot.
Hope this works for you

1st do some research
2nd Rom Manager is useless to our device
Unless you're fixing permissions
3rd if you flashed touch CWM boot up into it
By holding power button volume up and down buttons at the same time
Search don't be lazy threads like this clutter the forums
And if someone has been nice to you or helped you out
Slap that thnx button!
Have a good day

Power phone off. Hold both volume buttons. Then while holding them, hold power button also. When the phone vibrates, let go of power button. When you see Samsung, let go of volume buttons.
Do some more research before you put stuff on your phone. You can mess it up by not reading first. Read much. Read often.

I have an SGS2, and I did a NANDROID backup and I saved the file to my PC. Currently its on Gingerbread nd rooted. I Backed up everything on the phone. Now, I'd like to flash the ROM here-->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194765
So, if I follow the steps here should I be good to go and have the ROM working? :
1) Download SensatioN
2) Put it on internal sd card(Phone Memory, copy it to the root folder)
3) Go into recovery mode (Vol+, Home and Powerbutton)
4) DO A FULL WIPE!!
-- wipe data/ factory reset
-- wipe cahe partition
-- advanced > wipe dalvik cache
-- mount and storage > format data/system/cache
5) Then flash Rom via recovery
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from sd card
-- Select the downloaded Custom Rom and flash it
6) Reboot and Im done?
So I dont need to use odin or anything, just flash from there? Let me know
Mate you just copied that straight from the thread. Why do you want our help when you have it all there for you? Of course you don't use Odin, is it mentioned there? I'm just trying to make a point, not being nasty. It's people like you who clog up the Q&A with pointless questions.

Hey I am done flashing, and it's booting up. I'll let you know, thanks again.
TheMadba's point was; you included the instructions for flashing that particular rom in your OP, why then ask for help flashing the rom ? It's not exactly rocket surgery I.E - follow whatever instructions for the particular rom you want to flash.
He also made another very good point about people clogging up the forum with ridiculous threads. This is one of those threads.

ok i did it but now im stuck on the activate menu ...so i cant go and change usb setting for droidx2 root 2012 to recognise the phone ... is there a way to skip the activate thing because im in canada and the call is directed to usa -_-
Turn off the phone. Hold volume down and then hold power until fastboot appears at the top of the screen. Use volume down to scroll to 'start android no bp' and press.volume up to select it.
Or starting on the top left corner of your screen press the 4 corners going clockwise.

just an fyi, if everyone can talk to me like im dumb this will go through alot quicker.
I have been running liquid smooth for a while and just wanted to try something different. I started downloading away and installing without much thought. Basically now my phone will not boot into anything. I can only get into revolutionary, and on one of the green lettered lines that appears it says "no image or wrong item"
Can someone give me a spoon feed on how to fix this so I can use my phone again. I removed all roms and radios on the SD card so I will be at the beginning.
You can start by posting this in the right area. Not in the dev section.

Seeing green lines flash across the hboot screen saying that is normal. Once it finishes showing those lines, follow these instructions...
From this screen (hboot):
Use volume key down to highlight the recovery option and then hit the power button.
Once in recovery, wipe data/factory reset 3x, clear data 1x. Then scroll to advanced and wipe dalvik cache 1x.
After that, install zip from SD card and navigate to and install a desired ROM.

I have a similar problem, but when i tried to do this from hboot the volume keys wont work and it automatically selects (im assuming fastboot?) and asks if i want to start update. Any ideas?

I just got past this on my phone. If you remove your sd card it shouldn't force you into fastboot. The only way I found was pushing the battery against the pins, holding the sd card in the slot but sticking out some. Hold volume down and power and get to recovery keeping the sd card partially out, then once in recovery put your battery in place without losing contact with the pins. You are now in recovery with access to your sd card, which hopefully has a working rom you can load.
I am at school without a micro sd card reader, but deleting any updates on your sd may stop the fastboot.
Simply remove the PG05IMG.zip (radio image) from the root of SD card and then it should boot to recovery no problem.
It's seeing the radio image file and won't get past the update yes/no screen because it is present on the card.
Rename or remove it and you should be good to go.

You should have a lot more functions and control over your phone, all of the features should be listed in the roms thread.

You have stock recovery, you need to Flash a custom one like clockworkmod to be able to take nandroid backups and flash roms.
If you are on cwm, then just choose the install zip from sd card option and browse for your zip..

if you boot your device into recovery mode (power + volume up), does it say CWM recovery 5.x.x.x?
if it does, then you have a custom kernel.
if not, flash a custom kernel. use rj's kernel if you have a physical home button or entropy's kernel if you have a capacitative home button.
If you really want to see a drastic difference difference, try cm 10 or ParanoidAndroid.

To flash any of these roms, just copy the appropriate zip to your internal storage and reboot into recovery.
Then:
1. Wipe Data/Factory reset
2. Wipe Cache
3. Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache
4. Install zip > from internal sd card
5. wait and enjoy.
