Does anyone know what this means or how I can avoid it. I get it quite often when I try to flash a zip.

This is in the wrong section... but I have also had that problem when I transfer files from my mac to my phone. What I did was download files using Google chrome instead of safari.
I don't know but you might get more response if you posted this in the q.a. forum and not in dev. Or even in the twrp thread.

Clear cache and dalvik cache and try it again.

yeah of course,......but ill tell ya something....compared to the way things were when these forums first started up....there hasnt been as much flaming on this kinda stuff or anywhere for that matter....Im lovin it LOL!!!!....good stuff guys
Just a side not once you get that error you have to reboot recovery. Don't know why its just the way it is. So like if you go into usb mode and copy another ROM over you will get the error again unless you reboot recovery. At least thats been my experience.
Fix it? Is it happening when you try to flash a ROM? Try pulling the battery and starting the phone up in recovery (power and volume down).

I like to help and if I don't know a question then I can get help or find the answer and learn more about this stuff...I have learned a lot by asking and reading...hopefully when I get a computer I can start making some cool roms and themes! I just rooted my phone and everything was fine. Now i cant get my phone in recovery it just reboots
Just re-download the recovery and re-install it should work...if it doesn't let me know..if it does then sweetness...also always remember to unchecked fastboot in settings if your going into recovery by powering off and the holding power+volume down

What ROM are you running? I remember reading Synergy was having that issue for awhile, but I haven't been on that ROM in a long time so not sure if they fixed it. There is a free app in the market named Quick Reboot that should fix your problem. Give that a try.

I just rooted my EVO 3D and I had to use the HTC bootloader unlock cause of new software... But how do you flash on this? And can you backup ROMS? This looks a lot different than working with original EVO

The TWRP recovery works allot nicer than the old recovery for the evo.

Yo, "that ****" will make the difference between you bricking your device and doing it right. Read the steps, because if you don't people won't be polite to you when you come back with problems.
I did read it bro, it says at the beginning "Step 1 - backup everything on your phone, nandroid backup"
that's what I'm not sure how to do yet, I haven't used it since about May and it looks different than the original Evo, so I'm completely lost!!! The menu has changed completely since I last used it...

What? It is just like any other recovery, go to "backup" from the first menu and backup. If you can't make it past that point in your own, maybe you shouldn't be attempting this.
And did you pm a mod to move this as it most certainly should not be in this section.

I haven't contacted anyone to move it yet cause I didn't know who to contact... I posted from the mobile app, it was on accident... but yeah on the evo it was different... I seen backup partition in the recovery, but I didn't see how to backup the rom specifically. like I said I haven't done this in MONTHS and I'm trying to remember/learn how to do what needs to be done, I'm sorry if I'm annoying anyone I just need to learn this

I did, I read quite a few things over and over, I figured it out too, I actually had to do exactly what I thought I had to do lol I was just trying to DOUBLE CHECK with someone just in case that's all. it really is basically the same as old nandroid just says different stuff. Thanks anyway tho

Yeah... please don't. Usually it just backfires because no one will want to help you after being tricked in to clicking on your thread. Plus it's a very good way to pick up an infraction and possibly have your ability to post restricted or get yourself banned.
The Q&A section is there to help keep things organized and uncluttered. The search button would probably be much faster though.

You are correct though, SteelH's threads are closed b/c that is his choice 100% and he's closing them as they have that power over their own threads.
We should all be thankful that he chooses to still do those things as those tweaks he posts are great learning tools for new people looking to get into things over time.

I'm running Thunderstick BareBack again, but never had this problem before.
The ROM runs just fine, but when I put my phone in **** mode, it just freezes up and doesn't want to do anything.
Anyone else ever had this problem?

If ONLY you knew how pissed I was with my phone at the time of me writing this.
Once I actually noticed what auto correct had done, every bit of that anger turned into laughter.
I believe that I laughed about it for 15-20 minutes, but that's because only I understood how frustrated and serious I was at the time.
BTW: I hope no one ever puts their phone in **** mode. If you do, be advised that your phone will be a **** to you.
