[Q] Android market - Legend Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hy. I'm having a problem with the market. it says starting download but it remains like this. frome other site's it's downloading but not from market.
i've tried the solution frome market. clear data and chace and i'm not able to conect to google talk. it says eror conecting with server, will retry.
can you help me pls.

I had this problem yesterday.
Try this in Terminal Emulator:
mkdir /mnt/sdcard/market-download-cache
su
cd /cache
mv download download.bak
ln -s /mnt/sdcard/market-download-cache download
ls -ahl
You must have root. And Terminal Emulator is an app from the Market, if you don't have it, try sideloading it by finding an .apk from the internet. I don't know of any other way, but there should be a better solution if you can't find it.

finaly found a solution.
Setings/ aplication/manage aplication/all
there navigate to gmail and to market and clear data.
when you're asket to ad an acount instead of gmai.com use googlemail.com
this is the ony metod that worket on my legend

Market Enabler on Tattoo

Hi guys,
I wanted to get access to the US-market (as I'm from Germany...) to get my hands on the facebook, amazon or eBay app.
Thus I rooted my Tattoo (thanks to Coburn64 for his guide) and installed the app Market Enabler 3.0.8.
I tried to switch to another carrier with the app, but I only got "Houston, we've got a problem" instead of the success dialog i was hoping for.
Has anyone got that app to work properly on the Tattoo?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
It's working fine for me. I cannot see many apps though.
So I'm using android emulator, and I can see and download everything from market. It is the best solution.
What Android emulator do you use?
If I install the app on the emulater of my Android SDK I can't use the Android market place, can I?
Edit: Tested it just now and it doesn't work. I haven't rooted the emulated phone but... I hardly think that's necessary, is it?
I use 1.6. I just create an sdcard(google it and you will find how) and select the image file of this sdcard when I creaded the AVD. After that start the AVD, wait android to load, open market app, sign up and download first astro file manager. After that, when you want to install a file to tattoo, download it from market, fire up astro file manager, menu->tools->application manager/backup, select the file you want and press backup. Then go to sdcard/backups/apps to see if is there. If yes, start a dos command prompt, cd to drive and directory in which is the tools folder of SDK (eg cd d:\adroid-SDK\tools)
and write the command adb pull (eg: adb pull /sdcard/backups/apps/com.android.myapp.apk D:\programs\apps)
I have the same problem, great succes in rooting the phone, but i´m not able to get Market Enabler to do what it should.
Any ideas?

I created the SD card, fine. But I'm still quite clueless where or how to get the market app. It's not availible on the SD card when I create it.
Did you create the SD card from the image of a real Android phone or did you just use the AVD for that, like I just tried? If you created it from a real phone, how did you manage to do that?
Market was there when I run the emulator image.
But I think you can install it via adb. You need to download it and push it to emulator with command adb push path\to\market.apk /sdcard and then install it on emulator. If your device is rooted you can find and copy to sdcard, the apk package by root explorer. After transfer the package to pc, start the emulator, open a command prompt, cd to android SDK tools directrory(you can put market apk package file there too) and run the adb push command
At long last, I (or rather we - I had help from a friend) managed to get access to the Android market of US.
BUT we didn't even need the Market Enabler for that. By googling for "Vending.apk" (the name of the market app) I found the first link to be of help. I can't paste it here cause I'm new to this forum, but it was the blog of someone called Kumar Bibek.
The way it was described on that blog didn't completely work, but after following the comments we finally had success.
Thanks for your help.
Sounds good that you were able to get access to US market!
I have been trying to find the link (blog) you are talking about, with no luck. Can you describe it a little better where i can find the blog
Kroman
If you google for "Android market on emulator" you should find some link to tech-droid whatever.
I'll try to pass you the link via PM, maybe that'll work.
can you explain the way u enabled usa market here cause i can't ?
thanx
Have you already visited the blog I mentioned in my post? In the comments there is some guy who has successfully created an AVD that can easily connect to the US-Market. Just download his AVD from the link he posted there and adjust the path in the .ini-file to the one you store the data at.
Edit 1:
Let's see if I have the permission to post the link by now:

Edit 2:
Fine, it works!

[Q] Help - Need to remove MCR Scripts App that was installed with lagfix

So I have to send my phone in to Tmo - I'm having accelerometer issues so they're sending me a new one. I've unrooted and have removed everything else but I can't remove the MCR SCRIPTS that was installed when doing the lag fix. Can you guys help? Thanks!
solution
I had the same problem, used one click root program to root my vibrant again. Then I downloaded "super manager" from the market. opened super manager went to apk, scrolled to the bottom found mcr scripts destonation ( system/app/ase_mcr_r25.apk) then I downloaded "terminal emulator" from the market. Open terminal emulator and type;
$su
# rm -r /system/app/ase_mcr_r25.apk
This removed it for me, make sure you verify the location on your phone. I'm not sure if it would be the same for you.
hope this helps

[Q] [HCDR ROM 1.7] Market update

Hi,

Dude, hey! I ran into same problem.
Here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723255&page=66
read last messages in the thread, especially my posts
Hey !
Thanks for you answer. I have already read this posts but it's not work for me !
If you have successfully fix this problem please leave me the procedure and shell command.
Follow the URL and download original market:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/wrw9tdzhveoqvgh/Vendingtrue.apk
Then reboot your phone to recovery.
Start cmd in windows.
Go to C:\rtattoo folder (i presume u use 1-click root-rec too).
If necessary mount your phone's system partition as RW:
Code:
adb shell mount -o remount,rw system
And the main command u have to run here is:
Code:
adb push Vendingtrue.apk /system/app/Vending.apk
note: of course it's implied that Vendingtrue.apk should be in the same directory as adb or locate it in a different way if u want.
If push command executes successfully just restart your phone, if not - then, naturally, do some work around. U may even try running it under loaded Android, it may do the trick too (for example, once when i tried installing hosts file it worked).
The main idea, as u might have already guessed , is to replace Vending.apk. Then it will autoupdate itself at the first time u launch it.
Hope it helps, good luck, dude!
I have try this procedure when Android running but it was impossible to push the new Vending.apk even with the system partition mounted.
But in Recovery mode I could push the new apk.
But when I launch the market it not auto update and when I run
Code:
adb pull /system/app/Vending.apk
The Vending.apk size is 1158ko, as the vendingtrue.apk size is 1146ko.
So I conclude that the replacement was not performed.
Have you got a solution ?
Thanks a lot
Dude !
I retry and it's work !
My system partition was not mount correctly.
I launched the following command with my tattoo in recovery mode :
Code:
adb shell
mount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system -o rw
ctrl+c (or exit)
adb push Vendingtrue.apk /system/app/Vending.apk
I reboot my tattoo and launch :
Code:
adb pull /system/app/Vending.apk
The size is 1146ko (YES my APK has successfully replace).
I ran the market, 5 minute after, it was up to date.
thank you very much for your precious help !
the new market is rubbish...too bug...too slow...get the old market...I have download the old market I can ensure you it's better than new

[Q] Double Power D7016 7"

I just bought this tablet today, and I wish to root it to run the Android OS 4.3 or higher. It won't let me play Magic 2014 and I can't successfully download the Google Play Store. Does anyone know anything about this who can help me? Would the rooting process be similar to other Double Powers?
Also just picked up a few of these for the kids. Noticed that it does not have google play or log in services. will have to push the apk and libs to the tablet after root has been granted

I just got the same tablet for the kids, super cheap. I used kingo-android Root (just google "kingo android root cnet") it's super easy!:good:
Ah, damn it, I can help, but I can't post hyperlinks. I'll see what I can do. If this is hard to read, I hope some non-rookie will quote me and fix the links in the quote.
I picked one of these up on Black Friday for less than 50 bucks. Good times. It was a bear getting the Play Store not to crash every session. For quite a while I struggled with the Play Store seeming to run OK for a minute, then "Unfortunately Play Store has stopped" and back to the home screen. Clearing the cache and making sure the Download service was started didn't help. But now things are looking up.
I'm still running Android 4.2.2, which is what the tablet came with. I'm afraid I can't help you with finding a 4.3 rom.
Anyway, mgordon's suggestion of Kingo Root works as well as any. You can also use its bundled adb.exe to push the Play Store onto your tablet. To install a working Play Store, after rooting, follow these steps:
Get this Play Store APK: triple-w dot androidfilehost dot com /?fid=23203820527945029 (found [here](triple-w dot androidpolice dot com /2013/11/01/download-latest-google-play-store-4-4-22/#download))
Go to your Start Menu --> All Programs --> Accessories, and right-click on Command Prompt and choose "Run as Administrator."
In the command prompt window, navigate to adb supplied by Kingo Root. (cd "\Program Files (x86)\Kingo Android ROOT\tools") then continue with the following additional commands.
adb push \users\yourusername\Downloads\com.android.vending-4.4.22.apk /system/app/com.android.vending-4.4.22.apk
adb shell chmod 755 /system/app/com.android.vending-4.4.22.apk
adb reboot
Good luck!
I tried using the Kingo ROOT app, but mine just wont root. Ive rum it close to a dozen times now. Any suggestions? Thanks!
And calraith, thanks for the walk through on getting google play to work. It works great!

I attempted three or four various methods of rooting before successfully rooting with Kingo. It could've been that Kingo wouldn't have been successful for me without the filesystem modifications made by other tools -- I'm not sure, and don't really feel like restoring to find out.
Maybe try rooting with sf.net/projects/rootandroid ; and after reboot if your apps fail to gain root privileges, use Kingo to remove and restore root. See if that helps.

I will give that a try. Thanks!
Here's another useful hack. You know /sdcard points to the rather scant internal sdcard. Once you install a few apps there's little room left for music, movies, etc. You can put some of your media on an external sdcard mounted at /mnt/extsd, but some apps expect their media content to be accessible within /sdcard -- camera apps and FireTaps, for example.
It'd be nice if you could have /sdcard/DCIM and /sdcard/FireTaps as symlinks from true directories on /mnt/extsd. Unfortunately since sdcards use a fat32 filesystem, symlinks aren't supported. You can, however, use mount bindings to accomplish the same sort of thing. Mount is a kernel thing rather than a filesystem thing.
After you get your tablet rooted, you can install and use "Universal init.d" from the Play Store to execute user-made startup scripts. I wrote the following script to bind all the directories from my external sd to my internal. I saved it as /system/etc/init.d/99extbind (using ES File Explorer with root permission) and did chmod 700 (from a JS Terminal console and su for root). Any directory I want to move from the internal sd to the external, now i just move it via cut & paste then reboot. After reboot, the contents of the directory are accessible from both directory trees, but physically only use space on the external card.
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
bind_to_sdcard() {
d=$*
d2=/mnt/sdcard/${d##*/}
[ ! -d "$d2" ] && mkdir "$d2"
mount -o bind "$d" "$d2"
}
# purging empty directories
for d in /mnt/sdcard/.*; do [ -d "$d" ] && rmdir "$d" 2>/dev/null; done
for d in /mnt/sdcard/*; do [ -d "$d" ] && rmdir "$d" 2>/dev/null; done
# binding directories from external sd on internal sd
for d in /mnt/extsd/.*; do [ -d "$d" ] && bind_to_sdcard $d; done
for d in /mnt/extsd/*; do [ -d "$d" ] && bind_to_sdcard $d; done
exit 0
Edit: If you attach your tablet to a PC via USB and enable USB storage, the tablet will not be able to make the internal sdcard available to the PC. I'm guessing this is because when the tablet attempts to umount /mnt/sdcard the device is busy with other child mounts and can't be umounted. The internal sdcard is still accessible to ES File Explorer and similar while not plugged into a PC, though. I recommend copious backups just in case calamity strikes, in any case.
Edit 2: After ejecting from the PC, SwiftKey complained about not being able to read the sdcard, and predictions and swiping were unavailable. A reboot fixed it.
So far for me, the benefits outweigh the problems. I've now got over a gig of FireTaps songs, 250 megs of books, and 500+ megs of application data available in /sdcard where before i was limited to about 1.3 gigs.

More help with Google Play please...
Hello everyone I have the DOPO D7020 and am trying to install Google Play per the instructions given. I installed Kingo Root and have successfully rooted the device. I downloaded the play store APK to my desktop. I am running the command prompt as administrator but this is where I get stuck. When I follow the directions and enter the commands or even copy and paste the commands to the command prompt it says "....is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable function or batch file." Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

You need to hold down shift and right click on the adb folder, you can't just run the adb commands from any old command prompt, not without setting environment variables, Windows gets cranky about that stuff.
EDIT: Shift, right click, and select "Open Command Window here"

So I scored a couple of these from amazon, planned on giving one to my mother for Christmas, but before that, I had to have one for myself to see what it was about. I actually used Vroot as my root solution. I was able to use the method above to get google play working, so big win there, now if I could only get TiBu to write to the external SD

Super Backup (com.idea.backup.smscontacts) will let you specify the backup path. Or you could use my mount -o bind trick in comment #8.

I actually figured it out late last night. I had the SD card formatted in Fat32, things like ES File Manager and Root Explorer could read and write to it just fine, I formatted the card with exFat and TiBu had no problem writing to it.
