[Q] Help-Errors, Not Normal Behavior - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been overloaded with so much information here on XDA, I'm having a huge issue being able to follow the tons and tons of steps I've seen in the forums.
The issue I am having,
Pressing the the camera and power buttons don't bring up fastboot options
it only brings a screen with a list of tests
If I hold down the Vol.Down&power buttons, it boots with:
"DT is in FASTBOOT_MODE"
From here my Device Manager (Win 7) shows:
ADB Interface-
Android Sooner Single ADB Interface
I've tried to type in the commands on CMD
I get nowhere after typing in the Vendor ID: Expample:0x413c?
says not found or something like wrong command
I am at worlds end, I don't want to give up trying to flash a new rom on here.
Again I seriously am lost and I can't say I haven't Searched because I have!
PLEASE HELP!!!!

My take on modding the Streak is here and a howto on using Streakmod recovery.

It sounds like the Streak has been put into native engineering mode. Does your screen look similar to the following video?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vbl8oI5CQts

Thank you, I will read up on your links here. I hit the thanks too.
BTW I have some pictures of what I am seeing and hopefully the link will assist me greatly.
Does it matter that the Dell Streak is an Engineering Model? lol sorry if I didn't mention this before...Just found out.

It makes a huge difference. Read this thread. The TL;DR version: before bricking his unit, the user rooted the phone but could not install any ROMs.

Engineering models are in general not compatable with retail roms. If it stopped booting it might be a full brick now.

Which would be rather tragic. While I know I wouldn't be able to update an Engineering sample, I wouldn't want to anyway. I'd love to have one simply because they're scarce.

If it wasnt for the fact it was bricked and the rom nuked I would have asked for details of the pre-installed rom as eng streaks are exceedingly rare in working condition now seeing as the streak is (in phone years) very old.
Unless he finds a magic way to make it boot again it's likely completely worthless now. The amount of work to find out why it differs from retails streaks and porting a rom over would be much greater then buying another streak/phone

Well damn, I'm glad that I still have it but I Never said it was bricked.
Actually,
It is fully functional with everything original from the the engineering desk with all the Dev apps!!!!
Here's the link to the pictures I took today, disregard the date and time on the main screen of the dell streak as it is wrong.

Seems I am going to be helping you guys instead lol
It's all good, XDA has been great in providing so much help with nothing back from me, so whatever I can do, let me know!

I've accidently assisted in helping brick a few eng s5's before trying to flash a retail rom on them.
Good thing you didnt go though with (or at least get far enough) bricking it
Would you be willing to dump the rom? While you cant run any custom rec on it, you could use an older root tool (or newer one if it works) and root and manually dump it.
Just like previously stated working eng s5's are really rare.
I dont recall if i have that rom, I will check later today

Tears...
oh well, I was really hoping on gutting it inside out.
Don't mind dumping the rom but there has to be some way to push the file to the device and have it install automatically because there are issues with the D.S.
I'm sure you know this but this device is not a stable model, it's really sensitive and I wouldn't be surprised if it had split personalities
There are Errors!
We're talking- app errors and os errors. I got the streak like this and this is why I wanted to flash it.
I've tried installing apk's to the device and I get an error "No activity found to handle intent"?
This is on every file I try too open using the file explorer.
Either way let me know and we'll see what happens...

Wouldnt be surprised if the rom was feature incomplete. It may very well not have a complete set of frameworks/stuff since it's not ment for general use.

Does sound like the situation here....
Wonder if there's a way to even implement a fix or patch to address that issue...

If it was true it would require working on the code, which is what happened towards a release rom.
As an aside I checked and I do not have this rom either. Unless you're willing to spend years working on getting your eng s5 to work it's a waste of time.
As the retail streaks arnt even fully cracked when it comes building it from source, then multiply that by the fact eng ones are different and noone else owns one, much less would be willing to port a rom to it.
There might possibly be a simplier explanition in the rom, but without all the details it's somewhat hard to call

Like I said before, if you explain to me how to do a dump then I'm sure we can find out but I'm in no way savvy to software coding/writing...I wonder if a call to them would help? lol (if only it was that easy)

You will first need to root your device, i would recommend using one designed for 1.5/1.6 like universal androot or something for that era

slight problem, did you notice the apps in the link?
there's no Market app, I also mentioned that I get errors when trying to install from sd....
Unless there is someway to cmd or adb into it and manually push it then I'm SOL

Well they wouldnt be available on the market anyway, you would have to sideload it manually even on a normal functioning device.
if you have adb set up it's: 'adb install <path to apk>'.

Thanks for the info but unless you can spell it out for me, adb is my weekness.

I tried to look up ways to put that command in adb and have gotten no where. I'm putting this device up for sale...I'll see if it sells.

[Q] A great problem of problems.. Seriously stumped. Would appreciate any help.

First off, I want to thank the wonderful amount of knowledge and help here at XDA! Not to be impolite to anyone else, but through all my searching, I have yet to find anything like this forum (and I come from a number of forums); but none have had quite the caliber of kind, knowledgeable, and often humorous: people. So thank you all. Also, another disclaimer is that I've only been on Android for about a month and half, so please bear with me as I might (and probably) misuse vernacular and/or might not completely understand some of the technical lingo' (at least the first time through, but I have spent much time here reading through help guides and threads).
Alright, here's the problem: I cannot get a computer to recognize the Vibrant. Installed all the drivers I have found thus far, followed a number of guides from here at xda, and have tried a number of different computers (two Win7 machines, a Vista, and even two XP machines); all of which recognize my personal Vibrant without a hick-up. Here is perhaps the biggest, and main, problem: the computers/odin won't even recognize it in Download Mode. That is what is stumping me..
If you do not care to know about how I got to where I am, please jump to the 'Question:' part.
Here is the back-story:
I bought a used Samsung Vibrant that came with the JI6 build. This was the second vibrant I had purchased as it was for my sister; and for the most part (other than it being horribly slow on the 'stock' build) it was running, and perfectly functioning.
However, I did notice that it was not able to connect it to a computer; usb debugging, mounting sd, and all the guides I found for troubleshooting just didn't seem to do the trick. Still no connection to the pc. I eventually educated myself on Download and Recovery mode, both of which I could execute without really any problems.
But since I wanted to run a faster OS (And I had already successfully flashed my personal Vibrant to Froyo (Build 21VE) (Here)) I decided to flash my sister's vibrant as well. And since I was unable to connect via usb to use odin to flash to the JFD build (per highly suggested here on xda), I used a nandroid image to flash the stock JFD build from Samsung (I can't find the link at the moment, but it was here from the xda forum). All went well, I was on JFD. I then used the above link to flash the Froyo21VE build via clockwordMod; again, it went smoothly. Only one problem persisted at this point: the wifi would not work.
My brother had experienced a similar issue with his Vibrant's wifi a few weeks previous, but had resolved it by flashing a different Froyo build. Naturally I thought I might do the same. This is where things went South.. Perhaps I was multi-tasking too much at the time, or possibly I just wasn't paying attention, but after a quick google search I found this Froyo build here on xda: [ROM] Froyo (RS)JP5 - "K9" [25/11/2010]. Moved it onto the internal sd card; flashed via clockworkMod; and then it froze on its boot-up after installation. Not cool..
Unfortunately, I was not aware that the build was for the Galaxy S i9000 rather than a Vibrant branded Galaxy; once realized though, my gut sank.. As now I am wondering if I completely tanked this Vibrant; or perhaps it had a problem from the bigging in that the usb wasn't connecting?
Question:
First and foremost, is there an 'advanced' way of connecting via usb from a computer, or some other way of doing it? I have tried numerous usb cables (as I've read a couple different people were having success with that) on several different computers (all of which, though, seem to be working perfectly on my personal vibrant, just not this one). Or is there a special driver that allows for just the 'Download Mode' on the Vibrant to communicate to the pc? But from my understanding, it seems as though the 'download mode' is pretty much as basic as you can get, am I correct in that assumption? Additionally, would using the android sdk help at all? (Or again, doesn't it have to be able to be recognized from the computer first?)
And lastly, just in case I thought it wasn't complex, when I had a functioning OS on the Vibrant: when I plugged in the usb, the Vibrant would show that it recognizes the pc; I even could 'mount the sd', but the computer still wouldn't recognize it apart from a few times that it would show it as 'unknown device' and would not seem to load any drivers; and I was having difficulty locating the device in Device Manager. (But that only seemed to work when I had a functioning OS, now that it only can go into ClockworkMod or Download Mode, I have yet for the computer to acknowledge its presence)
Alright, there it is. Please let me know if I missed something, or if more information would be helpful. Again, I want to thank anyone who would be able to help me out, or give suggestions. I really am at a loss for ideas; and the past week of analyzation is hardly showing any signs of improvement.
Thanks for taking the time to read.
EDIT: it occurred to me that I didn't mention that I am unable to load any *.zip files while in ClockworkMod (thus being able to flash a different build). It continually gives a 'No File Found' or Error/Wrong command. I believe that was caused by the i9000 firmware messing up the file system on the Internal_sd, does that seem logical?
Have you installed kies from samsung? I tried installing just the drivers on my win 7 pc and they wouldn't take either. I then downloaded kies and installed and it seemed to properly install the needed drivers.
Sent from my Axura injected voodoo possessed Vibrant.
I believe I have installed it twice now, but I will try again. Thanks for the suggestion, I'm pretty much all ears at this point.
EDIT: Well I installed the Samsung Kies mini Apllication and it did its update thing and now I have v1.0.0.10104_1. Doesn't appear to have helped the drivers out..
Question: would anyone think that this particular Vibrant has a defective usb port? I realize that's a long-shot, as well as I would definitely not like hearing that.. but any thoughts?

It appears that you have a defective USB port on the phone.
Do you have an access to a Linux box? If a current linux distro cannot see your phone via USB it will confirm the DOA USB port on the Vibrant.
Thanks for the reply lqaddict, although it's somewhat sad to hear.. Forgive my ignorance, but by 'Linux Box' you are referring to a Linux machine, correct? If so, then I do not have access to one. Again, forgive me for not knowing, but would running linux (possibly via a bootable Linux cd) on a computer be equivalent?
Since I purchased it used (through Craigslist about three weeks ago (which he said he had purchased two weeks previous)) do you think I might be able to retrieve the receipt from the original owner and perhaps Samsung would be able to help with some sort of warranty?
Thanks again for your response.
EDIT: Well I am running Live CD of Ubuntu 10.10 on another one of my pc's, however, I'm not quite sure I know how to 'check' to see if usb port is properly functioning (sorry I'm not very familiar with Linux, but I imagine I will become increasingly more accustomed to it in the near future). Any ideas for trying out connectivity on Linux?

When you connect your phone via USB, does a USB connected symbol show up on your phone? Does the battery start charging?
You can issue the following command in the terminal window - should be in Applications->Accessories on Ubuntu (it resembles MS-DOS window under Windows OS)
Code:
lsusb
If the Samsung device shows up the USB port on your phone should be working, if however it is not showing up you might have a bigger problem with your phone
Thanks again lqaddict, I'll give it a try..
EDIT: Alright, to answer your first question: yes when I plugged it in while off, it does give the battery charging icon, as well as it does give juice to the battery.
Additionally, I ran the suggested "lsusb" in the Linux Terminal while the Vibrant was in Download Mode, and I didn't seem to get too much in the way of interest of the Vibrant except this line:
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Would that possibly be the Vibrant? Does "Linux Foundation" refer to a Linux device? Then again, I just ran it another time without the Vibrant plugged in, and it yielded the same results.. So, most likely.. dead usb port?? Or perhaps is this just a weird phenomena? Thanks again, for all the suggestions and comments; hopefully I'll be able to one day return the favours to others here on xda.
Sorry, looks like you have a faulty usb port on your phone

Thanks for helping troubleshoot that, however unfortunate it was to hear... Perhaps one last question though, as I would like to make sure I 'cover my basis', so to speak, would anyone have suggestions as to what to do when I talk to Samsung? Or would anyone know what the procedure is like; I have dealt with a faulty iPone 3gs before and basically all I did was wait for the replacement in the mail, and ship the faulty one in the same packaging. I realize I will need to contact them, but would anyone know what information they might need from me? (as in would it be a problem that I might not have an original receipt? (I contacted the seller about that, and have yet to hear back))
Simply put, while I have had Samsung products in the past (and have been for the most part very satisfied with said products); I would, however, like to make sure I don't mess something up within the warranty process for the Vibrant (at least in consideration that I wasn't the first purchaser; then again, I would hope that they would cover the 'basic' quality issues of their products for at least the normal 90 days.. but what do I know..).
Whatever the case my be, I greatly appreciate the help I've received here; if for nothing else, perhaps it will be useful in someone else's mishaps in their Android journey. Thanks again, and I will be exceedingly grateful for any further suggestions on the matter.

Contact Samsung what have you got to lose? The phone comes with 1 year manufacturer warranty, and it has been on the market since mid July 2010, so it is not even 6 month old.
Yea, I don't mean to be too non-committal, I just don't want to mess up a warranty; if that makes any sense. And hopefully the ~210 people who have viewed this thread thus far will find a conclusion of the situation somewhat helpful. I'll update this thread once some of the dust settles.. I'm most definitely a fan of xda! Thanks for all the help everyone!
EDIT: Contacted Samsung, and after listening to the 'did you check this list' for about five minutes, I received a free shipping label and they said it was covered by the 'repair warranty'. I'm optimistic that something good will come of it...
EDIT_2:
Well, what do you know, just got the package/phone a little under an hour ago. First of all, compliments to Samsung! Fantastic communication and customer service! I really thought that the Vibrant was unrecoverable and that I would most likely have to pay for a new one; but I was wrong! Opened the sealed package with the original Vibrant (I knew it was mine since I had already but a BestSkinsEver skin on it) and plugged it into the computer at, Wohla!, Odin recognized, Windows/drivers recognized, and I'm up and rolling!
Thank you once again everyone for the comments and helpful input! And know that Samsung rocks! (I won't be going back with apple products anytime soon..)

Screwed Noob

So I don't know ****. Yeah I said it, don't run away though. I'm still reading tons of information on the forum and you guys are awesome and I can't believe I never did this sooner!
I really wish I could have started from a stock phone but that was a great deal to me, and this is how things are.
The situation:
I bought a MINT Atrix 4 for $125. Great. Well the phone already has what the guy called "Jelly bean" installed which is cm10 if I understand correctly (the phone wont be activated till next week).
The problem:
He said "DO NOT try to record a video. The camera works, just not the video recorder. He also says WiFi doesn't work and DO NOT touch that either. Now that's a problem.
Phone specs:
Android version 4.1.1
baseband version N_01.77.37p
kernal 2.3.32.59-mb860-cm9-g89b8854
cm mod version 10-20120729-UNOFFICIAL-olympus
yada yada
If any specific threads can help besides the Nooby and FAQ threads I would appreciate that as well. The more information the more comfortable I will be with the phone.
I wouldn't call a broken phone mint. If wifi doesn't work, its likely that bluetooth doesn't either and if that's the case, you got screwed as the only way to repair it is to send to motorola. Which since you're not the original owner means you have to pay for the repair. I'd return it if he didn't disclose the broken wifi. Good luck
Try flashing a new radio and rom

It wasn't an eBay purchase so returning it isn't an option. Besides, I never said bluetooth doesn't work. From what I read, when both are not working its hardware and software if only one (most of the time).
Regardless, thank you for your worthless opinion and lack of help.

You're right you didn't say bluetooth wasn't working. Its just a known error around the forums. Really no need to snap at me or get defensive. I was not in any way belittling you so I dont appreciate your attitude from a self proclaimed NOOB. That being said, I'm over it and I agree with the other post saying to try another rom. Is it joker or epinter cm10 that its on? (Those right now are the active developers of cm10 for the atrix) If its either of those, read thru their developer posts and see if wifi not working is a known issue.
Your initial post definitely came off as rude. I think I have an idea on what to do but I'm going to do a little more research before I dive in. Thanks for real this time.
So I have tried downloading different cm10 files, a cm9 file, and gapps. When I'm in my recovery and try to install from the sd card, they wont load
(bad)
Installation aborted.
What should I try now guys? Am I damaging the files? I downloaded from jokersax's site (firefox)>open containing folder and drag to F: (I tried E: but I guess that's the phones internal?)

Really need to start recovering the phone not throwing roms at it till its fixed. Atrix is an odd ball when you get tied up in partitions and file locations. My suggestion would be to checkout fruitcake and start from there . There are more risky ways of getting out of that rut by try the easy stuff first. Phone needs a clean start and all new files. Cm10 has some issues depending on the logic board revision you have. Before you ask the only way to tell is to physically compare one logic board to another and there are very subtle difference. I only stumbled across this by accident during some full tear downs . I usually judge by symptom then treat them accordingly .
Like I stated above fruitcake is my recommend and I have used it numerous times with trouble phones that need a clean start.

[Q] Q/Help please read and dont be rude

Hello everyone!
It is obvious I did something REALLY wrong when experimenting with my Atrix 4g, and I would like to know if anyone here is willing to offer some guidance.
I must confess I am not VERY knowledgeable regarding Android phones (I have done it in the past with HTC’s running windows, so it’s been quite a while since then, but definitely similar to androids), BUT I learn VERY quickly and I know how to follow instructions (98% of the time)
So I think I might’ve soft brick it, and perhaps deleted files I should not. Anyway, also I would like to point that if I am NOT in the right thread, inform me where is the right place… in order to keep on going with my posts.
Once senior members/moderators consider this is the right spot for me, I will describe with further details what I have done.
I just can tell you, everything started without upgrades nor flashing the handset or anything alike… suddenly wifi and bluethooth stopped working. And since I could not pair it with my computer even after trying to use the USB cable, (I don’t allow my google account to handle my contacts) I decided to indulge myself and buy a new phone… and I bought a Moto RAZR but I like my Atrix and I want it working again
If you think you can help, or you are willing to help, feel free to ask what I have done, the steps I have followed and the threads I have revised. I have a little log of the things I have worked with and I know I have missed, surely, few important steps.
Thank you in advance for reading
Wow... This is got to be the longest list of disclaimers and precursors to an actual post EVER, lol.
You're asking a question. This is the Q&A section. You're good. Proceed at will.
For future reference, this kind of lenghty introduction and waiting for approval is hardly necessary. Just asj the question, the mods will move it if necessary, and you will only get lashed out at if the question is really trivial (so the solution can easily be googled) or has been answered enough times already (so the solution can easily be found by using the XDA forum search). Your question does kinda sorta fall into the second category, but since you're new here (and such a scardycat), let's let this one pass.
Based on your (very minimal) info, it kinda seems you have that dreaded problem where the wifi/bluetooth chip just dies all of a sudden... Unfortunately if that's the case, there is no known solution as that is most likely a hardware failure.
Yoy might want to go check some other threads (I'm on the phone so can't look for them now), some people have had limited success in dealing with this by applying pressure at certain points in the phone, usually by sliding a piece of thin plastic strip such as an old credit card.
You might however also want to describe your problem further, because it might not actually be this...

Im sorry, if my disclaimer was a little too lengthy, but I detest to intrude in areas where I am not supposed to be and, even worst I dislike to be told "you are not in the right area" makes me feel moron... but thanks for the support... following you will find a detailed description of what I have done and my results
Motorola Atrix 4G MB860 from AT&T unlocked for other markets
handset suddenly stop working wifi/bluetooth
actions taken and results:
1: hard reset
wiped out all information contained in the handset but it DID NOT made the wifi/BT antenna work
2: apparatus left for aprox 8 hours without battery, then wifi/BT antenna seemed to be operative, at least for 8 hours, tuned it off and on...displayed error message.
3: after consulting several threads posted in this very same website and in this area... no information helpful was found, other than flashing a newer ROM.
4: second hard reset using, tried the HR found in settings... unsuccessfully, handset rebooted with everything in it as if I didn't hard reset it
5: third hard reset: using power button and volume button (for one strange reason I have to press not only the volume down button, but both, in order to start the RSD protocol) but it does not move beyond that point, so after some research.. I found out it has been softbricked, handset operative, but the aforementioned issues still going on.

I found I could flash a newer ROM, specific for my equipment, downloaded it and followed the instructions provided in the threads
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975893
followed the instructions, et cetera, deleted cache and ran the command fastboot erase system -w and, tried to flash the .zip file, handset recognised it, however displayed an error saying "no android info.txt" there were 3 messages total, all of them displaying the same file extension .TXT
I guess thats where I messed up big time... so whensoever you have a chance to reply let me know what could have been wrong..and pelase, let other geniuses out there in the forum whats going on and if they are willing to help me in this.
I will try to keep a concise log of the do's and dont's and what to do in case someone else share the same problem
thank you in advance to the XDA delopers team
So if I got it right, your phone is SIM unlocked but not bootloader-unlocked? Does it have "Unlocked" in the top left of the screen when booting?
If it does, I'd recommend installing MROM (not MROM-ICS as you suggested because that is a testing ROM). If the bt/wifi error happens there as well, then it is most likely a hardware failure and no software will help. In that case, I'd suggest trying a hardware method as described here.
If it doesn't, then I guess I'd try flashing a full SBF. Be warned however that flashing SBFs is potentially very dangerous, so be sure to read all the guides and select a SBF that is appropriate for your device (based on the OS version it had installed previously).

heheheh thats the one I downloaded and tried to flash.. unless i have picked the wrong file.. please let me know which is the one I have to download and I will try to install it... there are few options.. I just want to make sure I pick the right one
thank you!
There aren't actually many options. Just download the latest ROM package (not the update) and the gapps package. Flash ROM then gapps. That is all.
Thanx
I havent had a chance to follow up my work with the phone...
but anyway I have to thank you for all the attention and help
I will resume my work on it this coming days
and I will keep you posted on whats going on

[Q] Moto Xoom (WiFi) - MoneyPak Infection

Hey XDA, I've been a long time "user" of the forums yet I've never made a post on here until now. So I've got a Moto Xoom that is seriously hurting, and I feel like I've got myself painted into a corner with it. Before I blow it away and flash it with the stock ROM or a custom one, I wanted to make sure I've exhausted every last option to remove the MoneyPak ransomeware on the device.
Here is a link to techreport forums where I made a post about this issue to save you the trouble of me explaining it all again.
techreport.moc/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=93799&p=1205113#p1205113 (change it to .com obviously, apparently without 10 posts I can't post links)
Any help with gaining access would be appreciated. I was hoping to simply just have ADB access to run this command...
Code:
adb uninstall com.adobe.flashplugin
I figured this will just remove flash all together and the MoneyPak malware can't run, and it wont be gotten again . As it stands right now as soon as I load into the OS moneypak takes over the screen and I can't do anything, so I'm unable to enable debugging mode or any other software settings.
Thanks in advance!
Your only option would be to boot up in Safe Mode. This disables all 3rd party apps. The launcher will crash continually and pretty much the only thing you'll be able to do is get into the Settings and uninstall whatever the app you installed that came bundled with. Seems to depend on what update it's on to whether or not there is a Safe Mode? I dunno, reports seemed spotty about what did and didn't work and it seems they are different between wifi and data models. And they made a Family Edition which is also different. Geez... But yea, see if you can do the Safe Mode. Other than that, it'd have to be reset.
http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/motorola-xoom-help/6209-xoom-boot-issues.html#post76504
Yeah, I believe I tried to get into safe mode, it was one of the first things I gave a shot. It is just the plain old WiFi model, one of the first ones out. Bought at Fred Myers like 2 weeks after release, maybe a month. Updated to the latest android release for the Xoom which I believe is 4.2.2.
Any clue if there is even a safe mode on it, I was leaning towards no. The VZW version apparently references a safe mode, but that's probably just for them.

Phone came out around 2 months ago, same phone and same problem. Sorry to inform Root/TWRP won't be available for a while on the phone since it's so new no developer has gotten their hands on it to start developing for it. I predict it'll be faster than most new phones because it's exclusive to T-Mobile. It would take much longer if the phone had different variants because of the different carriers, but that's not the case with the revvl so what's left to do is to wait and hope ::fingers-crossed:
Anyone has the stock rom for this device?
it is like this phone doesnt exist. cant find anything. Got this phone in america and it seems impossible to unlock in mexico. do you guys think if a root will be available it will be unlocked for use in mexico? thanks!
I may be able to help with root. I don't have the phone, but if someone is willing to potentially risk their device for the sake of science, let me know.
If this goes the way I think/hope it does (since its a MediaTek), we may be able to get root and recovery in a VERY short time for this. If not, then unfortunately you're out of luck for now. But, if one of you is willing to risk it and try, I'll be more than happy to help you out.
For now though, nobody update their firmware AT ALL. They may release a patch in the future that blocks what I want to do.
UPDATE: I got to play with one at a T-Mobile store. CPU Z says this has a 6755 board, which is commonly available through other phones that have been modified. I'm really getting excited about this... If this goes the way I hope it does, you could be having TWRP and root REALLY soon.
i will be back in germany at on dec.21,if german t-mobile can't unlock it for use in germany I am willing to do anything with it for science..since I will throw this useless piece of technology at the wall anyway

Let me know as soon as you have access to a PC with Windows or Linux, which I'm guessing is when you get back to Germany. For now, make sure you DO NOT TAKE ANY SOFTWARE UPDATES AT ALL. You can update apps from the Play Store still, but keep away from all system updates at all costs.
Send me a PM for how I can reach you, when you're ready to work with me. The procedure I'm thinking of will not unlock your phone in terms of network (like using it on other carriers), but if it works you will definitely have TWRP and root access, and MAYBE even a bootloader unlock (for installing custom ROMs).
But in the meantime, I can't stress this enough, AVOID ALL SYSTEM UPDATES. This goes for anyone who may want to root their phone using this method, if this works.
I just bought one to use on a spare phone line - Cyber Monday sale for $48! I'm happy to experiment when it arrives. Maybe the sale price will entice some other developers...

$48?????? THEY WERE $179 WHERE I WAS!!!!!
For that price I would've bought one myself... But yes, that would be great if you could work with me when it arrives!
I would be willing to help as much as possible with root access as well. If you need any sort of system dump or something let me know I am very much willing to help!

Overall, it doesn't look like we have any of the obstructions I was afraid we were going to have so far. We need to work on a few things before we can get the whole thing done, but as of now, this hack looks like it will be 100% possible to do
UPDATE: We're running into some trouble again. Stuff I may not be able to bypass. I'm not sure if this will be 100% possible now...
Picked up two of these for $48 each on the T-Mobile Cyber Monday deal and got them to waive the shipping, set one up for my Mom and it's a pretty nice phone. I still have the other one sealed in the box, debating whether to keep it or sell it. Root and TWRP would be awesome, hopefully it comes soon.

A device no one has touched could be beneficial, since that means there's no Google Factory Reset Protection on it (no google account associated with it yet). If you want to use your unused device for some of the tests/methods we're working on, let me know.
Another update on our findings: with the help of @lopestom, I've found out that this device looks to be a 1:1 copy of the Alcatel A30 Fierce, and a distant cousin of the A30 Plus that Amazon once sold as a prime subsidized phone. Despite what SPFT and CPU-Z say, this phone should be running an MT6738 chipset, which uses the same partition layout as the MT6735. I have a completed scatter file for the 6735 from my R1HD days, so if this is the case, knowing where the phone's partitions are should be no problem.

My biggest fear is, again, that SPFT is being blocked in the same way that it now is on the R1HD. Besides that, we found out that Google's FRP may prevent us from accessing the developer menu to enable ADB on the phone. Now, I could've sworn I got into the developer menu in a store demo Revvl by mashing the Build Number entry like I would on any other phone, but for some reason the person I'm working with is unable to get to this menu (mashing Build Number does nothing for him). If another Revvl user is reading this, can you please try to enable the Developer Menu and ADB for me? I want to see if this issue is just for him or if it affects everyone.
EDIT: The error given from SPFT with the Revvl VS with the R1HD are completely different errors, so this gives me hope that we can still use SPFT with the Revvl.

Worked on the Revvl Plus with @oasisfleeting tonight. It's a snapdragon 625 based phone, unlike its mediatek based little brother. This phone actually allows us to go into fastboot mode unlike the normal Revvl though. However, with the exception of fastboot devices (just shows what's connected), no commands actually work. They either all return "..." Or show that no device is connected (when it actually is). Even throwing in the device ID: fastboot -i 0x1ebf oem unlock does nothing.
For the mediatek variant, there is still a very small sliver of hope. For the Plus variant, I'm pretty sure you will never get the bootloader unlocked. Root maybe, but that'll be it.

There are other unlocking commands too. Did you try "fastboot flashing unlock" on the plus
I have also seen bootloader mode renamed before. so try "adb reboot fastboot" to get into fastboot.
