Lost my Browser? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

OK this is a new one on me. All I did was flash a deodexed rom and now for some reason I have lost my Browser icon/shortcut. Now it gets even weirder, it is only missing from TouchWiz. I have installed GoLauncher and it shows up there. Now I know that I could just continue to use GoLauncher but the fact that I can't get the Browser launch shortcut to show up in TouchWiz bugs me. Would anyone be kind enough to explain where I screwed up?

What replaced it? If it's still in the apps drawer, you can put it back in. Apps drawer-menu-view type-customizable grid-menu-edit.

Nope, not in the app drawer or in the dock. Nothing replaced it. The browser.apk is still located in the system/app folder however it just does not show up anywhere when running TouchWiz.

Check for app called "Web" instead of Browser

There is no app in the dock or drawer called web or internet or browser or anything with a globe as an icon. It is for some reason just not visible in TW.

Have you tried reflashing, or even restarting?

App drawer lag!

Hey all, whenever I would open an app from the drawer and then hit back to go to the drawer again, the scrolling would be horrible. I noticed that the lag went away when I deleted my HTC peep app. I guess what I'm trying to ask is if anyone else has had their app drawer become laggy as hell with peep installed.

What ROM are you on? I've use Peep and I've never had any form of lag since I've had the device. I'm on any new SteelROM. It may not be the app, but the ROM. Make a nandroid, install a different ROM, do the same thing you did to make the ROM your on lag, and see if you have the same problem.
I'm on stock 2.3.4. The funny thing is that I used to use Steelrom and that's when I first noticed the lag (peep was kept on that ROM). So when i went to stock everything was fine for a few hours till it lagged again. I noticed that as soon as I deleted peep my lag went away

good find.. ty
I am using this. Works great. Probably a 3 star app. What i did was i put all the apps in one folder so they didnt go across all my screens, then i put this app's short cut on my dock bar. Works great. Its just very none aesthetically pleasing. Could use some more customization, maybe some sorting or something like that.

You can customize it if you use the left click button at least somewhat.
This app works great. Perfect for MIUI

I tried MIUI last night, I also installed this, but what I just ended up doing was removing this and put everything i didnt want on my homescreens in one folder and put that folder as the middle dock icon, and it basically works just like an app drawer, u can change the sorting to numerous options including by usage, which i thought was really cool.. the folder also has a neat open and close animation when u click it (when it is in the dock anyway). I always end up going back to some stock derived rom though, I just feel like I am losing features going to cyanogen or MIUI

If you hide apps in the MIUI settings and then use the altdrawer as an app drawer were you able to put shortcuts to the home screens? I'm not able to....

App screen folders

not sure if its in the right section.
When i first got my gs2 it was on 2.3.3 now im rooted modded etc one feature i miss is the ability to make seperate folders within the app screen itself not the home screen any ideas how this could he achieved on adw launcher ex or has that been scrapped since rom updates etc have moved on. just liked the idea of tidying the apps inyo relevant folders im a bit ocd with little things like that.

Organised Drawer on the market is the nearest I can think of.
It's more of an app drawer replacement I think, but will do the job.
You still can as far as i know...
From the app drawer: Menu Button -> Edit -> Drop applications onto "Add Folder" at bottom of screen -> Drop newly filled folder into app drawer.
I haven't used any gingerbread rom past KI3 so maybe something changed, but I just upgraded to ICS and the options is still there so i doubt it.
Can you not just touch and drag
An app over another one to create a folder?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
On the ICS stock launcher home screen, yes. In the app drawer, no. In Touchwiz, no.
Isn't he using
Adw launcher?
Edit- NM I've just tried it doesn't work. What about trying go launcher ex I know that allows for folders and a lot more customisation.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Yeah you might be right. I haven't used ADW EX since before the recent big updates though. Previously when I tried it folders weren't possible in the app drawer...
One of the major reasons I stuck with Touchwiz actually.

[Q] app icons disappeared

So today one of my apps disappeared from my home screen, and I noticed it had also disappeared from the app drawer. I also had some apps in a folder on my home screen, and deleted the folder, and now all those apps have disappeared. They are still installed on my phone, but the only way to open them seems to be to search for them in the market, and use the open button that it provides.
None of these apps are installed on my sd card, only internal storage. I'm completely stock, with the stock TW launcher.
Anyone know what's going on and how to fix this? I have of course tried rebooting, and clearing the cache from these apps.
Thanks!
I've had the same thing happen to a couple different apps.
I'm on DaG's overclocked kernel, TPC Rom V2, and ADW EX Launcher.
My widgets keep doing that randomly

Theres gotta be some sort of cache somewhere that the app drawer uses to maintain a list of all of the installed applications. Gotta be some way to force it to rebuild it.
Or maybe not. I bet uninstalling and reinstalling the program would fix it.
Clear dalvik in recovery should work.

you dont need to delete anything install app and then change phone and contact shortcuts icons in your home screen by the ones of the app
howver you can use system contacts if you want and after install the app if you go to a contact and press to make a call it will ask you wich dialer you want to use by definition you mark the box and choose app dialer and thats it...
i try it, before post sorry for my english but dont delete those apps from system the solution is right there.
just press thanks if i help you
Hi...
I am currently using Neko95 GingerSnap, and, since i tried MIUI, i loved the UI, i use ExDialer.
When i missed a call, the notification only disappear (automatic) if i open the stock app.
I Linked exdialer to ex partition of sd, rebooted and converted to sys app (Link2SD).
You still have the stock apps, but they are small...
The next thing that i will try, after consult the community if it works, is to, before flash, exchange the stock apps for the ones that i will use... (if someone that reads this can tell, please...)
With best regards, Shaib Lftg
Are you talking about extracting the rom than replace the phone and contacts apk with the dialer and contacts you plan on using ie...rocket dial and renaming it to phone.apk and vice versa

I don't like the idea of having multiple applications which have the same function on my phone... ie...
Stock browser-dolphin browser, stock mms-go SMS pro..you get the picture...
