How to back I9100 EFS as a TAR format?Who can tell me how to back it as a .tar format so that I can flash it in odin?
... nevermind.... didn't see that you wanted .tar
I was going to suggest HC-kTool.
If you haven't seen that tool, it's worth checking out anyway. I don't think it supports .tar but it does allow backup (and restore) of the image.
Thank you sir.I mean how to backup a good efs from a good phone to repair a I9100 baseband unknown with Odin in PDA,wich format is .tar

I made the error in buying a I9100T and not using it with a genuine T carrier in australia
I just downloaded a GT-I9100_TMU_I9100BOKG2_I9100BOKG1_I9100TMUKF1 zip and Flashed it to my phone with Odin.
It was not successful in fixing my Data connection issues.
So I used Restore in CWM and restored to my 7 day old fallback backup.
But, strangely, it restored successfully to KE4, but the modem from the backup did not overwrite the new modem - KG1.
Why would the phone hold the same modem that I have downloaded in a PDA/Modem/CSC package today after a CWM restore I created last week?
There is a mystery behind the I9100T and I need it solved so I can free this phone up a bit (lot).
CWM backup does not include the modem & kernel
Just learnt this today. Check the CWM modem thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277593 to see if you can find the original modem and flash it as a zip through CWM.
That explains a lot Thanks, It does restore the csc though.
I should be able to use this to advantage.
Load up a custom rom and save an CWM backup.
Odin the origina PDA/modem and root kerneland restore the custom over the top.
I will try anything to get this 9100T right, its undescribably harder than my I9000.
I ran better than this using Milkys Odexed Rom and a Semaphore kernel, those were the days.....
Just flashed the cf-root kernel
Went into recovery...
Formatted phone, accidentally didnt click update.zip
I then rebooted my phone... and of course i cant boot into anything because i formatted the internal storage.
Can i access USB storage? and then my custom recovery?!?!?
(I can only access download mode!)
OR
Any way to flash a ROM onto my phone via ODIN or other software???
Im stressing out as i cannot get into recovery (only download mode) HELP!
I'm sorry, but I can't understand your question.
If you're able to enter in download mode then you have no problems. Run odin and flash any firmware as *.tar or *.tar.md5 file(s). And... What do you mean that you've formatted the phone? through recovery you can do: factory reset or format some partitions - nothing else. So if you have a CWM backup on sdcard you just have to flash any stock firmware via Odin. then you flash CF-Root kernel, then enter in CWM recovery and restore your backup. No worries
p.s. my salutation to Ozzie. I was over there many times

I have wiped all my data via the recovery, the phone wont boot.
i can get into recovery and download now.
i try to install CM7 via my recovery and i even tried to restore my stock backup it keeps saying .md5 fail operation aborted (or something), can you link me to a .tar file and how to use it?
Im guessing i just click PDA then select the .TAR file then click start when my phone is in download mode?
KF3 kernel too :/
Im so lost.
Ok, look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
You have to download any firmware you like, then you flash with 3-files: PDA, PHONE and CSC. you don't use PIT file with re-partition. Then in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 you can find CF-Root kernel for your firmware revision and flash it as *.tar (PDA). That's all.

i can now switch between stock and CM7 whenever I choose, thankyou very much kind sir!
Hi Guys Is there any stock firmware GB Rom Or Froyo ROM In Which EFS Tar MD5 IMage is present so that i can flash it through odin..
If there is no EFS package, then there is none required.
Anyway, modifying the EFS will increase your chances of permanently bricking your phone. I think that's why sammobile seldom distributes firmwares with the EFS package.
official 4.0.4, rooted then flashed aroma neat 6.1 mod, and then only emergency calls avalible, when i flash aroma mod i make efs backup but i dont know how to restore it. then flashed with official 4.3 but there is also just emergency calls avalible, im crazy, what to do? help please?
Yes i think you crashed your IMEI,
try this steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2393289

Read the faqs and guides .
EFS Pro and other methods .
i read it 100 times, tried with EFS pro but nothing happend :/ ....can i flash efs.tar via odin???
No, try philz recovery instead. Your phone may have been on such on old firmware for a reason, usually a botched efs repair.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
ok tnx, now i flashed ultima rom with mg4 modem, now iget out from factory mod with terminal emulator...how i can restore efs.tar with philz reovery???? where is the option to restore in philz?? i have latest philz??
i put efs_Backup in sdcard1/clockwordmod/backup and when i start to restore efs there is a message "nothing to restore in /storage/sdcard1/clockwordmod/backup/.efs_backup/
Try manually extracting the .tar file on your pc. Copy all the files to the efs folder aims file manager, set permissions then reboot.
im on good way, all what i need to do is restoring efs, but i cant, i tried with coping files and seting perrmision but nothing hapend :/ can you help me trought teamviewer??
You must restore the full package. After this try a hard Reset.
You must delete the old files (not more than need)
i restored efs but nothing happend, downgrade to 4.0.4 offical and restore efs folder again nothing, i send it to repair service and wait for it now
Hi to all!
Yesterday i bricked my phone flashing a new rom. I was on philz recovery and wiped everything,boot,modem,etc... flashed the rom and after bootloader the phone was on black screen.
Fortunately i found a pit file for my s3 16gb. I placed it on odin with pda tar md5 and successfully got out of the brick.
My question is.
There are 2 sections in odin. Phone and csc. I didn't have such files. Did i need them because of the brick and because of using pit ?
Nope. Those are if you're going to flash the files independently from the *_HOME.tar.md5 from sammobile. You can ignore those check boxes. You just need the *.pit file, and the *_HOME.tar.md5 file you want to flash.
I thought because of the brick those 2 partitions were also corrupted. . In fact pit file re partitiones also modem but i didn't have one selected in odin.. strange it worked all finely. .
