After At&t CM 7.1 Mod, Apps no longer compatible? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

So after I updated CM7.1 mod, my marine navigation app is no longer compatible even though I bought/installed it from the market place just fine to the CM 7.1 flash?
Anyone else have this happening to them?

[Q] CM7 Latest Kang acting erratic (details)

I flashed CM7 latest Kang build. I don't know much about modding in general, but enough to install and update to latest builds.
At any rate, here are my problems (more to come as I remember and encounter):
- Google Maps FCing
- YouVersion Bible apps FCing
- WiFi slow/unable to reconnect after wake
#3 is the most annoying.
Any suggestions? Thank you!
I just tried to open Maps and first try resulted in a FC. 2nd went fine, 3rd FC'd again, but it seems to be working consistently now...odd. WiFi is strong on old stock modem (H7). No other problems with other apps.

I just tried maps three times. Same ROM as you. Didn't FC at all. The only thing that FCs for me is the DSP manager.
So what could be the problem? Is it the app? Or the ROM? What? Wish it would be all buttery smooth with no problems...

Munjeni CM9

I tried using the latest gapps from goo.im/gapps on Munjeni's CM9 rom and was getting boot loops.
I used th gapps-ics-tiny.zip and was able to boot but calendar does not sync. Doesn't even give me the option for calendar under "Accounts and Sync."
Any else having this problem?
Use the Google apps in the Winsuk thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1451906
They work perfectly.

Thanks for the help..will try that one

I got a boot loop on first boot, pulled battery then it booted.

I decided to give it a shot last night. The ROM and gapps in munjeni's thread installed without any issue. I only played with it for about an hour or so, but it was really cool.
Here's hoping the camera and GPS can be worked out soon.
April 13 update
Latest version of menjuni's CM9 working great with a number of fixes:
- GPS working
- Wifi status working
Can't wait to give it a try.

Wallpaper size
I am posting this here because I am not eligible to post on the development site.
I have noticed that all versions of the CM9 ROM have built-in wallpapers that are not properly sized for the Aria. The wallpaper that loads first time it the right size, but once another is loaded, they all appear too big, and you can't go back to the stock ICS wallpaper without reloading the ROM.
Am I missing something?
And please note: I am not complaining. The Aria/CM9 team -- notably WinSuk and Munjeni -- have done a fantastic job and great service for the Aria network.
I decided to give this ICS ROM a try for fun today...after someone mentioned to me that the Captivate and Aria (as old devices) both have ICS.
It seems like it should work fine...for the most part...as an everyday device. As long as you can deal with having no working camera or GPS.
I didn't actually slip my sim card in...since it's not currently my main phone.
Battery?
Hey guys,
Im on winsuks latest cm9. it works great for me except my batter lasts about half the time it lasted with cm7. Does anyone know if munjeni's cm9 is any easier on the battery?
I didn't try WinSuk's ROM yet, I'm running munjeni's ROM as a daily driver. In the build from 27.4., camera and GPS are working; I'm trying now the deodexed built munjeni posted today and see if it works better.

Yes i had the same issue, run "fix permissions" in rom manager, i tried that option in cwm and it did not work. I am back on cm7 because for some reason i wasnt able to receive calls, i was able to make calls, send and receive messages etc...
fix permissions did not help. however I was able to get s2e to work by using superSU from the play store.
Haven't tested out calling/messaging yet
call and messaging send/receiving also seems to work for me.

I got the problem, too. For me the solution was to reinstall the su binary using the update option in the settings menu of superuser.

[Q] Google Maps crashing ?

An update to Google Maps was released in the last couple of days. After updating, when I open the app it crashes after a few seconds and reboots my tablet. Is anyone else seeing this behavior?
I'm on the cm9-p4wifi-20120511.zip ROM. Prior to this issue, the ROM had been completely stable for me. I wasn't planning on changing ROMs until an IC or JB ROM had a working camera, but now I'm thinking I might experiment just to get Maps working again.
Before I do that however, does anyone have any suggestions on getting Maps stable so I don't have to flash just yet?
Thank you.
Same here, Maps 6.10.0 crash few seconds after been loaded w/CM9 aug 15
You should do a wipe cache, erase data from settings >> app >> maps or probably you should change you kernel flashing a new one
I have also the same problem. Wiping cache changes nothing. I use cm9-p4-20120814.zip ROM.

Same issue here on Ganbarou CM9.

I updated to the latest CM9 nightly last night, cm-9-20120819-NIGHTLY-p4wifi, and Maps is still crashing.
6.10 is buggy. I only updated it on my Sensation and it causes reboots when I use it, and causes reboots for Rezound users as well. Guess we all have to roll back or wait for an update.
Can anyone post the previous .apk? I haven't been good about keeping Titanium Backups, I admit.
Here's version 6.9.2 - http://goo.gl/4p2O9
thank you, 6.9.2 is OK, no crash.
new google maps 6.11 = same crashes.
back to 6.9.2.
p4wifi, update Maps to 6.11.1. Same problem. The crash occurs each time I enter an area that is cached for offline use, or when I try to modify the offline settings.... or after just a few seconds. Not only the app crashes (that would report the issue to Google, which could be useful), but it directly crashes the tablet (possibly a kernel panic, I have no console so no clue).
I'm having this issue with maps crashing my Samsung tab 10.1 AOKP milestone 6 and my Sensation running cyanogen 9 and when I flashed revolutionary rom with sense. I noticed on the sensation in location settings the GPS source was not checked off (cyanogen). After I chose internal source the problem stopped. There is not this option on the tablet AOKP so it still crashes. Not sure if anyone else is seeing this issue.

Same problem here, with Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 on latest Ganbarou ROM. Current GMaps reboots the tablet after few seconds. I looked for GPS Source setting and it's present on Ganbarou ROM. However, it is correctly checked and problem still persists. Looks more like a kernel/driver bug invoked by GMaps, putting tablet into kernel panic.
galaxy tab cm9 maps crashes
I have this issue as well. Its a version conflict. You need to install v6? Or something like that. Anyone have the link? Its somewhere on droid basement i just havent found it

Google Now with CM9

Hi everyone,
I am coming from Viper and trying out CM9 for the first time. I just flashed CyanogenMod 9 Unofficial Build and wanted to see if I could flash the fully working Google Now on it?
I tried other CM9's in the mega thread but I seem to like this one the best.
Also, I am not liking the camera app on the CM9 ROMS. Its like 2/3 of the screen is taken up but the shoot button. Is there any other camera app I can flash. I REALLY liked the sense camera app, any way to get that?
Thanks....
Using one of the ArmV7 versions in the Google Now Project thread in the Android Apps section should work fine, make a back up first just in case.
You can't get the Sense camera on AOSP, but you can use third party cameras in the Play Store.

Issue with Google Play

Previously had CM7 and no issues installing apps directly from GP. Since upgrading to CM10, my account shows two NT's and the newer one tells me it's incompatible with my NT. Is it possible that CM10 simply doesn't work with certain apps that CM7 did?

Yes, although I have found more often it's the other way around -- e.g., many of my CM10 apps are not compatible with CM7 or my previously rooted NT.
Yeh - I randomly found some that work with my newer ROM, so I guess I just have to wave goodbye to some that won't "upconvert"
BTW - Could not "pick up" on an incoming call with Talkatone, but can call out. Ever encounter this and is there a better app for making calls?
