Put Cyanogen 7.0.3 on two week old Gtab.
Love the speed but it offers only one email acct. I need multiple email accounts.
Back to stock ROM for the multiple email accts but miss the speed of Cyanogen.
Rather than trial & error thought I'd ask...
What ROM is fast, stable, supports multiple email accounts, supports market and preferably has Flash?
Jerry
If your looking for the benefits of stock, but fast and stable, check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1024120
Double check your bootloader before flashing anything. But this ROM meets all your requirements.
Why don't you just use a different email application like K-9 mail? It supports multiple email accounts. No need to switch roms.

I am using GTabComb 3.3 beta, and Flash works great (I use Dolphin HD browser). I also have 4 e-mail accounts (gmail), and market works great (after the Market v3.1.5 upgrade that fixes the processing error). It is a Honeycomb ROM. Highest Quadrant score was 3808, with most around 3700+, so I would say it is pretty fast. It is also very stable. However, a couple things don't work yet, mainly the camera. So if you can live without that, I say go ahead and try it!

It's only a matter of time before I can no longer resist the urge to purchase an Android tablet, even in their current underwhelming state. The G Tablet is currently at the top of my list for available Android tablets.
One thing that's been bugging me, though, is whether or not there's a solution for multiple users. I see the tablet as just laying around the house so that either my wife or I can just pick it up to check email, facebook, etc. This isn't a problem for our phones, as we each have our own Droids. Having two tablets laying around seems a tad excessive at the moment.
Does anyone know if there are any ROMs/apps/hacks that would let you easily switch from one user's homescreen and accounts to another?
This isn't exactly G Tablet specific, but I didn't know of a better place to post this.
Thanks,
-Stephen
There is a setting for multiple accounts, complete with logins. I haven't tried it yet myself - itsss my PRECIOUSSSS!

liquidcaffeine, thanks for the info. So, the pre-loaded GUI supports multiple logins? That's good news. However, I've heard not so good things about the GUI, but it looked pretty good running Cyanogen on Youtube. I don't suppose the multiple logins would carry over to that.
I have another question for you and precious. If you load another launcher (lets say LauncherPro) over the default home, can it still make use of the multiple logins? Also, does this fix the slowness of the default home or does it need a new ROM for that?
Thanks a lot!

I'm running roebeets TnT Lite mod with ADW.Launcher and I still see the option for what is called "family profiles" with it.
EDIT*** The Settings -> Family FCs whenever I try to add a new member.

That's great news! Do you have any idea yet if the family profiles will switch out accounts for apps that weren't preloaded on the stock tablet (i.e. Gmail, Maps, etc.)?
Be careful, you coming very close to costing me $400 ;-)
Has anyone found out how to actually switch accounts? I'm managed to add accounts by removing the contacts.apk from the update.zip file and reflashing the firmware.
I'm running TNT Lite 4.4.0 using the free version of launcher pro since I could not find ADW launcher.
I'm in the same boat as cerdmier. I could fix TNT 4.40 to allow me to add accounts, but couldn't figure out how to switch. Didn't try the stock ROM long enough to see if it worked there.
Rooted / Gapps - stock 1.2.4349
I have been running alternate ROMs but just updated to stock 4349 to try that for a bit. I rooted it, installed Gapps and the market fix. The family accounts does not FC under this setup.
I have Launcher Pro set as the default for the home button but have an icon for the Tap N Tap home on the screen. This lets me switch between the two. The family accounts doesn't appear to be anything like the multiple logons in Windows. The multiple accounts appear in the Tap N Tap interface only. I now see three to-do lists (Family, name1, name2) and two email accounts that I set up (name1, name2). TapNTap seems adequate for reading GMail and it supports Labels but I don't see any support for archiving or changing labels on messages.
I primarily read gmail via the browser since that supports the new tablet interface, and sometimes use the gmail app. I don't see myself using the Tap N Tap email interface very often as I change labels and archive many messages.
I have used gReader pro and the free version on my vibrant. Both are really slow especially while updating. My phone usually hangs in the middle of updating this app for feeds. The developer says that vibrant users need to use lag fix to correct the problem. How do I go about solving this problem.
gReader
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-noinnion-android-greader-reader-jmEip.aspx
Any inputs? Thanks
I am not sure how to fix your issue, but google has their own reader app in the market now. You could try that. Sorry I cant be more of a help.
Sent from my Samsung Vibrant running 2.2 with a gingerbread theme.
I have used the official google app for google reader as well. As a matter of fact I still have it installed...but like the gReader app better due to its interactive interface and small size font which enables me to see more feeds on the screen. Also the official app uses external browser to fully read a feed which I dislike.
if the official one is performing better, the app must be bogged down. complain in the market, or email the developer of the app. they do listen most of the time. you might get results in an update.
edit: and by complain, I mean report your problem in a respectful manner.
I went from gReader to the official Google Reader app and I love the official much more. NewsRob isn't my favorite either. I'd suggest trying the official one for a bit and seeing how you like it. I'm a huge RSS fan so this was my own personal solution.
for all of the lag fixes and oc and all that i've tried, the number one solution for speeding up performance of apps like this (that use a lot of memory operations to /data) is this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=727279
i use method 1 listed there and it works perfectly, i do it every time. do have to watch space, but it works well.
Since my phone is unrooted and my ignorance to these technicalities, I starts using the official Google reader app and im loving it in just a day.
Thanks.

I liked neither apps so I've been using FeedR from the market. It's fast and allows offline reading to a degree. Even though it's not free, it's inexpensive and totally worth it IMO. It reads straight from the Google Reader website. If you've already got your RSS feeds setup there, it can just import them after you login. I'd say try it for 24 hours and refund it if you don't like it. Before anyone asks, no I'm not the developer or of any affiliation.
Lag fix should fix that problem, try it.
My company has been testing Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.2 for the last 6 months. I was running it on my Incredible and then on my Thunderbolt running a Froyo rom with zero problems.
I flashed all of the new Gingerbread roms for the Thunderbolt and successfully installed Lotus Notes Traveler. When it connects for the initial sync it fails to connect. Occasionally it will give an Error (32). Checked IBM's website and it states that an error 32 is related to memory not being available. Also, when I tap the Calendar and Mail icons they both force close.
Confirmed server, user name and password are all correct.
Tried Fixing Permissions via ROM Manager and CWR. Still force closes.
My guess is that Traveler is not compatible with Gingerbread, but my manager is running a rooted EVO with a Gingerbread rom (Fresh 4.0.0.4) and Traveler worked fine for him after a few fix permissions.
Has anyone else seen or experienced this issue?
Any ideas for how to get it to sync?
TIA!
I'll try and install it tomorrow when I get back to the office. Will let u know how it goes.

Thanks for the reply.
I talked to our Notes Admin today and he said that he's waiting for v8.5.3 update from IBM. First they said May, now they're saying June. He said that as soon as he gets it he's gonna implement it. I'll know right away whether that was the issue.
Let me know if you have any luck getting it to run on a gingerbread rom.
I just upgraded my EVO to Gingerbread. I had to uninstall and reinstall Traveler, but it is working. I am using 8.5.1 on my EVO, but had to use 8.5.2 on my Honeycomb Transformer (we have different servers running different versions here).
I have not had any success with Traveler on gingerbread so far. Reinstalled from scratch several times but it force closes every time I open it.
I cant even get our server to detect my phone its annoying. so now i am using a trial of touchdown.
Man.. I thought I was the only loser that had to use lotus notes for work. I ran into the same exact issues as mentioned above: Error 32. I read somewhere else that someone got it working on CM7 GB, but haven't tried it yet. It's very frustrating.
Bump... Anyone get Traveler to work on Gingerbread?

My manager and a peer both have EVOs running Gingerbread Sense 2.1 and Traveler works perfectly on their devices. I tried all current versions of Gingerbread Sense roms for the TBolt, with variations of kernels and radios, and it just won't work. The Traveler admin just upgraded the client to 8.5.2.3, but it made no difference.
While I was still hung-up on Sense, I decided to run Commontime mNotes and it worked great. I actually prefer the native android mail client to the traveler client, but didn't like the idea of having to have a machine on just to forward my email, or the additional security risks.
I have since switched to CM7 and Traveler works fine. As much as I love Sense, I am going to stay on CM7 for Traveler and because the battery life is just awesome.
I'll update if we find a solution.
i am running gingeritis 3d build II with mr2 radio and touchdown exchange. lotus notes works fine
I also use Notes at work. I was disappointed when I couldn't use the BAMF sense 3.0 ROM. Apparently something with Sense on GB cause FCs. I switched to the CM7 1.2 (wipe, wipe, wipe before installing) and it has been stable AND Notes Traveler works now.
Went from an Evo to ThunderBolt... DAMN YOU LOTUS NOTES
Getting the same issue here. I just switched from Sprint to Verizon, and got the thunderbolt. Every single GB Rom other than CM7 FCs when launching Traveler. Froyo is fine... this sucks.

Are your colleagues rooted on the EVO? I'm a big fan of sense, and this is, as many others have already stated, depressing.
**bump**
In case anyone still having issues. Lotus Notes works with the new Uber rom.
Just a quick update. The Notes admin at my company updated Traveler to Version 8.5.2.3 201106031053 last week. Traveler now works on any Gingerbread Sense-based ROM!! Only tested a few roms so far, but it looks like it works!
Our admin updated lotus notes server today and it runs fine on BAMF forever 1.0.6
I've searched until I'm blue in the face on this and am sorry if i've missed it somewhere, but with any version of ShoStock2 ICS (including the newest 2.2.2) I can't get exchange to show emails newer than 3 weeks ago. Older one's show up fine. Also I can send emails and they will come through on the PC, but never on the phone. I've flashed back to ShoStock 1.9.4 gingerbread, and exchange works flawlessly. I have tried connecting on wifi and over the air, both with the same results. I would very much appreciate any insight you all might have.
Edit: Forgot to mention, exchange works fine on AOKP and Phone-Bricker ICS roms.
No one has any thoughts or help on this?
Hi,
I've installed everything yesterday night. Everything including the exchange servers are working fine on my end. Could it be your setting by any chance?
I didn't use any other kernel, I used cherrypicker.
Exchange seems to be working fine at this end.
Running 2.2.2 and using exchange, no issues here. No to be a smart arse but you did wipe first right?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
I always wipe data, cache, and dalvik twice before flashing a new ROM (thanks to the advice of the great group of people on XDA forums), and this is the only one that I've had any issue getting exchange to play nice with. It sets up fine and syncs all of my emails except newer than 3 weeks ago. I've ran at least 10 different ROM's including two other ICS versions with no issue on this. I've tried 4 different ShoStock2 ICS versions beginning all the way back to the the RC1 release, all with this same result. I've tried using different kernels with different releases, removing and resetting the exchange acount, rebooting, connecting on wifi and HSPA+, swapped the email apk, held my breath and stood on my head. Something is missing somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can find it.
Just to be certain that the problem still exists, I downloaded AOKP and ShoStock2 latest versions last night to try this again. I wiped everything twice prior to flashing and got the same results. Exchange loads every email from today-on with AOKP, but none newer that 3 weeks on ShoStock2. I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but surely someone else has some thought on this. The only thing I have not tried is running a kernel cleaning script. Does anyone think this might help?
The reason why I removed email/exchange apk from my rom was this exactly.
No idea why, but if included with the rom it will just causes problems so I added it as an addon in the kitchen.
I would clear cache/force stop both apps, remove them, then install them again by just grabbing them from the zip file.

Thanks for that reply! At least someone knows I'm not crazy. (I was starting to think I was). I actually ran your ROM a few releases ago, before kitchen was in it and it was pretty smooth. I may have to give it another go. Thanks again for the reply my friend!
Problem solved.
Well, I solved the problem (sort of). I said to hell with fighting to get the exchange working on ShoStock2, and installed LiLChris06's Phone-Bricker 2.5 ROM. This thing is freaking sweet and exchange works like a champ. I've been running this ROM hard now for about two hours with no force-closes, no lag, and the battery seems to be holding up incredibly.
Thanks LiLChris06!!!
Just FYI as i ran into similar problems with OMEGA and SHOStock2 roms, a single exhchange account seemed to run fine, but when i started adding the rest, i had similar issues with it not syncing new mail, and randomly NOT CONNECT to the exchange server in question. everything would setup fine, but eventually the exchange servers would just not update anymore after a couple hours.
if i went into the accounts/sync option in settings, then it would say it synced and would even give a current time, but would never display any new mail. if i went to "refresh" from within the mail app, the account would try to refresh, give an old date of the last refresh and then give the error: "connection error [exchange server name]"
i have not yet tried LilChris's option though, will try that once i get some extra time.

Yea sounds crazy but that's how it worked for many others.
In the early releases when I included I got complaints left and right, when I added it as an addon it worked flawless for everyone.
i can attest to that (so far)..
i would get exchange issues within 1 hour almost certainly..
its been almost a full 20 hours now and i havent had a single exchange hiccup yet.
one thing that might be worth noting also, i think the app is different that LiLChris uses vs what some of the other devs are using.
i have exchange 2003, 2007, 2010 servers that i connect to..
the options for connecting to 2003 and 2010 (as well as 2007) are the same in the email app that LiLChris uses, such as syncing mail, contacts, calendar (only). 2007 allows syncing of tasks, and i know 2010 allows syncing of tasks and sms, which the email app should detect.
i dont sync tasks or sms, so not a big deal to me, but i did wonder if the actual email apps were different, or different versions, or maybe one was just modded? *shrugs*.
Is there any way to lie to the Gmail app so that it will use the two-pane Honeycomb-and-up (tablet) Gmail interface on a Froyo ROM? I love the stability and speed that Froyo ROMs give me on my gTab, but I hate the single pane, subject only list in Gmail. I have tried several HC, ICS, and JB ROMS because of my intense hate of the Gmail interface on Froyo, but I keep coming back to it.
Any hacked apps out there that provide this functionality?
