Hey guys. I know this is an old issue but im hoping someone found a way to fix this already. Based on the forum research, the main cause its having the app on the SD card but I did not force the app to the SD card, i made a partition with ROM Manager and moved the apps there with [A2SD]Darktremor 2.7.5.3 Beta 04.
Has anyone found a fix? any ideas?
Thanks

Not sure why its not working from your sd but Try this:
Copy the launcherpro apk to your computer.
Uninstall launcherpro from your phone.
Boot into recovery and mount /system.
Use adb to push the launcherpro apk to /system.
Reboot.
Launcherpro should now be installed to /system instead of your sdcard ext.

Thank you. I think I did that already, Titanium Backup has a "convert to system app" option. I used it on LaunchePro but still happening. Will try your suggestion.

I have the SAME EXACT problem. And I get the same error also, "Error occured while creating the backup. make sure SD Card is Available."
I have noticed that I cant save Launcher pro’s homescreen and settings on the external sd card. It says that it can not find external sd. The external sd is there and mounts perfectly when the phone is connected to the laptop. What could possibly be causing this. Also, when I flash something in recovery, during the process I do see a command line saying can not mount external sd. Im confused at this coz I am able to access external sd card and mount it to my computer.
Delete the Launcher Pro folder.... reboot.... backup. Used to work for me before switching to ADW EX.

Deleted the "LauncherPro_backup" folder on internal sd card. Rebooted and the problem is still there.
I assume you've backed up launcherpro using titanium backup. if so, then that's why you're having this problem. you have to uninstall launcher pro, htne reinstall it and then your backup option through LP will work, but unfortunately you'll lose your customizations.
Odd, either a bug with LP or it's not playing nice with the ROM.
Why not just backup LP with titanium backup then?

Yes, I have TB backup LauncherPro! TB has been saving me lately. Ive been running Bionix V 1.2.1 ever since it came out and I think I have had this problem since then. Its as if LP is not playing nice with the ROM.
I dont want to loose my customizations as restoring them manually will be a pain in the ***.

you'll have to chose between TB backing up your LP settings, or letting LP backup its settings. they don't play well together in that aspect.
I ran fix permissions in CWM hoping it would fix Adobe reader's FC.
Now when I boot up, launcher pro goes into a force close loop. Unfortunately I forgot to nandroid before running fix permissions.
I really do not want to reinstall my ROM. I have some invaluable photos on the device.
Running MIK's CM7, with the default ADW launcher removed.
Can anybody please help?
Try with CWM 4.0.1.5

Donno about the permissions but flashing CM7 again without wiping anything should be fine as it doesn't affect the SD card contents. Another method would be to go to recovery>mounts and storage or something like that> and then mount usb. That will help you to copy the contents of your sd card to your pc.
This is assuming you can go to recovery (no reason why you shouldn't be able to) and the photos are in sd card. If the photos are in the internal memory (unlikely though), you can use your pc to do an 'adb pull <path>' to copy from it in the recovery mode.
Hope this helps.
I just restored to an earlier nandroid from 4 days ago. Good thing the photos were on the SD card.
Adobe reader is still force closing though. Any suggestions?

Hi, I just bought some apps in the 10 billion downloads promo, but I can't install any app that weights more than 20mb, it says I don't have enough memory, but I do, I have 90mb on internal memory, and more on SD card. How can I fix this? By the way, I just screwed something in my phone, so I was forced to reflash CM7.1, but the problem persists.

move cache to sd using darktremors a2sd script......

Press thanks if i helped
Hmm I just installed it, but I can't get it to work, tried A2SD gui, but it gives me an error, I also tried "a2sd check" in terminal, but I'm getting lots of "/sbin/busybox: Permission denied" errors. Tried 2 versions of A2SD, the one from CF-root thread, and newest one from darktremor site.
Do you have root ?

never encountered tht but here is how i managed to run dtapps2sd :
1) install new rom n wiping data cache etc.
2)reboot in recovery ... mount system ... install dtapps2sd.zip...
3)reboot system ..... go to terminal emulator n type a2sd install......
Yep, if I didn't, I couldn't install a2sd in the first place.
None of these instructions helped me. The problem is a combination of issues related to Samsung's devices and the Market application's design.
What did was a simple app from the Market called "MarketFix." (Requires root.) It moves your Market app cache from the device to your SD card FAT32 partition.

Yeah, what he said. Install S2E to move the Dalvik Cache to the SD freeing more internal memory than any other app.
Here's a screen shot of S2E working its magic on my phone;

S2E is only for CynogenMod.
You can try using Link2SD, its good too.

That still limits you to about 24 MB max on a download, even if you can miraculously end up completely clearing the cash.
MarketFix app from android market completely eliminates the problem.
Well, something got screwed up, and sd-ext doesn't want to automatically mount on boot, and the script I made to mount it doesn't work. BUT MarketFix took care of this error, and now I can install those apps Thanks IrishRed.

2. Partition your sdcard
3. Install darktremor / S2E

can you tell me what that 1 in statusbar means ? i even get it in my stock rom but never understood what exactly it meant lol
For one reason or another, on the CM7 that has been released (this may change when the fix for the SDCard formatting comes out), some apps from the market display:
Error
Couldn't Install on USB storage or SD Card.
Apps Effected
Aldiko
Line Runner
Wordpress
Workaround
Go to Settings->Storage->Unmount SD Card
Once the SD Card Unmounted message is shown in you notifications, install the app
remount SD Card and Enjoy
Simple fix but I hope it helps
Also if you know of another app giving this error, please reply and I'll add it to the list so this workaround pops up in search results.
Unfortunatelly, doesn't work for apps like Evernote, which want to use sdcard partition and refuse to work without it.

I finally got around to installing the CM7 Alpha yesterday. There were several apps from the Amazon Appstore that would not install without the SD card being mounted (but then would not install because they were too large).
I took my Titanium Backup and opened the .tar.gz files in Ubuntu (there are two ... the one with the longer name) and was able to get the apks. Then I moved them to internal storage, unmounted the SD card, installed, remounted the SD card, and restored data from TiBu.

Not a matter of them being too large but their apks were set up to prefer sdcard installation.

An easier way is to set your TiBu preferences to install only to internal.

I'm pretty sure I tried that in the original build and it didnd't work
It's all fixed in the current build anyway though so no need to worry to much about it

Thanks so much for this thread! Aldiko was really the only major usage app I was missing in CM7. Works great now!
Another app this also fixes...Minecraft PE! SWEET!
The new-to-Android "Readability" app also is victim to this bug. The workaround is effective.
I flashed CF-Root 5.4 and the problem solved.
THANKS
great help. worked for me .
I desperately tried to install "lane splitter" on my sgs2 , ics, and failed.
un mounting sd card did it .
I'm having a hard time using apps such as rom manager. I'm getting an error message saying: The SD card needs to be mounted to use ROM manager.
I'm not sure where am I supposed to mount the SD card from? I tried mounting thru CWM (v.8), but that didn't make a difference. I'm using CyanogenMod-7.1.0.1 (GWK74). Android version = 2.3.7.
Do I need to mount the sdcard thru terminal emulator or something?
Thanks for the help!!

On CM7, the internal SD card is mounted at /mnt/emmc. Only if you have an external microSD card in the slot will it be mounted at /mnt/sdcard.
If you don't like this default behaviour, then recent versions of CM7 for the gTab has a toggle in Settings > CyanogenMod settings which you can use to let the internal SD card be used as /mnt/sdcard.
That Worked!
Thanks bro for the help that worked for me!
For anybody using CM7 and only having internal SD and needing to enable it:
Go to Settings --> CyanongenMod Settings --> Application and enable "Use Internal Storage".
I'll be uninstalling rom manager. Couple of questions:
1. When opening up Titanium Backup, I only see a black screen and it eventually FC's. Is that a tibu compatibility issue, or just needs fixing permissions? (I did reinstall the app but didn't make a difference)
2. Any rom recommendations for BL1.1? I got my sight on vegan ge 7.0 and evolver ferus 1.1.
Let me know what you think and thanks again for your help!

No idea. I don't use TB, so I can't say why it would FC like that.
Try going into Settings > Applications > ... > TB and first "Force Stop", then "Clear data".
