SGS2 Audio Problem - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've got my phone for around 2 months and last Friday dunno why I can hear the audio (music in-call or any type of sound) in only my right headphone, the left is silent and even in the right one I can barely hear anything... Does anyone know if this is related to KI8 or is my audio jack just f****d? (I tried like 6 headphones all the same problem and on my g-tab 10.1 they work fine)

Audio jack pushed hoe audio settings one channel turned down .

Is there any way to fix it without sending it to a gsm center or a shop?is

Hey. Just wanted to let you know in my truck with aux cable it does the same thing. All sound is higher in front right than any other speakers. Someone help!

[Q] can you take calls thru the aux jack in the car?

Hi guys.
Is there any way to use phone calls with car aux?
I hear them, but they can't hear me.
I think when I connected it to aux, phone mic doesn't work.
Any idea?
Thanks
yes normally you can on other android phones. but the TB has a bug where the mic is getting disabled by accident. so a fix should come eventually.
Its not a bug. They designed it that way. Complain on their web site and hopefully they will realize their mistake.

that's correcto mundo! the headphone jack has 3 channels on it (2 for stereo out and 1 for mic). as soon as you plug in an audio cable into the headphone jack input/mic is routed from there even if there is no mic channel present.
i recommend using a bluetooth speaker phone in your car.
There is a aux cable with a mic that works just fine. I picked one up at staples.
Actually one of the Rom's I installed on my phone fixed that. I believe it was Das BAMF 1.6.x that allowed people to hear me when my head phones were in. Not sure if you're rooted or not, but there are roms out there that fixed that problem.
All you need to do is accept (or make) the call and then click the speaker button, otherwise it's looking for a headset microphone.
you can put your phone on TTY VCO and it will work. settings >call>tty mode. you will have an extra icon at the top but it does the trick untill HTC fixes the issue.
Might be late on this but, i had the same issue until I flashed das bamf 1.6.3. Just went outside and checked and is working fine in the car and while using regular earbuds.

It works! Thanks
i'm on the BAMF 1.6 boat. never knew there was an issue until i read this thread. i have taken calls on my thunderbolt for awhile now using my phone in its dock. pretty slick. just wish the headphone out was a bit more powerful. not as loud as my og droid.

[HELP!] Hero having problems with ear headphones/handsfree

I have my Hero's original handsfree and since 3 days ago only 1 earpiece is working, same thing happens with my mp3's ear headphones and other handsfree from my friend, all of them work on 1 "speaker" on my phone. I mention that all the above work flawlessly on my friend's phone. First I thought it's the rom, so I changed the rom (Android 2.1, 2.2, 2.3) but with no success. Yesterday I tried plugging in my regular headphones (those that cover the whole ears) that I use on my computer and both of the "speakers" work. What can I do ? Small headphones suddenly aren't fully working but my normal headphones work great.
Everything was working great until 3 days ago. Tried on calls, Rom's music player, video player, youtube, some online radio player, different music players, video players, no results. Please someone help me with an idea of what's going on and how to fix this.
"Hardware" problem. Try removing upper button from the volume control, usualy there is the place where wires are soldered to the circuit. - and usualy there they broke
Hint - to be shure try another working handfree before blaming phone/soft/firmware - HF must be for Hero for everything to work, and you may just put ordinary headphones to test left/right channel sounds.
I'm not blaming the soft or my handsfree or headphones or the firmware but I dunno why is it reacting this way ! But leaving the handsfree beside for a moment I dunno why the ordinary headphones work on both on L and R "speakers"... but the ones that go in the ears work only on L or R "speaker" and this ones work great on my mp3 player. They also worked on my phone until 3 days ago.
I've disassembled my phone and there's no wire on the jack slot .. it's directly connected to the main board and doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the bond. It's not possible if you think of it. Gonna call an exorcist for my phone or something gonna take it to the shop in the morning maybe they can take the evil from it thanks anyway
Edit : The guys over the phone shop fixed my problem ... there was something f**ked up in my Jack slot or something. Now I can use my handsfree again
maybe i was not correct, but in my case it was in teh "control box" of handsfree, i never opened the phone.

[Q] Very quiet audio

Hey I own the i9300 and for a while my audio has been very quiet, to the point where I had to put my ear next to the speaker to hear anything, and the odd thing is only earphones with one cable instead of two joint ones coming from the jack will work. I've replaced my speaker earlier and it's no different. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Sorry for the poor explanation.

[Q] No sound from speaker + mic not working

I have had this problem for a while now.
I don't have any sound from my loud speaker in my S2, and the microphone is not working either.
I can only hear sound/use a mic when I connect an earphone (mic working is the earphones' mic).
I replaced these parts with new ones:
- earpiece speaker flex cable ribbon
- Loud Speaker Ringer Buzzer
- USB dock port flex cable (since the mic is in this part)
Nothing changed.
I'm pretty certain it is not software-related issue since I installed many roms since, and I even got back to stock, but it won't change anything.
What do you guys think? Any way I can resolve this issue?

You are not gonna like my response but its time to visit service center or mobile repair shop.
Thanks ☺
It's probably the motherboard right? Don't see much value in reparing it if this is the case since phones are getting pretty cheap today...

Headphones pluged in mic problem with phone calls

Hi guys,
I need your advice here. I love the music capability of the v10. So my headphones is plugged in the phone all the time while listening to music. However, I noticed that 30% of the time when I receive/make phone calls the mic would just stop working. If I unplug my headphone and replug it back, about 50% of the time it will work again. The other 50% the phone call would end when I unplug my headphones. During all these scenarios the mic would work under speaker mode.
Is this a software issue?? Coz the mic obviously work flawlessly when the phone is unplugged or when it's on speaker mode. Would reboot the phone solve this problem or should I send this unit back to lg??
Thanks in advanced for your help!
I'm having the exact same problem you are. This happened to me once before and it just sort of fixed itself after a while. Do you see a weird little headphone chord icon at the top of your screen? If you do, it means that your phone thinks that a headset is plugged in when it's not, thus not allowing sound - such as music - to output from your external speaker. Mine doesn't even play music through headphones or allow me to hear anyone while making calls if I don't use speaker phone - the person I'm calling can't even hear me.
This is such a faulty issue - and a rarely known or talked about one at best. I'd take it up to your local carrier store and see what they say.
Mic prpblem even without headphone plug-in.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will contact LG. However, today I hada mic problem without pluggingin my headphones
Now I know the phone's mic works ~80% of the time. When it works, it works flawlessly. So, do you guys think this might be a software problem??
