[Q] How to change lockscreen wallpaper? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

On most android phones when you pick the wallpaper it also shows it on the lockscreen. That doesnt appear to be the case here, so how do you change it? I'm on overcome v1.2.1.

hi,
maybe a clue .?
On stock rom you can do following,
...settings/screen/screen display/then options ..home screen wallpaper and lockscreen wallpaper, if you select lockscreen ,further options ..wallpaper gallery or gallery,
is it the same on your rom ?
(another option,
to set lockscreen, from picture gallery application , straight )
good luck

To clear this post up a little (because I could barely make it out...no offence to willcor though)
You can do one of two things...
1. Go to Settings
> Screen
> Screen Display
> Select the word "Wallpaper" under the screen you would like to change
> Select where you would like to choose the picture from (most custom ROMs don't support the "Wallpaper Gallery" Option)
> Choose your picture
2. Go to your Gallery Application
> Select the folder in which the picture that you want is located
> Select your picture (A Motion sensor setting popup may come up if this is your first time. Doesn't matter what you choose for it)
> Hit the options soft button in the top right corner of the tablet (if you have no menu buttons up, press anywhere on the picture once and they will come up)
> Select "Set Picture As"
> Select either LockScreen or Wallpaper

Neither works on task's roms.

Okay. Then tell me how you have done it since I have used both of these methods and the new lockscreen from 14 does not change.

Wallpaper - issues

Hello,
I have an issue w/ wallpaper, I know I cant be the only one w/ this issue. I am using a rooted ROM, does not matter which one, it happens on all of them. But I can not get the wallpaper to display correctly... I know on a scale of 1-10, this is maybe a 0 w/ 10 being the most important, but this is bugging me... just wanted to know if anyone has a fix for this...
thanks in advance!
I have the same issue
but its whatever, but i would still like a solution

Yeah I agree.. Right now I am using Vegan's Rom and I would put 10 bucks to fix that issue... Just because it bugs the heck out of me
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12730367&postcount=13
I got the same issue. Just adding to the count. The link above doesn't help my wall paper is the standard ones that came with it and now it doesn't work. Or I just don't understand.
ps stock 1.2-4349
Hey guys. What's this wallpaper issue you guys are talking about? Can you be more specific?
I had some issues with Vegan 5 and I noticed it didn't go away with the upgrade to Vegan 7. My wallpapers looked low-res. What I did to remedy this (someone suggested this on one of the threads.. wish I could remember who) was install "multi live wallpaper" form the market. I think that's what it's called anyway.
I just changed the default settings to single picture (then choose the picture you want as your background).
I didn't like the wallpaper scrolling as I went through the different screens on my home desktop. There's an option that makes the wallpaper fixed so it doesn't scroll as you scroll through your desktop pages.
Anywho, hope that helps some.
Just to clarify, download multi live wallpaper.
Then on the home screen press and hold down on a blank area of the desktop.
A list with options should open up. (Add widget, wallpaper, live wallpaper, folder, etc)
Select "live wallpaper" and choose multi live wallpaper from the list.
Set the settings you want and you're good to go.
Check out Wallaby on the market. Works like a charm for me.

the problem with live wallpaper is that it uses more RAM and CPU to run, even if you only have one photo.

I have it on mine, it super zooms the image to make it fit
Multi Live Wallpaper keeps saying that the files are unavailable, and that I must reload or reboot. And Wallaby cannot does not see my SD2 card, where my pics reside. MLW did work at once, and it did have the same problem when I started up, but would sooner or later "find" the pics, and display them after about 5 minutes of use. However, now, it just stays on the error message screen.
I use JustPictures, and it works, but still suffers from not scaling the pics to the screen.

[Q] Can I alter a theme from Themer?

I think maybe I'm trying to defeat the purpose of Themer, but I'm not sure. A lot of the themes I like have a tab or screen or something for music. I'd rather have that be navigation or something like that. So the one I'm working with right now is called Bookmarks. The last page has a headphone for the icon and the actual screen says Music. Is it possible to edit this?
Also, is there any place to download the theme to my computer so I can play with it there before loading on to my phone?
Thanks!

Hi there,
Themer is in essence a launcher. So much like the other top launchers out there, you are able to add/edit/move widgets and so forth. Regarding this theme, unfortunately the music icon on the tab can't be changed (it's baked into the wallpaper), but you could always just place another icon over it if you wanted.
So, in order to edit/move widgets, it's very simple. Hold down on the homescreen > Unlock Widgets, now hold down on the music player widget and select Remove. However, this will remove the "hotspots" that enable you to jump from screen to screen. So another way would be to hold down on the music widget > Configure, this will open the Everything Widget editor. From here, select a music item > Music (at the bottom) > Delete object. Repeat this for all the music items, then press back to exit the editor.
Next, hold down on the homescreen at the very top > Apps > Widgets tab > your navigation widget (or app icon), which you can then drag and drop onto the blank area. Now you can hold down on the widget and select resize to make any adjustments, and once everything looks good you can hold down on the top again and select > Lock Widgets.
Unfortunately you can only see the Themer themes on the app, but we might expand on that in the future...
Hope this helps!:fingers-crossed:

How do you get the wallpaper from the theme to PS?
It's easy to change the text/icon and you can replace any "hotspot" to point to a new app.
Larger wholesale changes to screens are a bit tougher.

Ok, I did as was instructed to remove the music. If I'm on the home tab, I can still hit the tab for weather. But if I'm on the 'music' tab, I can no longer move to another app. How do I make a hot spot to be able to go to other tabs from music?
to edit via photoshop grab the paper from the themer folder for the theme you are using, add it to photoshop grab the full image then create new image same size, copy original pic to new photoshop pic then simply edit as required and save when finished, sounds easy I know but if you are familiar with photoshop it is easy

Did you delete the widget? That would've removed all the hotspots (only way to fix this is to re-apply the theme, for now). Apologies if I didn't explain well enough, but deleting only the music items should leave the hotspots on the left intact. Hope this helps

I've got same problems!
to add thumbs is easy m8 follow these steps
do a snapshot of your screen
browse to where it is saved and rename it to the name of your style ie if your style is called style1,rename snapshot style1
copy this over to themer folder on your device to mycolorscreen/themer/exported/thumbs
pic in preview will now show up
re locking widgets I only ever had that when I had forgot to put hotspot on so may be same with you

[Q] CM11 - Can't find anymore how to change lock screen wallpaper on Galaxy S3

Hi,
on my i9300 intl. I did a clean install of latest CM11 nightly (20131212) plus GApps-stock 4.4.2-20131212 coming from CM10.2 and while everything seems to work fine I'm not able to find anymore how to change the lock-screen wallpaper.
On CM10.2 used to have the possibility to go on Gallery, select the image, hit the menù button and there there was a pop-up menù allowing me to select "set picture as" and giving me the possibility to choose the lock screen. Now there are only the following options: Contact Photo, Wallpaper Gallery (that is weird), Wallpaper Google+ and WhatsApp profile photo.
Even if I go in Settings>Wallpapers there is no option for lock-screen anymore.
Any help from anyone??? Thanks in advance...

Thans fo the advice. Will try this although this confirms that the feature basically is no longer there anymore. Maybe will reappear in a future nightly.

Lockscreen Image Change S7 +

Hi all my First Post as new member, (I think I was a member a long time ago, but no email search works)
I have 3 Android devices, my trusty old Galaxy S5, TCL 4K UHD TV and now new TAB7+5G.
Anyway I am trying to change my Lockscreen Image from original but can't seem to find a way and I did search before this thread, I have changed Homescreen Image OK, but not Lockscreen.
Appreciate any help,
Thanks
Ash
There is a service that will change the lockscreen image daily. Go to settings - wallpaper - wallpaper service - enable.
It would have been nice for samsung to enable the service to work for home screen wallpaper too.
Go to wallpapers and when you pick on it asks you which to use for.... home or lock screen.

Hi thanks for that But the Lockscreen Settings are either None (what came with Tab) or Dynamic which gives you options of about 4 category titles and then others within each title, BUT you must have WiFi on and they must update every 2 weeks to change LS cycle.
I don't want this at all I just want to set my own Lockscreen to my image as I can do with the Homescreen (use my image).
Guess we have different tabs.
Edit: Not sure why can't upload a screen shot.
When I go to "Wallpaper" in settings I see my current home an loclscreen images at the top, below that I ..
My Wallpapers
Gallery
Wallpaper Services
Apply Dark Mode
If I pick either My Walpapers, or Gallery and then pick an image I get a meny that asks me where I want to apply it.

Well finally got it,
Because I First added a particular single Jpeg Image from my Mega Cloud it saved in Gallery to a folder called Pictures first when I bought Tab new.
I also use a Recovery App for images off Twitter, etc....some I save and "restore image' from same app.
The image goes in Gallery in 'Restored 'folder.
Even though Gallery has 4 options in bottom of screen the Picture option Only has my Restored Images and not THE Picture I want as Home and Lockscreen.
As I said Yes I can use My jpeg as Homescreen Only as it gave me no other options, BUT when I copied this same Jpeg over to Restored Folder and opened up image there were the options to add to Hone and Lockscreen...so it worked.
Anyway all good, just the usual learning BS with Sammy and their control with OEM.
I am going from Android 6 to 10 in one hit, still learning.
Thanks.
