Really?? Ok then, first things first check out this video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmvCpR45LKA&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Then before you do anything at all to your device at all read this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931193
Next read this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944555
Now read this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944569
Now that you know how things work around here read the wiki for your device - it needs updating a little but it will help you - here is the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Xperia_X10_Mini
Now, if you still want to have wifi tether on you device and you still don't know where to look then technically you don't really deserve to know but here is the link, just because i am so nice.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740698
And if you cant figure out how to use it well then you should really sell you x10 mini pro and go buy yourself a Nokia 3310 or 3315.
Goodluck,
Evil.
Actually really thanks to Evil'a patience to the freshman , just like me
Second , I know how to use Barnacle for Tetherring, the problem is hotspot setup is OK , but My Lt15i can't find the AP , thus my laptop can
third , although I am the freshman in XDA , but I am not new guy in BBS , I try to use the Search to find the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188721&page=2. unfortuanately , it does not work according the instruction there
Finally , I had to raise a new thread here
last but not least , would you like to instruct me how to make it portable hotspot work ,
thanks sincerely

Right ok then sorry for my lil rant above then, i wasn't trying to be mean, its just been a very long 39 hours and 20 min for me. The link you found is correct, so if anything you should post there since the developer of that module will be able to help you better than i can.

Unfortunately i cant help you, i dont know anything about that module. i use a custom kernel, where everthing like that is in the kernel and not apart of the operation system, unlike modules that are in the operating system and need to be insmoded on boot.
With the custom kernel im using, Zombie Panik (link in my signature) does not have hotspot functionality yet, as far as im aware.
If i were you i would go to this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1152
and read the first post very carefully. Ive just had a quick look and i can already see that the module is not finished yet and is still in test phase. and that the install method needs to be rerun on every boot.
Long story short wifi hotspot is not functional for consumer use just yet, only really for developers and beta testers. Thats what i take from it anyway.
Unfortunately, even if the kernel has the function built-in, the ROM creator would still have to update to use it.
thanks anyway ,evilbarcode ! you help to understand the regulation in XDA . you are so nice and patient to help me for my problems
Have a nice day ,Bro

I'm normally not one to flame newbs but it HAS been explained ad nauseum and is easily found in ANY Desire HD rom thread within the first or second page. it doesn't even take a thorough search or drudging through a 50 plus page thread to find the answer to this question.

Please close - another thread that should not have been started wasting more bandwidth.
OP - Please take the time to search the forums first. Whilst XDA members are here to help it does get a bit frustrating when questions such as this are asked time and time again.

I really hate when a member who has alotta posts', always has something smart to say when a "newbie" asks a question. It's not necessary! While the post may be a waste of "space", the question is still relevant. Don't forget, "YOU" was once a newbie also!!! A simple answer could've ended this thread already. Many of us aren't as tech savvy as others, thats why forums like this was created. If it wasn't for "newbies" these forums wouldn't continue to exist. we had the same issue back in the G1 days when eclair was first ported. someone took the time to reverse engineer the camera driver to get it to work in eclair. either we get the source for it, or someone has to take good chunk of time to figure it out.

Just curious, is there some reason why a camera driver from another build won't work in the Desire HD ROM?
Ditto, I agree. Let's be accommodating and helpful.

Because its not a camera "App" issue. More of a driver issue.

What prevents the use of the camera driver from a working Android build? Is it not a ko module?
If it were that easy, dont you think darkstone would have just included in the first beta itself

No, people are not getting mad just because he asked a question. Its the fact that he did not do any research at all (Which is a huge rule on this site). The answer to this question has been answered in just about every Desire HD-2 thread. Also because this particular forum "HD2 Android Development" is not for Q&A. I've seen a thread about this exact question start like once a week, and it always gets moved.

Now till i'm waiting for new apktool, smali, baksmali etc that i can continue work on honeycomb...

Yeah.. seriously.
We need to all stop wanting to stand in the lime light.
XDA is about developing and helping.
It's not here to feed your ego.
The last few weeks here i have seen people do and say the most useless crap ever.
If it's not helping someone or developing for the good of all of us.
Then F#@& OFF.
Being greedy is what destroys.
Sharing is what builds.
Please everyone here be nice, be friendly, be helpful.
Leave your anger and attitude at home.. we don't want it.
I dont have problem... u can always help with mine too
I always look to people to hrlp me
Will help were i can for u either way

Sharing is the key to get some great things on our X10. If we have 3 Developer that are new and dont know all but share all its like we have 1-2 pro Devs Like when i dont know something rdannar knows it and when he dont know something i maybe know it.
Open
Yeah Android is open source and that's what made me get an Android phone and if people are getting annoyed they just need to leave, it's clearly not for them.

+1 if a new dev starting to work on x10 this is a progress and if no one sharing or say "this is my file dont us it " we will never progress, sharing is the way to have at final a fully compleat custom rom for x10

This thread looks more like making fun of one particular DEV than asking for help.... You could have PM the DEV rather than creating a thread in development section..
I have to say though still you guys do not have 2.3.4 (Without WLOD) even though working together, not making fun but just saying....
Everybody here wants himself to be called GOD....When their position gets challenged, they over react... Started by One of the Developers and carried on the same path by another.... Now XDA in divided into 2 groups.... One Group is TRIP and other is Everybody//////
This is truth, now you can all start your comments....
Are there any plans once SE release GB 2.3 for the devs to work on a MEGA Rom?
That would be neat. Imagine how quickly things would get done (ONLY if people don't post stupid questions and not read the OP/1st post ).
Keep it up guys.

What can i say...proud to be Croat!
i have finally made it... thanks to those whove discovered the cure to this insomnia of the android cellphone..
it is official
deep sleep can be achieved without the installation of different bootloader bypass
it is not prohibited by certain applications.
it is prohibited by installation of custom kernel
but it has been cured:
after installing the custom rom and kernel.
1) go to network and select the network provider manually.
2) go to date and time and uncheck the auto update.
tried and tested more than twice for k010 and k011
this post is just a compilation of the possible cure for deep sleep
which i have read alll around the forum..
i was amazed to find out that these simple factors can make us all happy
thanks to all the dev and testers.
God bless.
restart your phone after the changes in settings..
dont forget to hit the thanks button if this helped
I haven't got those settings disabled/used and I get deepsleep ! Btw, making this thread was unnessecary. Espcially because you don't credit the ones that have found it! You've to credit by name. You've also posted the thread in the wrong forum.
After posting this deep sleep went away hagahhahaha

Can someone help me Do the performance Fix for stock 2.2.2 On 351 , i have streakmod , i tried getting the file 3.1.5 and did install it , but my dell goes into bootloop wen i restrt , plz can anyone guide Me
Well, if you actually had read the thread where you pulled the performance fix from you would have known that the performance mods only work on ROMs 309, 315, and 318. It's absolutely no surprise that your Streak bootloops when you install the performance mod, since you're replacing a newer kernel with an older one. There are no performance mods for any ROM newer than 318, so do not install the performance mod.

Man, u wrote all that , u should hve said yes or no , can anyone tell me can I flash stuff in stock rom , and frm which roms I can come bck to stock through the recovery image that I made using streakmod
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda premium
Answering your last question first, a nandroid backup will restore the Streak to the way it was the moment you did the backup, with the exception of the baseband and amss. Those two things are only restored with an official Dell ROM. So it should not matter what ROM you switch to, though I recommend caution if you go use StreakDroid 2.x.
What stuff are you looking to flash in a stock ROM? If you have StreakMod as your recovery you can flash from it, and are in fact supposed to when rooting the Streak, which I noted in your other thread. So it is possible to add stuff to a stock ROM using StreakMod.
Finally, addressing your comment which I believe was directed at me, virtually everything you have asked has been addressed in other threads, which is why in your other thread (already linked) I gave you a link to the sticky and told you to read up. I'm not here to hold your damn hand.
P.S. Proper English please? "You", not "u". "Please", not "plz". Typing like that shows us that you're in a hurry to do something that requires some time and effort. Not to mention it's f**king more difficult to read than if you spelled it out like you were taught in grade school.

He's just like another noob I dealt with recently. He wanted to upgrade his Streak from 2.2 to 2.2.2. So, like a good egg I provide him the link to the sticky and mention to him to use the search engine next time. The response was essentially this:
"why is this section here if all you're going to tell me is to google stuff?"
Then as a follow up, the noob comments that he's looking for a "professional's answer". After I got a laugh out of that last one and explaining to him exactly how things work around here, he tries to apologize for "hurting" me and finishes up with this gem:
"I want to update my Dell and nothing more. If you can help me or want to help me then give me the right links." (emphasis mine)
While my reply was rather civil in that I told him if he wanted one on one tech support I charge for it, what annoyed me almost as much as his original reply to my posting the sticky was him begging for "the right links". Begging for the right links isn't going to change the fact the links are in the sticky! It's no wonder that developers are leaving this site in droves when they see drivel like what is in this thread from people who don't want to take the time and energy to learn about their damn devices so they can actually do the work themselves!

Yeah I remember reading through that, I LMAO at that one... and you are right, devs are leaving XDA in droves, not just from the Streak but from all the device threads because the moderators are more concerned with the language we use to address the noobies than doing THEIR job as moderators and keeping the newbies in line, we the experienced users don't need any moderation, it's the noobs that need the guidance and should be repremanded for posting NEW threads about worn out subjects...
Sorry guyz My Bad

Even I occasionally make boneheaded posts, such as asking what the Dell Settings Provider.apk actually does and whether I actually needed it. No one answered the thread, I believe because it was thought to be an obvious question that didn't need an answer. So I experimented and deleted the file. I didn't have any issues, which is a good thing. I did however search before I made the post and did not find anything either.
We did not have the benefit of the sticky nor The Manii's list of safe to remove apps to make it easier on the noobs. There is nothing wrong with noobs asking questions, but you know full well that we're getting too many noobs lately running to the site for help after doing something wrong instead of searching for the answer before posting. That kind of BS needs to stop.
To the OP: keep asking questions, but make sure you use the XDA-Developers search engine instead of Google to find things before you post. It works better.
