I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a problem with the screen being selectively unresponsive... Here's a fix.
The screen needs to be grounded in order to function properly. HTC has designed for many of the components to be grounded into the aluminum back. All that has happened here to cause unresponsiveness is that screen isn't being properly grounded. We'll fix that.
Take the back cover off. What we are looking for is the grounding pin. It can be seen at the center of the bottom edge of the phone in this pic:

Here's a close-up:
That piece of metal makes contact with the inside of the back cover at a little square seen in this pic at the top middle: It's hard to see in the pic but easy in person.
So what we need to do is put some aluminum foil on that square to increase the conductance, or simply bend the metal lead on the phone so that it contacts the back more reliably. Or both
Fixed the screen responsiveness for me. You're welcome!
I have not had this issue but my GF's Sensation does... going to try this...
Yeah I had to do that for my sensation and it worked, be careful though when lifting the metal so that you do not break it off. The one in the sensation is very flimsy.

Help?
Can you make the third picture a little more zoomed out? No idea what or where it is. Thanks in advance. I have the same exact problem, and it annoys the crap out of me. If you're able to, can you also mark it on the image. Thanks.
I have done this, but I'm not sure if it had any effect... Worth a try!

Has anyone treid any of these. Want to know if it covers all of the phone and how about a screen protector then and what the quality is like?
http://www.istyles.com/touch-pro2-c-292_489_698.html?page=0&sort=2a
That's very nice. I was searching for such a site. Maybe I will buy one for my Touch Pro2 and PlayStation3. I like the design of the covers.
When I buy some, I'll let you know!

P.S. Sorry for my bad English. I'm Dutch, you know.
There was a thread on here about 6 months ago with a similar thing and one guy had pics where moisture had got underneath the the protector he had on and it made a right mess don't know if these will do the same tho
interesting that they give you a matching background... well thought out product for sure!
I just ordered the carbon-fiber setup. Will post my experience when it comes in.
thats pretty cool, gotta look into this lol
Got mine in today. About all these are good for is personalization and minor scratch protection of unimportant areas. The battery cover half only covers part way and will only protect from scratches when laying the phone down flat. The cutouts are perfectly positioned and lining the skin up is easy, but be careful not to stretch the thin material.
The front skin is less impressive. Unlike in the photos, it does not cover the chrome trim at all. It is exactly the same shape and size as a die-cut screen protector, but the screen area is open. If you use one of those types of screen protectors then this skin is little more than adornment. If you use the square-cut type then it has to be larger than the skin's opening, which is exact to the Tilt's viewable screen area. This means there will be some degree of overlap. You could cut a screen protector to fit the skin's opening, but the likelihood of getting it perfect and without gaps is not high. Again, be careful not to stretch it when applying, especially the very thin sides.
To get the included wallpaper you have to go to a website and enter a key that comes with the skin and verify your e-mail address used to order. It will then be sent in an e-mail. I tried to use it with SPB Mobile Shell and it was magnified and all pixelated for some strang reason. Didn't try it with Manila since I'm no longer using that UI.
I guess if you want a custom look to the outside of your phone, it's worth the $12 (with shipping), but don't expect a lot of protection from it. Also, when you pass a finger over the edge where it meets the device you can feel it. Probably won't be long before it starts lifting and getting all unglued or ragged.
hey Miami.... post some photos of the finished application if you can.

Here's a fuzzy closeup of the edge. You can feel it when you pass a finger over it and it will probably be no time before it starts to lift. I've already got a ragged edge right where the stylus goes in from nicking it with my fingernails. I'll leave it be as long as I can, but I don't expect it to stay on too long.
Has anyone noticed a significant creaking on there amaze 4g when pressing the screen. For me whenever i answer a call it sounds like pressing a button. The issue seems more prevalent on the right side of the screen and only with the casing on.

I have heard what are talking about, but I don't know if I would classify it as "significant". I think what you're hearing is the contact points, between the main body and the back cover, compressing because of the pressure of you pushing down. There's a couple of contacts near the video camera button.
I can only hear it, even faintly, if the environment I'm in, is pretty quiet. I guess I would have preferred HTC used spring loaded "pins", instead of the "folded" copper, but I don't think it's a big deal
My sister has that. I found it very annoying when I was rooting her phone.
Without a case its rather annoying, but with a tpu or d3o case its entirely inaudible.
I got this problem too, except its probably not as severe. A couple of times it wouldn't do it after I reseat it a certain way.

Not even slightest sound on my Amaze. Rock solid.
I believe it is the back (battery) cover that is making the noise and not the screen and it seems to be where it makes contact with the side of the device.
I think it's on the back as well, but mine seems to be around the center. Might put a small piece of foam there to see if it fixes anything.
I get a bit of noise, but it comes from the lower left part of the phone where there is play between the case and the rest of the phone. others have recommended that the use of foam helps with this issues.
Sensations have this problem all the time. Usually with a case though it goes away.

The more you flash (and subsequently pull the back cover) the sooner it will happen. It is slight wearing of the lock tabs and prongs inside the case.

So I left my precious Galaxy Note on the back on my dads truck, the car that he will only drive 10% of the time, and then today he drives it. I go out to get my phone and realize he took the truck. I was like "OHHHHHHH *swear words*!!!!!!!!!"
I went out and looked for it and found it on the side of the rode face down with the screen protector off. I had a simple flip case on it, but I wasn't able to find that.
I am ultra sad right now, but there is a lot of hope.
A strange thing is that the battery was still in it and the back of the phone had absolutly no scratches on it.
I turned it on and I could hear little startup sounds like the new gmail message one
So I guess that is good, but I still have this broken screen .
So the reason I am posting this is because I want to know if I can get it fixed with a kit or something. I am assuming I have to get the LCD and polarizer because the screen is cracked into little bits as the picture showed, and I can pick out each of those bits pretty much.
So much for gorilla glass
Gorilla glass is not for a phone dropping off a moving car....
Also p.m. me I have a spare backing for the note brand new

wait, you left the phone on the back of his truck.....you say that like its normal like one would put it on their dresser or something. So you normally leave your phone in the garage on a vehicle?
Looks like someone ran over it. too many impact points on the glass from pressure applied, rather than the initial smack on the ground.

How can I get rid of it? Cleaning it doesn't seem to do anything. Does this happen to all anti-glare screen protectors?
Anyone?

I think that's normal while using a matte type screen guard. I use one, and I have the same appearance.
matte screen protectors > +prevents the hand fats after usage ,+ gives a great screen feeling ,-it gives distortion as u posted
normal screen protector >> nothing just for protecting :silly:
Oh wow... I wasn't expecting that. I watched some reviews etc. to see how the screen looked in YouTube, as apparently it makes the image slightly distorted (which it doesn't) and those people didint have this issue. I thought it's like in some TVs or PC monitors. The image is matte, doesn't reflect as much light and doesn't have this fuzzy stuff.
Does anyone at least know what is causing the fuzziness? Is it something in the screen protector, like glue that was sticking the top and middle layer together, or is it the light reflecting? If it is the glue, then I could get some alcohol or cleaning substance and get rid of it hopefully.

its the material of the screen protector since its matte ,, it consists horizontal deviated lines which u cant remove and they are the cause of this distortion

Thanks to everyone who helped. I think I will get used to it. Having my screen matte is really beneficial ;D
I don't know if I'm getting used to it or it's going off, but it seems like the dots are becoming smaller and smaller...
Did anyone had an issue with the battery getting swollen on this phone? If so, could you tell me if it looked similar to this?
I don't know if it just got kinda bent and the screen popped out a bit or if the bulging battery is pushing it out.

The first two photos show how the metal casing got separated from the black plastic rim and the grey plastic tip on the back, it only happened on the bottom right side, looking at the screen.
The other two show how how the layer of glass is bulging from the black plastic frame, it only happens on the right side around the middle of the phone. It's soft and springy to touch, i can push it back down but it pops right back up.
Have you opened it up? Sounds like a mount inside broke, and can't hold the edge down. Or, it could just be misaligned inside. The last case, that I could think of, is a damaged battery. Check the way it's charging, and if it smells funny.
Thank you very much for your response!

I hope that's not the case, the phone served me well for all those years, and even if i get a new one it'd be great to have a backup device and not just scrap the thing.
I don't know what to look for when charging and as soon as i started to suspect the battery might be getting a touch explosive i stopped charging/using it. I might try it if you tell me what to look for.
The phone does smell a bit off, it has that weird electronic smell but then again it is an electronic device sooo that might be just normal, i don't know i never smelled it before. The smell seems to be stronger next to the opened case, but if it's just a normal smell of the device inside it would also have that smell there since it's more open on that side.

The smell test is to see if the battery's damaged, or swelling(maybe that's why the case won't close on that side). It's old, and that day will come when the battery needs replaced, mine's still hanging in there.
