Interesting topic. So is it possible that you can get your email draft back by finding the system?

You should be able to just press Menu then Folders, then Drafts... If it was Saved it'll be there!

I some how deleted two Yahoo apps and now I'm stuck. All the other bloatware was frozen, but my yahoo contacts and authentication apks were deleted. Now every time I select a contact "com.motorola.contacts" fcs. HELP!! Is there anyway for me to get these back? Maybe someone could backup theirs and send them to me? Any help would be great! Thanks guys.
Yahoo Calendar service 2.3.5 (I still have this.)
Yahoo Contacts 2.3.5 (I NEED this!)
Yahoo! Mail Authenticator 2.3.5 (I NEED this!)
PS - Downloaded the system dump and tried to install the "YahooContacts.apk" but it wouldn't install. I'm at a loss. :-/
They don't install like normal apks. You need to put them into the /system folder either via adb or a root explorer app. Then you need to make sure you have the correct permissions set. As a tip you can pull your /system via adb as well. I also recommend looking for a list of bloatware that can be removed without fubaring your phone. Nothing good comes from deleting files like a mad man/woman. Then we just see the forums with people screaming for help cause they destroyed their own phones. Not trying to sound rude or anything with that last statement.
Yeah, I wasn't trying to delete anything. I was merely trying to freeze the bloatware. Some how it got deleted during the process. Thanks for the tip though. I'll give it a try. However, in the system dump, I was still only able to find the Yahoo Contacts apk. What am I to do about the Yahoo mail authenticator?
Tried copying the apk using es file explorer and the copy failed... ?
Hmm it's not in the dump? If it's not in the dump, then you'll need to get someone to post it for you.
What do I do about the apk not copying over?
Hmm not sure what to say. If you can't transfer the file with an adb push or root explorer.
i have a tablet wt-pad012 by indiaworldtech dot in its rooted and it has contactsstorage.apk so can put backup contacts via go contacts but cannot add individually so need contacts.apk ics 4.0.3 i have tried using copying to system/app and reboot and also using root unistaller to install as system app with premission rw-r-r but none work the apk is not installing not showing up in app drawer and setting so plz help me
same issue, different tablet
Same issue, different tablet. mine is called a "WonderMedia M-270" according to google play.
Got it at black friday. Works great, it will even make a phone call over WiFi.
But since it was never meant to be a phone...or someone just screwed up, there is not contacts.apk. That means that when I am in an email program, none of my addresses show. In a chat program, I even have to type out each and every contact before I can send to them.
This is VERY frustrating indeed.
any help? I have several Contacts.apk I have downloaded. But since this is not a rooted device, it will not allow me to install or place this in teh appropriate folder.
Hi,
I used a pattern lock and a friend tried to often to unlock with the wrong one so I get a message now telling me I should login with gmail address and pw to unlock.
Problem now is I know the password but I don't know my gmail address (only needed it for play store on that phone).
So I flashed the kernel with cwm 6.x.x to that I9100g phone and I can get in that cwm and plugin the usb cable to my pc. I
can now use adb on my pc. So is there a way/a command in adb to find out which gmail address I used?

If you have a custom rom, boot into recovery and format system. Then reflash your rom and anything else your ROM needs flashed to work. You will have to set up a new Google account losing your contacts emails and paid apps... but if you ever remember your old google account, you can log in as both and get everything back. (Your free apps and data are saved.) If you used titanium backup, you can restore your old accounts. (Or any other backup app that saves your account)

The files now in my data folder(s) are the only chance to find the used gmail adress so wiping everything isn't an option
I searched around via adb (while I was in cwm6 and mounted /data) and found the file /data/system/accounts.db and in there I found my gmail adress :good:

Sorry that I respond to an old post, but I have a problem. My grandma forgot her google account password and I've tried for hours to guess it and I remembered about the adb stuff. I am very noob at adb stuff and I need help. Can I somehow find her google account password using some adb commands? She has a phone with android 5.1 if that info is of any help. I activated the usb debugging but the phone is not rooted. I really need to find her password so I can get her the covid certificate(green pass or whatever it's called). Also she didn't put her phone number or a recovery email so that's a no go, I've tried that. Can someone help me, please?
Sorry for necroposting but im in an excat same situation but im a noob at this. Can someone tell me how he did it?
Hi All,
Long time reader, first time poster (hopefully in the right section). I am an absolute novice so please bear with me. I rooted my Razr M (XT905) to remove a bunch of the pre installed apps.
All worked fine and phone runs great. But I cant import my contacts from my google account. Gmail and app store syncing works fine, just contacts are missing.
When I access the options menu in the contact section, google isn't showing. When I look at the accounts in the settings menu, the google account is there and has the option checked to sync 'people details' (guessing this is the same as contacts).
So I'm guessing I've deleted something when removing the apps.
Any ideas as to what I might have done and how I can fix this?
Appreciate any help.

You should have a contacts sync option in Google acount. Maybe you deleted GoogleContacstSyncAdapter.apk or ContactsProvider.apk from /system/app folder

Which android version are you using? I'm attaching 4.4 version apks for you, but I'm not sure if it will work with previous Android versions. Put the apks in system/app folder (ContactsProvider should go to system/priv-app if you're on Android 4.4), change permissions to 644 (see attached image) and reboot.
If those don't work, try searching for apks from the same Android version as yours. You can find it in xda.
Please reply if it worked or not cause another user can try and help you too, but i hope it helps bro.

Thanks for the replies. Using 4.1.2.
When I've tried to copy the GoogleContactsSyncAdapter file using ES File Explorer, I get the message in the attached screenshot. How do I get around this?
Gotta mount the system as Read/Write(should be something similar to this: On the left hand panel "Tools->Root Explorer->Mount R/W" then pick your preferred options.) , and make sure to change the permissions once you move them there (here's a short little video guide - older ES, but same idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hhXuQ0_B28).
I also hope you aren't trying to use the ones posted here for this as it surely won't work properly.
Did you make sure to see if you were actually missing those apps?
Thanks again for the replies.
All good now. Flashed the pacman 4.4 update with the correct apps and all working.
Only problem now is wifi wont turn on. When I toggle it on, it stays grey and no networks are detected.
Any suggestions for this issue?
Never mind, all sorted, thanks again
