Hi, all
I do not have any contacts saved inside the phone, so ended to sync contacts from facebook, google, whatsapp and friendcaster.
After the syncing, I do able to access to Contacts, however when i select the recipient, error shows below:
"The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
So how to resolve this issue???
Here below is my phone details:
Phone: SGS2 i9100
Android Ver: 2.3.5
Baseband Version: i9100XXKI4
Kernel Version: [email protected] #97
Build number: Touch X-POWER+XWKI8 1.0
What is the exact situation...you open the contacs app and that crashes or does something crash while you want to choose a contact within an app?
And you don't have any contacts stored on the phone? Where else do you save your contacts?
what i mean is that the contact crashes when i am trying to access it.
Ok. Did you try to recover/reinstall your contacs app through titanium, if you have it?
But again : where do you save your contacts if not on the phone?
it has been answered in the thread of the Rom..
It's to do with Google+ 2.0 uninstall it (as it has been lifted from ICS) and if you need it reinstall it from the market
quote from Post 5 in Rom thread
Touch X-POWER+ XWKI8 x.x
OFFICIAL RESPONE TO USERS WITH FC IN CONTACTS!
Yes, if you got problems with FC (force Close) then remove google+ 2.0 as its a rip from new icecream sandwich and it should work.
For me with NEW FORMATTED SD CARDS (both internal and external) i have not got theese problems at all, so maybe there is a orphant file or something making and causing the FC...
Stock GSII here and the uninstall of G+ 2.0 worked for me, +1 for you.
Can someone then tell me why my "Connection Tracker" (Free app on market) is crashing upon boot with CheckROM? it works fine on Stock ROM
i got same problem. no contacts in the phone only sync to gmail account.
I use litening rom and stock rom as well. I did remove google+. but problem still exists

Hi there,
I'm currently running Hydrog3n ROM build from 26th of March running 4.0.3 ICS AOKP, this has been updated numerous times (nearly daily) and is now at 4.0.4, I want to update to the latest version and am curious as to what I can restore from Titanium Backup to ensure I keep my account details (passwords etc) for my email accounts and other apps.
I've previously tried to restore the email.apk and also the Exchange Services file, however last time I did this was going from another AOKP 4.0.3ICS rom to Hydrog3n rom and I kept getting a "force close" error message every time I tried to launch the email app.
Also is there a way in Titanium Backup to restore SMS/MMS messages? I've previously been using a separate app to do this, basically it exports all my messages to an xml file then reimports them.
Thanks in advance.
Hi guys,
I've recently installed Litening ROM 2.6 (XWLP4) with Siyah 3.0.1.
Everything is smooth however, the contacts is force closing when I try to change a contact.
Some old thread suggested to uninstall Google+ 2.0, but I now have disabled the 2.4 version, but the problem remains.
If I clear the cash of my conacts, will it delete my contacts/phone numbers?
Thats the only solution I can think of..
One backup data and factory reset .
Two reinstall rom reading all the instructions in full .
jje
try fixing permissions.
Hello
Since I have upgraded my S2 from GB v2.3.5 to ICS v4.0.4 stock ROM and rooted it, I have a problem with the calendar.
I'm using only the Android calendar (My calendar), not Google's one.
I create a new appointment --> OK
I try to modify it but I can't because the Edit choice is not available in the menu.
I noticed that :
- previously created entries are not affected,
- newly created entries using Outlook and synced with Kies are also not affected.
Those non affected entries can only be modified once, the Modify option disappears after first modification.
I've tried to change all the (few) options but without any success.
Could it be a permission's issue ? How to fix it ?
If you have any ideas, they will be much appreciated.

I would suggest looking into two things:
1/ Make sure the version of the calendar app you're using is the most updated one from the market. If not - try updating it and see if that helps
2/ You can try clearing data (just in case in your rom upgrade process something got confused in the data). You do that by going into settings > applications > all (or downloaded - it doesn't matter) > your calendar app > clear data. Reboot the phone and try again.
I hope it works
Solved !!!
I found the solution.
I cleared the data for the app named "Calendar storage" (caution, not "Calendar") and then every new entry in the calendar can be edited now, even after several modifications.
Of course, this clears all the entries you have in your local calendar.
So a backup before is necessary (Kies export or Kies sync with Outlook) to be able to restore it after and get your calendar data back.
Thanks to all.
Hope it will help those who are stuck like I was.
The thread status can be put to SOLVED and then be closed.
Same issue when upgrading from ICS to JB
Same issue when upgrading from ICS to JB : unable to edit any existing calendar entry.
So same solution with this little difference : as Calendar and Tasks have been merged into one app named "S Calendar", clearing data will act on both types.
So to recover data, it is necessary to clear Kies sync logs for both and then sync them again.
Hi all, I have a real strange problem I cannot underststand.
Since two or three days, my S3 has been freezing every few minutes.
I restored factory settings and installed latest italian original firmware without root or anything.
I powered it up and, after having logged in to Google during the initial setup, my Phone freezes.
I thought it was a hardware problem, but, after trying and trying, I discovered that if I toggle off Syncing, everything works fine.
Any idea?
I am going to try a custom rom, because I cannot really understand the problem.
My stock is: I9300XXEMA2_I9300ITVEMA1_ITV
TIA

did you try to switch off certain parts that are synced (e.g. contacts, calendar etc.) to isolate the problem?
Yes, it could be caused by Picasa... but not sure at all

well try to deactivate only Picasa and see, maybe it tries to sync all pictures and you got too many to bear?
I tried, no success
Try clearing Google services framework data, and all Google app data, or remove Google account and wipe cache/dalvik then add account again

I've got the exact problem, but since I turned sync off (by the pulling-down menu) my SGS3 has managed to stay on for an hour without freezing. The very minute I turn sync on, it freezes again, and it does'nt matter what I'm doing at that moment, if I'm browsing the internet och just flipping around in the settings or using the Play store.
Samsung says they havn't heard of this before..
Have you tried the custom ROM?
Here is how solved.
I added the google account. I pressed "cancel" while it was syncing.
Then I deactivated Sync with Picasa and Google+ Photo.
Moreover I clicked "Settings -> Apps -> All Apps -> Gallery -> Clear Data".
In my gallery, now, I only see Camera Photos... everything is working fine.
Let me know if it works for you.
P.S. Custom ROMS I tried did not have this problem.

I've been having the exact same error (Unfortunately the process android.process.acore has stopped) for almost a week. In my case though, i have a Sony Xperia ZL with 4.4.4 stock rom, and i only obtain this error after installing facebook, messenger, trucaller, google calendar and/or onenote. With those uninstalled, both contacts and phone apps work fine, but right after installing one of them, the error comes back.
I already tried clearing contacts storage, calendar storage, contacts sync, contacts app data, with no luck, and I don't want to do a factory reset, nor flash.
Help
