I'm searching for an app on Android to monitor a wifi connection to see which people are on the wireless network.
I need this app for an assignment for school, a teacher asked to search for such app so he, and other teachers, can use it during the exams to see if students are cheating.
1 - Use your providers Data Connection (3G, GPRS, etc...), and cheat all you want.
2 - You don't need your phone to cheat... Even if you use your phone, you can cheat without any kind of connection (for example, take a picture of what you want to know, and use zoom). I'm from the time where we cheated on paper, or writing on skin.
3 - Even if you use wireless, your teacher has almost no way of knowing what others are doing in the intranet.
4 - Why do you want to help your teacher catching you and your classmate cheating?? Let him search for that himself.
That would however be a useful app to have, at least to check how many phones are connected to the router. Anyone knows of such an app?
It's some sort of an assignment, we have a course called network and datasecurity and we have to find ways to check up on wireless connections with your phone.
Wifikill. It's in the market.

there are some app to make internet using for free? or some text files changes to do this ?
and were can i get custom rom torrents ?
sorry for my bad english
It's just impossible .
The easy answer: You can't. You either have no internet connection, or you pay some provider to have an internet connection. They have to pay for their network connection too you know.
The hard answer: Read Computer Networks (5th Edition) - by Andrew S. Tanenbaum. Then something like Hacking: The Art of Exploitation, 2nd Edition - by Jon Erickson. Hack into your provider's infrastructure. Depending on your country you will now face several years of jailtime. With some luck there is free internet access included.
NB: Actual punishable offense enactment is not endorsed by me. This is merely for personal enjoyment.
Sometimes there are proxy hacks that allow for free data, but most of the time you get extremely slow data rates and limited capabilities. Not worth it IMO. A data plan is well worth it's cost especially on Android.
Dont think so
I have never heard nothing about it....its not even possible
You can't get free internet in your mobile device, one way is only Wi-Fi but if you want free internet in every time on your mobile you need pay for network traffic.
It isn't worth the trouble to do this. And it definitely doesn't last long. Just use WiFi and stick to that.
Impossible ?
We need a contract for accessing internet.

Hey guys,
I was wondering if there was any app in development that let me use my phone as a real Walkie Talkie.
What I mean is, instead of using my network connection or accessing an external access point, is the any app that lets me use the wifi module in my phone, connect to another phone and transmit audio data between the phones?
I'll make it simple.
> Say I am part of a major event where my buddies and I using cameras to record from different angles.
>Instead of using Walkie Talkies to contact each other, can we turn on an app that lets uses my wifi module to connect to his module and relay voice messages between both the phones?
Services like Tickl are dependent on the strength of the ISP. I am looking for an app that allows me to create a secure connection based on the hardware already present on the phone.
If I can use my phone to connect to the internet, and in fact use it to create a Wifi Hotspot, why cant I use it to do something measly as say call for free in a large room or any event where it isn't feasible to shout?

it is for real walkie no internet but need hardware.
Craig's Walky Talky!
ok, this does not use voip, no servers, no Internet required!
It has 2 modes
1st mode (default on run) it simply uses your wifi modem to relay your voice data, so everyone using the app on the same wifi network can hear each other!
2nd mode "enable ap" this turns your phone into a wifi router, once enabled on 1 device.. on the other android device click wifi and scan for the ap from the first device..
This mode allows you to talk out in the open anywhere anyplace using just 2 or more android devices just like a real walky talky!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.walkytalky.craigs.walkytalky
you have a range issue with relying on a wifi chip only.
google : " smart your walkie talkie "
Range issues with wifi chip?
Well yes... it's a mobile phone, not a walky talky!

Look for PMR - Walkie Talkie WiFi on Google Play . I used it on my 2 phones: Galaxy S1 and A5. This app uses WiFi connection.
You can talk to one or many persons. Range 100-150 meters, probably depends on phone.
Zello works great. It runs on internet or Wifi all you have to do is download and make an account then find each other by user name. You can make a group channel with multiple contacts or talk individually.
I've never seen anything like this and I don't know how I'd begin to search for it, so I'm asking here.
When I am at school, certain sites (like Facebook) are blocked, yet things like GMail are not. So I can either use the school Wifi (saving Data Usage and Battery) or access Facebook et cetera.
What I want to know is if it's possible to customise whether an app uses Mobile Network or Wifi on an individual basis. This would, of course, be ideal (but I've never heard of it). How hard would it be to implement?
Blah, blah, blah, discuss.
Use eNETraffic. It is a firewall that allows you to control each apps connection. Wifi and network. Works great. You have to be rooted though. Good luck.

I have what probably is a strange request, but here goes:
I'm getting the kid a Galaxy S2 for Christmas - it costs just as much to add her to my plan as it does to buy the prepaid minutes for her
I need to know if there's an app out there that can "lock" the ability to use tethering and mobile hotspot. Yeah, I know she can just download a different tethering app from Google Play and use that, but I want to make it a little more difficult for her Ideally it would have a "schedule" where it can be locked out during certain times, or at the very least a "passcode" that can be entered to allow the access.
I'm not concerned with data usage, but at home I have the Wifi turn off at midnight so she'll actually go to bed, and I know if she can tether or use the hotspot she'll just do that and stay up and watch anime all night
So, is there something out there that can do this? My searches have been rather fruitless so far.
Hey,
Does anyone know of an app what can help me automatically switch Wi-Fi based in hirsignal strengths, I have 3 connections in the house all of them have the same SSID but they're all in different places around the house basically I am looking for an app to reconnect Wi-Fi if there is an available connectable SSID 20% stronger signal.
All of the apps I've found only support different SSID's which is rather annoying.
You can give tasker a try, im not sure if it will allow you to do exactly what you ask. Surely it will be much easier if all the name of the 3 wifi were different, at that point I think android should automatically switch to the most powerful one.

Hey,
I realised tht if they had different names android would automatically switch but there are like 15 wireless devices in the house and setting then all up to 3 wireless connections is a hassle especially with setting up static IP's and proxy settings for adblock plus.
Also when we have friends and family over they're more than welcome to use the Wi-Fi so it makes more hassle.
I'll have a look into tasker, thanks for your reply.
Update:
I'm so not understanding this Tasker, I can't work out how to do this... I've done a few other things but seriously can't get my head around this exact need.
