[Q] Rsap - HTC EVO 3D + Audi MMI help - HTC EVO 3D

Hello,
We are trying unsuccessfully to get Rsap working and was wondering if maybe anyone here can help..
What I’ve done:
I have rooted the HTC EVO 3d successfully and Android super user is working correctly.
I have successfully installed the installation files, following these instructions: android-rsap / installation
I have purchased the app and installed it.
When I start the app I see the following:
Bluetooth state:
not connected
STP records not fixed
SIM state:
Normal phone operation
Then we tried to connect it to the Audi MMI, I have followed other forum instructions and deleted all old pairing links on the phone and MMI.
I make sure the Bluetooth on the phone is discoverable and search for the phone via the MMI.
The phone is found but when we try to make a connection I only have the options: hands free or Music player…. No sap profile.
I tried to first make a hands free link and then try to find a sap profile on the MMI to no avail..
I have tried all possible scenarios with pairing the phones but I do not see a SAP profile.
When connected to the MMI in hands free mode all the Rsap settings on the phone seen above stay the same, not connect or fixed.
Am I missing something? I have read that a sap paired connecting need a x16 long password handshake?
Do I need to activate something on the MMI or phone to bring up the sap profile on the MMI?
Ps: the MMI is from the new Audi A8 and is Rasp compatible, I do see an option on the search for new telephone screen on the MMI: connect a telephone or add SIM. Unfortunately I cannot select this.
Grateful for ANY help!!!
Thanks,
John

Update:
I have the same thread running at the Rsap developers site, I got an answer from who I think is the developer:
“It looks like the Audi A8 is also a victim of the "SDP fix" problem, like the Porsche PCM. Sadly I did never have a chance to test the app with an A8 myself and I don't get much feedback from Audi drivers. Although it seems to run with an A6 with HTC stock ROM. You may try to flash an AOSP custom ROM like CyanogenMod, this does not have the "SDP fix" issue.
The next problem is probably bigger: No one confirmed so far that the HTC EVO3D works at all with my rSAP app. Since the phone is quite similar to the HTC Sensation chances are high that it will not.”
So that’s unfortunate, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a ROM etc. that does allow RSAP?
Thanks again for any help,
John

Nobody with the EVO 3D GSM has any rSAP knowledge?
I was hoping to find someone on such an active forum..
Anybody know of a ROM for the GSM version without the SDP fix problem?
Thanks,

Remote SIM Access Profile (rSAP) on Touch Dual

Hi All, I have a company car coming (a Passat) and I understand from a colleague it has a built in bluetooth car kit that requires access using rSAP. Does anyone know if the latest 6.1 stock rom from HTC has the rSAP setting/function? I really don't want to have to change my Touch Dual (MDA Touch Plus) for another phone like the Touch Diamond if I can help it. If someone knows of a work around then I'd appreciate it if they can offer me any help. Many thanks!
Hi, I feel foolish as I've now realised tha the T-Mobile rom does offer rSAP access. I expected the settings to be under the connections tab but it was under the systems tab! I wondered if any of you kind people could let me know if the new 6.1 rom has a SAPSettings icon so I can upgrade and know I'm not going to loose a vital function.
Hi Dean !
Yes it has rSAP settings. It works with the Passat. /Touch dual-Niki/ Europian version.
Thanks [email protected], I have tried the 6.0 rom with my Passat. I can initially connect OK and use the phone no problem but once I leave the car and return it just says "connecting" when I insert my car key and nothing happens. I think I will have to update my rom to the newer 6.1 version and I'm hoping this will cure my problem.

[Please Help] Bluetooth Funtion --> It can pair but unable to be connected

Dear all,
I'm a new member here also It's my first experience using an android phone.
Lets get into my problem.
It's related with my hero's bluetooth function. I have tried to pair and connect with many phone starting with BB Bold, Nokia e51, Samsung star. The problem is same that my phone can be paired with those phone but it was failed to connect with them.
Please help me for the hero's lovers here, what must I do / any suggestion?
My phone information:
Firmware Vers.: 1.5
Software Vers: 1.0.0.A6288
Sorry to inform you that the Bluetooth function on the Hero is only for connecting to a headset, at this present time you cannot pair, send or receive files with out and app from the market. Even then to receive you have to be rooted and then the apps don't actually work on the Hero perfectly as of yet. HTC may fix this but I don't think it will be very high on the priority list of to do's!
Ohh mine.. It's too bad to know the fact. I think it will be almost completed features if HTC develops more this feature.
@seanyowl --> many thanks for your information.
I would like to confirm my understanding based on your explanation as following:
1. For now, the function of blue-tooth in HTC can not for pair or even receiving file. It just for connecting to a headset, not with other phones. Is it right?
2. If i want to receive or send files through this feature, I should have an apps which supports this function, is that right? So what is the name of apps?
3. What is the meaning of this statement "Even then to receive you have to be rooted"?
I'm sorry asking this question since it's my first time using android phone and smartphone. It's a big jump for me from my old phone (siemens ME 45)
Many thanks for help and support for me in this thread.

[Q] Wifi 4.2 Bluetooth problem

Hi,
in our warehouse I use the Galaxy Wifi 4.0 with a Motorola RS507 bluetoothscanner for orderpicking.
I have 10 of them all working without any problem. Now I needed 10 more, but the 4.0 is replaced by the 4.2. So I bought them instead.
But I cannot get the scanners working with this device.
If I want to connect the scanner I get the message:
Confirm passkey is xxxxxx to pair with RS507 1234
I can press "Accept" or "Decline"
When I press "Accept", it says "paired" but I cannot use the device. Also the device give no confirmation sound that it is connected.
On all the other devices (Wifi 4.0, Galaxy S, Lenovo A1 Tablet) I get the message:
Confirm password to pair with "RS507 1234"
Then I only have to press Accept and the device is paired and working.
Does anyone have a similar problem with another bluetooth device and knows a solution how I can connect the scanner?
If it will not work I have to look around for the old Galaxy Wifi 4.0.
Thanks for your help.

Try enabling CONFIG_BT_HID in your kernel. I say this since the scanner's datasheet has blutooth HID listed, the 4.2 kernel doesn't have it enabled, and my 4.0 *does* have it enabled. In the 4.0 it's configured as a module, but you could try getting away with linking it directly in your kernel just in case the 4.2's init scripts/ueventd doesn't load it.
If you need help doing this let me know in a PM.

Hi,
I've tried connecting Android to various other BT scanners before (using the SPP) and have not had problems. But I'm struggling on the RS unit.
What I normally do is on other scanners is turn pairing on for the scanner, connect and pair to the unit from the phone. Then start my application on the phone, which initiates the connection to the scanner and connects. Then I can read from the scanner and all works well.
On the RS this seems different, as you don't seem to put the RS in pair mode and connect to it. instead the process seems to be to scan a barcode on/for the device (with MAC id?) and the RS connects?
Either way, I have not managed to get this to work.
Can someone provide me with the correct process to connect the RS to an android device in SPP mode?
Any help or working code example would be much appreciated!

[Q] HTC Velocity 4G Bluetooth problem

Few months back Bluetooth worked fine in my HTC Velocity 4G and the OS was 2.x.x. Suddenly it started to malfunction. Bluetooth is working. Can search and find for Bluetooth devices. Can pair (but doesn't ask for the passcode confirmation). But,
1. Cannot connect to the paired device.
2. Cannot send or receive files. When share through Bluetooth it just nothing happens. Same for the file receiving.
I did reset but didn't solve the problem. Therefore I updated the OS to 4.0.3, then reset the phone. But no result. Any help please!
I have thesame issue with my htc velocity 4g too.
someone pls help!!

[Q] Interfacing with car messaging (MAP)

Hi All,
I am looking for bluetooth support. I think the rel, evant feature is called MAP (Message Application Program).
I am such a noob, but I have a very interesting problem that i hope will wet the appetite of the very smart people here...If this is the wrong place to post this thread, please redirect me.
I have a 2013 Mazda 3 that is equipped with a bluetooth system. It has some kind of interface (not even sure what to call it), that will download text messages from compatible phones. My phone is compatible, it is an LG Spectrum. When I first sync'd it with the car, it did download the messages as designed. Then, for some reason, it just stopped downloading them. The car gives a message "download failed. Try again later". I feel pretty strongly that this is a phone issue, not a car issue.
I'm on android system 4.0.4 (ICS, I think?) I've tried unpairing the phone and deleting the profile on both the car and the phone, then pulling the battery out of the phone while it was turned on. Same results.
Can anybody think of any reason this would have stopped working? Any suggestions on what I might try next? During the time the phone stopped downloading messages, I think there was an update to the phone. If that is the problem is there a way to un-update it?
Thank you for any assistance you may be able to offer.
Tom
