First of all this is NOT my work. Cudos to FXP team.
This is the cwm recovery that FXP had posted a while ago in the FreeXperia mini pro thread. At that time all we got was a fuzzy distorted image. I tested it again today and to my surprise I could boot in cwm and bypass the distortion by pressing the volume buttons repeatedly! Below is the flashable image that FXP had posted (only through xrecovery). Keep in mind that by flashing it you lose dual recovery.
PS. Tried to flash cm7.1-mimmi but was stuck to zombiepanic logo. Beware!

Thanks for the post. The reason you cant boot is because you need the fxp kerenl for the official cm7.1/ Please correct me if im wrong about this.
Cheers,
Evilbarcode
Small thing to say: flash it with xRecovery, CWM from ver. 3.0 don't know amend crypting
And the recovery have many of No options
ok the CWM works on "slade87_MiniCM6_v5.0_FINAL" but i dont wanna test CM 7.1 before there is an kernel from FXP with CWM 4.x in it..
*edit*
ive installed it by replacing the Recovery.tar file (dosnt installed chargemon file)
ALERT!!! Don't try to flash CM 7.1 after flashing this recovery! It freezes at boot screen and you must restore with SEUS or flash with flashtool(can't acess cwm after flashing CM 7.1).

Hi all,
I rooted my SGS2 (KE7) with CF-Root ages ago and haven't done much since then, aside from take regular backups.
Looking at the Cyanogenmod stuff, I fancy giving it a go. All the guides talk about using the kernel at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693 .
Does anyone know if I can flash the cyanogenmod ROM using the recovery mode I have with CF-Root, or if I need to get use the kernel from the above patch first?
This morning I tried installing the kernel (from the CF-Root CWM), when my phone rebooted, the touchscreen worked on the unlock page but not once I unlocked (I use LauncherPro as my launcher). Rebooting into recovery mode didn't work (the phone just booted normally) so I reflashed CF-Root but still had the same problem however I could boot into recovery mode and restore this morning's backup.
Now, the phone boots (with the warning triangle, expected) but there is no response after I unlock for a minute or so. Setting the stock launcher back works but I'm confused about why this should happen and what I should do next.
Does anyone know why my non-stock launcher is now being non-responsive for the first minute after boot / what I can do to get it back?
Am I able to install cyanogen with CF-root, or do I need to use the kernel in the above link? and if so, do I need to do anything other than just flash and if not why didn't the phone boot into recovery when I tried it earlier?
Any suggestions gratefully received!
-Jeff
The cf-root kernel is all you need to install cm7.

This is correct. However, after you install the cm7 .zip the first time, it will have only installed the kernel for cyanogen mod. So you will then need to boot back into recovery with 3 button mode and run the zip install again from there. You will then have CM7.

Don't quite understand this. I've got the cm_galaxys2_full-39.zip (100MB), I was going to put this on the SD card, boot into recovery mode and install from there. Are you saying I need to do this same process twice? (and if so, why does it only install the kernel the first time when it is the complete zip file?)
Cheers,

CF-root => Cyanogen mod
Hello everybody,
There are a few threads that discuss this question, but they all draw a different conclusion.
This one for instance : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367933 (or if the link is broken, search for : How can i use cf-root kernel for cm7?).
In the thread above they claim that CF-root is not compatible with CM7, however in this very thread there is said that when installing the .zip file twice, it should work just fine. As i'd like to install CM7 on my CF-rooted S2, i have to know for sure:
Is there a way to install CM7 on a CF-rooted device?
Many thanks
Rom manager doesnt work with cf root, so to flash cm7 download the zip, boot into recovery, and flash the zip twice, and it will work.
Make sure you wipe data and cache, and take backups before you do.

Ok, i'll give it a go .
Thanks for the quick response, it is much appreciated!
I tried flashing the latest FXP CM9 ROM on my X10, but it got stuck right at the SE orb. I've tried flashing multiple times but the error is always the same.
There are two files, one with kernel and one without. I suppose I should install the one with the kernel and so I did via Flashtool. For some reason though, I can't seem to get the Flashtool to install CWM to try the other version without the kernel. I wasn't able to ask for root perms either despite the phone having root. Any idea?

For FXP CM9 you need unlocked bootloader for starters as described here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253277 Follow carefully as if you mess it up u can perma break your signal, you then need the latest FXP Kernel for the ROM which is provided in the package from FXP, Install the Kernel boot into CWM5 and then install ROM also make sure your on BB .71 i believe although dont quote me on that.
You shouldnt have any SE Splash logo or orb logo, should be FXP logo and CM9 boot ani.
Good Luck hope you get there in end!

Hello there,
I have recently attempted to install a custom ROM on my Xperia U . I rooted using bin4ry , then unlocked bootloader. Everything was fine up to that point. Then I tried to use RecoverX to install CWM. The tool said it was a success, but device could not boot into recovery. It looked like the tool did nothing. I then found a custom kernel by AOKP that had CWM Recovery in it. I flashed and got recovery , but stuck in bootloop. I recovered from this by flashing B.10 stock firmware on my Xperia U using flashtools. I am now looking for ways to install CWM recovery safely.
What's the best way to install CWM in my current situation?
What caused the bootloop I experienced(out of curiosity)?

AOKP is not stock rom..
so its kernel is also not based n stok rom...thats why you got bootloop...
just download kernel which is based on sock rom like trancsend kernek...or phantom...
if you have jb then experimenatal kernel will be best....
and use flashtool to flash kernel...it is the easiest way to flash kernel..
all this kernels are prerooted and has cwm 6.x.x recovery.....
you will get this kernels in devlopment section....
Thank you!
Got it working!
I started off by installing transcendence kernel for stock ROMs. That went flawlessly and so I was presented with CWM recovery(which I started by repeatedly pressing Vol- when the transcendence logo comes up). Went to look for a ROM and found MIUI v4 for Xperia U, followed the instructions and flashed with CWM recovery.Very beautiful ROM. I got all my files from the Xperia U Development section.
Thanks for your help and a big thank you to the developers who make this possible. highfive:

Most kernels nowadays have light notification or vibration or borh for the time you need to press the volume button for cwn, if yours does you only need to press it once within 3 seconds.
Ok, I am going to list my problem/query along with information i have gathered over the best part of 3 hours.
So, I have been doing some research regarding CWM recovery to be installed on my x10. I have already rooted and BLU my x10 and every thread I have read says that CWM is the most simplest way to put customised ROMs onto my phone. RecoverX, both PC and APK version, has been suggested several times accross XDA and other forums as the program to use to instal CWM. This is not the case as it only offers xRecovery, which although says it is installed succesfully, doesnt work. I also read that Rom Manager APK by clockworkmod would do it but it says that x10 is unsupported. But it does ask if it have installed a clockwork based mod manually.
Does anyone here at XDA know how I can get it installed?
I am currently running android 2.3.3 and was trying to get it upgraded to the MIUI ICS for X10 as seen in this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774623
Cheers, any help or advice would be appreciated.
Just install FeraKernel v18.4 or DoomKernel v6, both of which have CWM built in.
FeraKernel has a later date CWM version.
If you install an old version of Flashtool cira 0.8.6, it came with CWM Recovery and xRecovery which could be installed from Flashtool menus.
Before you flash FeraKernel or DoomKernel, have the ROM zip you wish to install with CWM on the X10 while it's running GB 2.3.3
This way when FeraKernel or DoomKernel are flashed to get access to CWM, you don't have to worry about WiFi and Graphics drivers as you already have your ROM on the phone and ready to go and just need to tap the volume up button to access CWM as the Kernel boots for the first time.
Enjoy.

Well I can't seem to find the old version of flashtool 0.8.6.0 nor doomkernel v6. The doom kernels keep referring me to broken links or hotfile which has been taken down. The ferakernel 18.4 seem to crash while being flash thus aborting the whole process. Was wandering if you have the older doomkernel or flashtool lying around or anyone who does who could do a fresh upload link please?
Thanks
Solved!
Finally got this sorted. After about 4 ours of trailing through the net. I found a 0.8.0.0 version of flashtool and an update to 0.8.6.0. If anyone is need of these files to get CWM recovery for X10 do let me know. Happy Chappy now. Thank you Dr Goodvibes.
You're welcome.
