Galaxy Ace take silent on call <SOLVED> - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

While I was using Samsung Monte, One phone call (taken), I took the phone to silent by turning 180 degrees.
Is there such a feature in this Galaxy ace?

I tried it, didn^t work. Instead of pressing the volume button, closing button of the phone (right above), going through a quiet situation.
Thanks for your interest.

You should hold any volume button for a second and then it goes silent. And if you want it to go silent when you turn it 180 install flip silent or whatever.

Hit the power button to silent an incoming call, "not rejecting it", JUST MAKING IT SILENT. It would also make the screen go off... hope it helps

Prevent Screen from Locking when receiving or Making a Call ??

Is there anyway to prevent the screen going into lock mode when either making a call or receiving a call as this is very annoying when using the sat nav and then a call comes in and then locks the screen and turns it off whilst I am answering it. This of course then shuts off the sat nav ??
Any help appreciated.
Me too! Toshiba must think we are too inept to press the power button.....
I can remember when I got a call and answered on my bluetooth headset whilst trying to navigate
Come on people, there must be somebody that knows how to switch this off, hard to believe that more people dont suffer with this.
It has to be in the registry somewhere, I have had a look and found the settings but I will mess around with it tommorow and hopefully find the fix!
Now to stop the annoying shutter sound on full volume when taking pictures..... lol

Try this (taken from modaco, it worked on mine)
You can't mute the shutter sound , It sounds loud even in silent mode!!! Thats very indiscreet....
I've found two solutions:
1) (Obvious) To edit the file sonority.wav on \Windows
Or to modify the register
HKLM\System\Pictures\Camera\GeneralSetting\ShutterSound
Replace Current (0) for 2 This number links to a file Thunder.Wav that doesn't exist
Oooh the camera one works! I tried changing the volume key to 0 but that didn't work!
I did what you said with the Thunder.Wav and it worked brilliantly! Thank you!
Now screen lock, Press the power button before the annoying screen comes on. Does that stop it from locking?
If it doesn't, try this, when the screen pops up informing the screen is about to be locked, press the power button (basically beat it from turning it off) and press the power button to turn it back on. It seems to work some of the times on mine

Not working for me, the lock message just pops back up again..
incidently the Reg should work as well on the camera issue as thats what I done to get mine working, although as long as it has worked thats all that matters.
Anyone else assist with this issue ?

i think this just delays the lock screen by 22 secs or so... & that the lock screen returns every 22 sec interval thoughout the call...
did you ever find the reg setting for this? do you mind sharing whre you were looking inb the reg for the setting?
on htc i think it's mklm\drivers\builtin\ril\EnableFastDormantDisplayDuringCall
but tg01 does not have this....
cheers
I have tried looking in the registry and I havent been able to find anything!
There must be a way to stop it locking..... and the setting must be in the registry if it only locks after 22 seconds after pressing the power button!
It is very annoying, I just hope the new 6.5.3 rom when it gets released will not have this so called feature.
What were they thinking...

now, what to change to stop that terrible noise when we start and stop video recording?

[Q] lacking silent mode

On my other phones, when you keep pushing volume down, the ringer transitions from ring, to vibrate, to silent. But on the the photon, it goes from ring to vibrate. How do I tottaly silence it?
I wish there was a silent toggle. Sometimes I want both the ring to vibrate...but not always. I need a quick toggle.
if you press and hold the power button. it will pop up a menu. sound off is one of the options. you can also set the sounds off using the settings app.
I'd recommend downloading "simple sound profile widget" - it is similar to the profiles back when I had a nextel and a black berry. I put a widget that has the option of normal, silent, or vibrate - very quick and easy!

Or just hold the down volume key and when you feel it vibrate, you will be in Silent mode...
I know what u mean
This option was gone since froyo for some weird reason
Only cm7 brings that way back (via volume rocker)
sent from MoPho
Oh yeah. Probably would've helped if I read teh manual, but who does that
I wish there was a way to turn on vibrate individually quickly instead of going through the settings.
Huh?! It isn't gone. I use it all the time. Just press and hold the down volume key and it'll switch to Silent Mode...

it either goes ring to silent
or ring to vibrate
as i said back in the day, it would go from ring to vibrate to silent
to the OP, go to settings, sound, and play with the vibrate settings and ull get what u want
Yeah, that's right...
My bad, I didn't really check.
Damn, why'd they remove that feature...

[Q] Mute button for incoming call ringer

Can a mute button be placed between the Accept and Reject sliders? It should mute the incoming call ringer if double clicked.
Muting with the hardware volume rocker is a bit inconvenient at times.
If someone can create a mod for the stock then that would be great, rather than using any 3rd party app.
Does it fancy anyone else?
I use the Flip to mute feature in the settings and it works well.
Hope this Help

One touch on the power button? (stock rom)
the power button rejects the call, the volume down button mutes it.

On my "I9100UHKI1" stock rom, the power button dont rejects the call, he mutes the ringer and turn off the screen.
After this, i can press again to turn on the screen and accept the call.
This is the default config on my rom
To change: "Config->Acessibility->The power key ends calls"
Thank you for your responses. However still hoping for a solution that gets the button on the screen. Double click and the ringer is quiet.

On call proximity works but

when I remove the phone from my ear I get a blank screen, have to hit the power button to get the screen back or it returns when the call ends

Yes, this can be annoying.
It depends on the duration of the call, but if it is long enough, it is as if the phone went into battery saving mode (I have stamina on)
Then for me to end the call, I have to manually turn the screen on (with power button), swipe the screenlock, then press END.
I am sure this will get addressed in future updates..well, It'd better!

V10 vibrate mode

God damnit. I'm so sick of having my phone on vibrate (most of the time because I'm at work) and then clicking on a facebook video or opening an app that has music/videos in it, and sound come blaring out of the phone in the office even on vibrate. Please tell me someone has figured out how to make the V10's "Vibrate" mode truly vibrate only as in NO sound plays from any app on the phone without having to open the app and then manually turn the volume down...
Thanks
Can't help you there. I don't think there's a completely silent option. Best way is to just set to vibrate, tap on the settings icon next to the volume slider, and just turn the last one all the way down. If I remember correctly, the marshmallow update should fix that issue.
