Hi all,
I released the paid version of my app two days ago and today I found it on nullapk.com which claims to have "Free full version android apps and games apk downloads". Should I be worried about this (and similar) sites?
I find it hard to believe my app was cracked so quickly? My app is not very popular (yet) so I can't imagine hackers have even noticed it yet, let alone cracked it. I'm using the Google LVL (with obfuscation) for license control.
I would download the app myself to really see if it's cracked but I'm afraid it has simply been turned into a Trojan and I don't want to catch a virus.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance,
Barry
Developers lose a lot of money due to warez sites hosting their (paid) apps for free. Your app is most likely cracked and not a virus but warez is not to be trusted. You can't do anything to the site (e.g. get it shut down) - see what they said at the bottom of their page:
No files are hosted on this server - all links come via google! Sue them

So the only thing you could do, is ask the file hosting sites to remove it from their servers (since it violates copyright laws).
Hi,
Tomorrow my girlfriend leaves for China for a week, and she'll be missing the usual things, facebook, youtube and such. Is there a way I can set up a VPN server on my PC so she can get connected to my machine (in Hong Kong) and get proper uncensored traffic from China? Which app should she use to connect? She has a Galaxy Note.
I tried this before (with windows 7 default server), with not much success. I can try either Windows or Kubuntu for the server, whichever is easier to work with.
Could you guys give me a hand on this?
Thanks a lot!
Simply download UltraSurf aka UltraReach aka 无界 over at www .ultrareach. com/ for desktop use, this app is the best free one click way to breach the censorship. I use this app on daily basis here in China. On handset wise if your girl friend uses android devices, just browse the market and download "Verizon Opera", a browser based on Opera Mini 5 that Opera made for Verizon customers since it sends data directly to Verizon wireless servers which bypasses the government firewall. Its features are a little bit outdated, no in browser download support or flash or offline browsing, yet still itis the most simple solution on the go to visit blocked sites such as twitter, fb, cnn, bbc, deutschland world (dw.de), IRF, etc.

Ok, I'll definitely try that version of Opera, thank you for the information!
Regarding Ultrasurf, what's the difference with the (allegedly) newer UltraVPN? Both of these are desktop clients, but I believe she'll be taking only the phone this time. I thank you for the tip, as those seem to be free (first time I find a free VPN server, I'm a bit suspicious as why is that one free), but I'd like to find an equivalent for Android, if possible
Sibling products? To be very honest I'm not quite sure about the ultraVPN. The reason that ultrasurf is free of charge is word on the street says this app is sponsored by anti censorship groups and funds based in the US, with a sole purpose - to help netizen in mainland China breach the system. In other words it's not developed by any ordinary commercial firm.
Yes there are other solutions aside of ultrasurf, like Tor for Firefox, Google's own goagent (which has certain traffic limit for free users 1GB per day.), but non of which offers similar easy to use features as ultrasurf does.
The reason why most mainstream US vnp services are down in China is that those vnp providers have been blocked by Chinese government's GFW way beforehand.

Good to know. Thank you very much indeed!
For the phone thouhg, there's no other free alternative, right?
Thank you!
The goagent I mentioned before is a universal proxy solution on both desktop and handheld platforms. Follow a step by step tutorial which can be found by Googling, set up a free account for goagent on desktop. Then download GAEProxy from market to your android device, choose goagent type of proxy, configure it with the account you set before and you are hooked up. In this way all apps like native twitter, Facebook, linked in, browsers, YouTube client are with the mighty force of Google's proxy. But for instant and light web use, I still recommended Verizon Opera.

Old thread but this comes up in searches so here's some info.
You guy's can also make your own free VPN using Amazon ec2 instance free tier level. You need any credit card to sign up, and it's free for like 750hrs per month. If you don't have a card, then use bitcoins or Liberty Reserve/WMZ to buy a prepaid online visa. There's also plenty of CashU prepaid visa sites around http://www.prepaidvcard.com/cashu.php (note, i have no idea if site is legit or not.. do due diligence)
You can get Bitcoins for CashU using Okpay in Syria, or you can use localbitcoins.com and see if anybody local is selling/buying coins. https://localbitcoins.com/country/SY
If you want a secure wallet, set up 2 factor ID using blockchain.info and download android app
https://blockchain.info/wallet/android-app
http://aws.amazon.com/free/
https://github.com/sarfata/voodooprivacy - script to start PSec/L2TP VPN.
I run Tor bridges for free using amazon, that are using obfsproxy so users in blocked countries like China/Syria can access it.
There's also JonDoNym which is a mixmaster high security 'vpn' https://shop.anonymous-proxy-servers.net/bin/testcoupon?lang=en
It has a free trial if you want to try it out (and an Android app), at least good enough so you can access google play store and download whatever you need, like TextSecure or Redphone or just to encrypt communications. You can also edit Torrc file on phone to change number of Tor hops to just one instead of usual 3 if you wanted a free VPN with no anonymity
Lot's of vendors on the bitcoin wiki provide a free version of their VPN too https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade#Connectivity
http://www.securitykiss.com/
And of course there's Torrentfreak lists of VPN providers: http://torrentfreak.com/vpn-services-that-take-your-anonymity-seriously-2013-edition-130302/

I have no App Development coding experience so I was looking online sites (Appery.io, TheAppBuilder etc) where you can easily knock up an app using a web front end.
My idea for an app is relatively simple ( a sort of mobile html5 app ) and one of these online app dev sites would do the job.
My question is, the apps that these sites produce, can they be put on apps stores and sold for a price (ie 99p) or do they have to be free?
I would like to have a (cut down) free version and a paid for full version of the app
Andromo gives you the first one for free, but I would also like to know of others if anyone has a list.
App Dev SIte is bad. Game maker studio and Construct 2 is better
Hello everyone! Can you help a guy out with an APK for Pandora internet app that I can use outside of the US?
Before anyone asks, no, I don't want a cracked / pirated version with no ads and unlimited skips and so on. I just want an APK of the original Pandora app that simply allows me to use it outside of the US but is otherwise identical to what you get from the play store, preferably the latest version available.
I already pay for a subscription and use the app through the browser with the help of a proxy on my laptop. I just want to use Pandora with my paid subscription on my Android phone.

how about using a vpn? Just a thought. I know this doesn't answer your question or provide the apk...but it could be a work around?
