I've tried many lockscreens, I found out that the best option for me is disabling the lockscreen (CyanogenMod settings > Tablet tweaks). Unfortunately, I need a keyguard (For example - wake only if power key is pressed) because without the lockscreen wake=unlock. Any idea how to make such a keyguard? I know it is possible to bind a specific key to unlock the phone, but I want to get rid of the lockscreen. Thanks in advance.
Firstly, fix your title!
And secondly.. as far as I know, then there is no way of disabling the keys for waking up the screen.. Just update to CM7.1.0. It has a cool new lockscreen
I liked all of the lockscreens I tried. My goal is to disable it, not to make it beautiful.
Actually I did it - I simply removed all WAKE and WAKE_DROPPED entries
except those for POWER BUTTON from /system/usr/keylayout/thunder_keypad.kl and qwerty.kl.
It was simpler than I thought...

Learn to use the search function please. You can use trackpad to unlock if you run a custom Rom with that mod. E.g. cyanogenmod or wild puzzle.
Installed widget locker on my Buzz and enabled easy wake in its settings (meaning pressing any hardware buttons will wake the phone). Hope this helps.
Hi, I installed trackballunlock.zip from wildpuzzle on my 2.1 stock ROM with OC kernel. For most of the time it works but sometimes you have to use both power and trackball to unlock.
Try Lockbot pro
Try Lockbot pro..it works seemlessly..the screen gets unlocked on any key like volume button, trackball etc...
On the down side of all these apps, the incoming call lock screen too come up with a NO LOCK, with only Answer and Decline buttons which might accidentally make us to answer/decline the calls
I'd like to remap my volume keys so when i long-press them i can perform and specific function, even when the screen is locked.
I know CM7 had a feature you can map the keys for camera or next/prev track for music app, but what i would like is a Long-press option for screen brightness.
I also understand there are apps like widgetlocker which allow me to adjust from the lockscreen, but this doesn't work if i'm getting a call (with the sun beaming down its hard to see who's calling). Maybe there is an app on the market for rooted devices i'm missing?
I think this would be a cool feature and could have many uses, not just brightness/camera(no need on 3VO)/music.
any dev think its possible or can take a crack at it?
Is there a way to hide the button savior trigger in a lock screen such as golocker (included in the rebloat rom in the dev section) or widgetlocker (my preferred lockscreen of choice if I could get the dang widgets working)?
I like my lockscreen to function as just that, without the bypass option of buttonsavior.
Thanks,
Dan

Saw your post during a search for the same problem.
In short, not yet. Widgetlocker doesn't hide/disable Button Saviour either when active, even though there is a setting to supposedly hide additional apps.
I've gone from sentinalrom 5 to 6 yesterday and im finding some features that i really enjoyed aren't there any more (or at least i can't find them)
Number one is the ability to use the home button on the lock screen to turn on the torch, and the soft buttons to do other functions, this was very handy for me, but now i can't see that option either under "buttons" or "lock screen"
Anyone know if that capability has been removed or am i just unable to find it?
Just wanted to share this app. It's useful for editing the Samsung default recent, home button and back buttons. If can also be useful to use gestures as well have a look. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures
Does it use a lot of battery
It has problem with the lockscreen timeout
