What's the benefit of that?
Better more stable signal
Faster stable speeds
All I want is Verizon esque signal strength indoors

I do haha
but thats beside the point
Now I see the true point of network vision
I didn't watch that unboxing yet, but are you sure he isn't referring to 800 mhz processor rather than radio band? Other reviews I've read said it's 800 mhz processor but apple won't admit it (engaget.com)

I don't think it is because the old iPhone 4 was 800 mhz. Apple adding an A5 processor and keeping it underclocked at 800 mhz is extremely unlikely. I would guess it is around 1 Ghz or 1.2 Ghz...
Well I stand corrected they do say specifically 800 mhz radio band in the unboxing. But they also say 800 mhz processor too.

Clock speed doesn't really matter that much and even at 800mhz it's kicking ass with other processors. Plus as mentioned before, the battery is wonderful due to the under-clocking.
Anyway, the 800mhz band def aint helping with data, so I doubt it's active yet. My 3G on the 4S is slower than on the 3D, which sucks. Signal for voice seems the same between both though.

Ugh...
I've been COMPLETELY sold on the Sprint GN, but I have a June 1st upgrade, and if this release date is concrete for the One X/Jet/EVO LTE, I might have a decision on my hands
So if the cpu chip isnt compatible with LTE here and thats why Europe is getting I wonder if it will be compatible next year? Hhmmm....either way I'm excited about the display!
Really? A Dual core?
And no, It's not about benchmark swag. Its about it actually being a worthy upgrade. Why am I going to buy a phone thats barely an upgrade? A slightly faster cpu, a slightly faster gpu, and the same amount of RAM? No thanks.
My next phone will have a 1.5ghz quad core, a way faster gpu, and 2gb of ram or its not worth dropping a dime on to me.

And the second someone actually shows me what you can do with a quad core phone that you cant do with a dual core phone then ill be inclined to share your thoughts on quad core..What are the real life comparisons? What is the benefit other than saying "I have a quad core phone"
Its just a phone for god sakes,i just dont understand the fascination with going crazy over quad core in a phone.
Right now i have a gs2. I dont see me giving up this phone anytime soon. I have 2 eligible upgrades ive been savin. But normally if you sell your phone on craigslist then buy another on craigs list you pay less then what the upgrade would cost a new customer. Sold evo for 220...paid 350 for brand new white gs2. Im hopin sprint gets an updated galaxy note

still no removable battery or storage so I'll probably still pass.
Paid retail on the EVO 3D to hold me for another year on my contract so won't be buying a new phone till next year with my upgrade and by then there will be something better. But seems like a worthy upgrade.

While there is no mention of storage or battery the article states LTE as being the only difference. Had battery and/or storage been changed it would be a pretty big deal and mentioned. I hope I'm wrong but don't hold your breath that HTC decided to make those changes only for Sprint when LTE is the single necessary alteration for the CDMA LTE roll out.

You guys need to take some time and do some research on what your talking about...
neither of you mentioned the fact that the screen is HUGELY improved, dedicated ImageChip, and besides the whole point both of you are not grasping the fact of how much better the S4 chip's are than the S3's...If this doesn't satisfy an upgrade b/c of the SoC then you'll be left waiting till '13 when Qualcomm pushes their 28nm quads...
fact is the SoC mentioned in this device is a huge upgrade to the current one in the EVO3D...
If this was a Tegra3 would you consider it an upgrade??? If you say yes then you are greatly miss-leaded by the facts of the SoC's themselves b/c there is sooo much more than just the # of cores...28nm vs 40nm, integrated modems vs not, and a bunch more...

I'm sure alot of you guys have heard of it by now sprint is releasing there newest evo but is it really worth leaving your HTC EVO 3D by looking at the specifications of the phone and by comparison not much difference I see.
Lemme know what you guys think?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Nope. I'm personally gonna stick with the Evo until i feel its old enough or i phone is released that i like,
It all comes down to opinion and peoples liking.
I don't like how the LTE phone looks nor do i care if its LTE since i don't even have 4g where i live.
To me pretty much everything that the 3D has is about the same besides two factors is a bigger screen and 4G LTE and well of course sense 4.0 but hey

3d has a processor more like cortex a8 which isn't good enough and a single channel 1gb memory.
New EVO/one x (U.S version) have dual core a15 processor which is better than quad core cortex a9 (tegra 3) in almost every test . It also has a dual channel memory compared to single one of the 3d and that's just not dual channel , its clocked at higher frequency too .
Edit: Forgot to mention about camera, its a huge improvement over past phone cameras...
I don't care if sprint comes out with an 8-core phone with 7 days of battery life, unless they fix their 3g data speeds in the next two months, I'm switching to Verizon.

Goodbye. I am so tired of people saying that. Just leave. They won't have it fixed in two months. Their network is over capacity. It will take time to get the network overhauled. I'm gonna enjoy the NetworkVision and unlimited LTE at a great price. My 3G speeds do suck at times, but I'm dealing with it. It will be really awesome soon.

How long will the Evo Lte last in till it gets owned by some other phone?
I just hope its not like last year.
you guys remember the Evo 3d last year?
2-3 months after its release Galaxy S2 came out with better specs making the Evo 3d look out dated.
Now lets fast forward to today.
LG has a rumored device coming to sprint.
look at these amazing spec guys:
4.67-inch (1280×768) LCD TFT display,
1.5 GHz Qualcomm quad-core Krait processor
Adreno 320 GPU
2GB of RAM
2100 mAh battery
13-megapixel camera
NFC
Damn. wowsers is right.
http://briefmobile.com/lg-ls970-eclipse-coming-with-1-5-ghz-quad-core-krait-cpu
Rumors say its coming this year?!
So I guess my question is the Evo Lte good enough (Future proof) to compete for the rest of the year?
That's technology bud. Everything gets bested eventually. In the end the biggest factor is user experience, and if you're a flashaholic like most people here, the development community. As far as the rumored LG phone goes, based on the specs alone, I would probably get it. However, LG isn't exactly known for timely updates.

One version, sounds like Apple's philosophy. As the others have said, and to add a bit of confusion, the international One X has the Tegra 3, the One XL has the S4. The US One X has the S4. All this after HTC's big announcement about fewer phones and variations on phones. It's not quite as bad as Motorola though with the Razr, Razr Maxx, and the upcoming Razr HD, why couldn't they have just come out with all that in one phone.
As for the unified HW design, it would be nice if there were some standardized specs just to encourage companies to make more aftermarket accessories Android compatible.
