Sorry guys but I need some help here. I came from the sensation to the amaze and so far the amaze is pretty cool, the only thing that bugs me is I can't find facebook for HTC sense... Did they take that feature away? I kinda like the way my contacts picture would update to the facebook pic when synced .. Has anyone noticed this?
yea not there for that pic syncing but if u try to upload a pic to fb it shows on options
Yeah I noticed that when I uploaded a pic it gave me a choice to facebook for android or facebook for htc sense.. what gives? What I would like to know is how do we get that feature back...

Mine has it. It doesn't show in the Accounts menu but it is installed on the device and my contacts pictures are synced.
ok i figured it out... my contacts are now syncing with facebook contacts.. user error i guess..

Not there dude. Go to sync and see if there. That's applications. It's on my applications too.

When you login into Facebook under accounts it will then ask you permission to link Facebook for HTC Sense. Their is no way to do it separately like other versions of sense.
My EVO 3D has it...no problem. Amaze doesn't seem to have it.
The Amaze has it too.. it was just user error on my part.

I think it is there just integrated a bit differently behind the scenes.
One problem I am having though is normally my WhatsApp contacts would link and take the FB contact pictures...but now it won't.
How do I link my contacts to FB for some reason it didn't do it for me either. I have a few linked and most of them are not linked.......

It's the issue of htcfacebook.apk I believe, I used to have the legend, when I flashed the Rom with sense 2.3 same issue happened. I then replace the file with the one from salsa ruu and I worked out perfectly. I got two option when adding a account, if you choose to add facebook then the pics don't show in any app other than contacts. But if you add Facebook for HTC sense , it works like it used to.
However, with amaze I donr know where to find an apk that's working with the Rom I'm using. I tried the file from EVO 3D s ruu but not working.

I can't download from my mytouch 4g either, but I was able to restore a couple widgets with titanium backup that I downloaded while running a Desire Rom on my Nexus One and they work fine.
Well I guess it's a good thing we're all experiencing it then hope this gets fixed soon!

Hey all. Does anybody know how long would it take??
Interesting, considering that the Desire's ROM leaked a while before the Desire was released... When it was ported to the Nexus One it immediately had the widgets available for download... Then again the Espresso UI is unique to TMobile so, hard to say.

This is not the same as it was. You were able to do a word search in a library of 10000s not 20-25 widgets. This is crap!!

That's what somebody else suggested, but if you go to share something, you get an alternative option to share with Facebook for HTC Sense, but you can't link your account, since there is no option... Says it posted, and I thought, maybe it linked to the app in a way, but nope...

in sense 3.6 friendstream directly connects w/ the facebook account in accoutns & sync. pretty cool that u dont need to sync both facebook and facebook for htc sense ne more.

dont install... push to /system/app and chmod 644
Once you sign in to the Facebook app HTC Sense will ask you to authorize Facebook for Sense there is no way to dismiss it and a simple click authorizes it
The only way to get around this is by disabling the Facebook for Sense app in the app settings, awesome new feature of ICS btw

I love the newly updated HTC email app and it actually seems to be working with my Yahoo acct problem is url links contained inside of emails arent active (clickable). The links work perfectly fine in the actual Yahoo mail app so im kinda confused. This email client would be just about perfect if I could get this fixed. Any ideas? Thanks

I'm not even sure if that is patent related. YouTube is a Google application. Could be an oversight. Links to maps open up Google Maps.

What I think is in the patent dispute is scanning "Plain Text" based emails (and text messages) for URL's and phone numbers and converting them to hypertext.
HTML based email hyperlinks still work.
Just go into the settings menu and change the max message size from 5k to the maximum and it will fix the issue. Had the same problem on my phone and it now works.
Only works for new messages, the links will not work in your old messages.

Available in other EVOs because the patent suit wasn't settled until it was time to ship this particular model.

I think it's from the Desire but not 100% on that. I've used it on all my Android phones and all my ROMs and it's always been solid. Backed up my recovered file from my Evo 4G and it seemed as though it installed and everything was fine. But when I launch it I have issues. It appears to launch fine but whenever you touch the screen to scroll I get the following message: "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped."
Anyone having any luck with this? I really prefer this one over the one that comes with the phone.

So I installed it and the one I installed looks more like the one that came on the device. I'm looking for the Gallery that looks like this:
This one has all of my local folders as well as my Picasa folders on the same page and makes it easy to browse them. Also, the one in your zip appears to be bork as when I click 'settings' I get a blank screen. I was trying to see if there was an option to display my Picasa folders but there was nothing there.
I may have found my answer here. Researching now.

Yeah, that's the one I'm looking for. Love that one. Just not a fan of the layout on the newer ones plus I want to see my Picasa folders with all the others w/o needing to click any other buttons.

Just a heads up to anyone who finds this thread searching for the same thing... this link worked perfectly for me. I downloaded it to the phone and then clicked it to run like a regular apk and didn't even need to go through the steps the OP lists and it worked fine for me on a rooted Evo LTE on the stock ROM. I've got my 3D Gallery back!
Every once in a while I browse through my friendstream, when tonight I noticed that it last updated at 10:01am. Tried refreshing, and no update. Asked my girlfriend if her phone was working, she said it hasn't in a few days so she hasn't looked; same thing. I then deleted the account, added it back in, and its still not working.
Both are up to date, latest firmware/software and S-Off.
Anyone else having these issues?

If there are any major changes to facebook it tends to break friendstream, I remember HTC releasing 2 updates to friend stream on my og evo after a few revisions to facebook killed friendstream. Have you tried removing it as a trusted app and letting sense setup the account again?

Haven't tried that yet but I will look into it. That's the other thing though, I'm still on the base facebook apk. The one that comes on the 2.13 Rom. I don't update it cause Facebook never gets its updates in working order.
I rebooted as well before I deleted the account lol. I'll try wiping the caches next. It's not super important since I rarely use Facebook, I just like looking through friendstream to see what's going on with the people I know lol.

Well, just thought I'd throw this out there... It's happening over on the Sensation on Sense 4.1 as well. It works fine when we install Sense 3.6 though, odd.
Thanks for the info. Maybe its a bug in Sense 4.1 that's been pretty infrequent on devices running it.
Another question for anyone running stock or close to stock, when answering the phone with the lock screen (dragging green phone into the circle), have you had to answer it again in the phone app or have you missed the call? I'm getting close to dumping the phone with an RUU to see if somethings stuck in here that's not supposed to be. Which is odd since I've only ran stock so far...

Works on Sensation as well now... Looks like Facebook foobar'd something and we had to suffer till they fixed it. Heh. Not the first time!
