[ROM] ViolentOS "Apollon"-hotfix1 | 22/02/12 | locked&unlocked BL | CM7&AOSP
I have started this Rom with modding ZMOD and now there is a lot of new stuff in here. A lot of tweaks and optimizations, a lot of addons to create a bright spectrum of "different" and unique ROMS for every user.
So here it is, ViolentOS !!!

Requirements:
BB .71
Doomkernel v06 with Bootmanager 2.0 STOCK VERSION (recommended) (thanks to DoomLord ) --> for unlocked Bootloader // or any custom kernel with the old bypass method
thkernel for unlocked bl will be soon supported only!
working xRec
locked or unlocked Bootloader
X10 (haha xD)
Install Instructions:
Flash Doomkernel v06 stock with Bootmanager 2.0 via Flashtool OR use stock kernel OR flash a custom kernel for locked BL
Boot into xRec (via Bootmanager with DoomKernel)
Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache (optional wipe batt stats - only with 100% charged battery)
install custom zip --> choose ViolentOS-Apollon-01.zip
do not forget to flash the wifi modules for kernel !!
reboot
set up your system how u like it

not working: tethering (use tethering apps from market) --> will try to fix this !

everything seems to work on my side (except for tethering ofc), no random reboots so far, pretty fast (I was surprised how fast it loaded my over 600 pics in gallery. I'm using a the stock class2 SD card so yeah, it was surprisingly fast ) And thank God it didnt install the "new market"

Wifi reconnects for me (using doomkernel v05a) dont know anything about battery life since I'm using it since 1hour and 40 minutes only.
On most of the roms i used, im unable to see the mobile networks. Does it show up from Settings->Wireless & networks->mobile networks->network operators? thx

I flashed many many roms and i had one rom that showed network and it whas a ported 2.3.4 arc rom.
Why this is is not known.
Could you guys report battery life, cause for mehr its just great with smartassv2 and 128-1036

Q. No signal / phone reboots?
A. Check your baseband or go into dev tool, bad behavior and crash system server
Q. Battery drain fast?
A. There are many tutorials out there to improve your battery life and I have absolutely no clue what's wrong with your battery
Q. Don't have my language?
A. This rom comes with limited language support - please look for MIUI 1.3.18 language packs

This is the newer version of MIUI(1.3.18) compared to Trip's(1.0.4),and this is much faster and stable then Trip's.

Hi guys,I have ported miui for arc so I think it will be easy to do such things again on Neo.

Cuz I don't have neo and I'm busy with my study,I won't update this rom anymore.However,I will update my sources including BlendMIUI kernel and CM7 rebuilted rom on github which can be used to port MIUI and I think it will be quite convient for DEVs to port MIUI on Neo.
I'm also consider to write a program to help u guys porting MIUI for NEO in few minutes if I have time.When I'm done I will release the program and write an instruction to you.
What I really want to say is that I don't have NEO but I have asked my friends who has Neo to test my rom and it seems alright on Neo.Now here it is: BlendMIUI @ NEO !

HOW TO FlASH THIS ROM ?
(Unlock bootloader at first)
STEP 1: Download everything you may use to your pc and cellphone.(put .zip rom into your sdcard)
STEP 2: Use flashtool to flash 2.3.4 Official Firmware for NEO(4.0.1.A.0.283). (if you are already on 2.3.4 you don't need to flash it again)
STEP 3: Use fastboot to flash boot.img (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
STEP 4: Boot into CWM recovery(press back button for few times) then:
->Chose wipe data/factory reset and confirm.
->Chose wipe cache partiton and confirm .
->Chose advanced and chose wipe Dalvik Cache then confirm
->Chose install zip from sdcard to flash the .zip rom you have put into your SD card.
STEP 5: Start your phone and enjoy it.

1.You should change the recording setting of miui camera from High to HD(720P) then it will work property.

Try flashing it, Arc Roms work on Arc S

There is no defference between Arc & Arc S. But Neo & Neo V has different camera and if you flash Neo ROM to Neo V camera will not work.

Oh, you just saved me else the camera would have gone. I love the superb camera,
so i flashed it ontop of my tweaked v5 and have no problems!!! gonna stay with this for a few days and test it

Can I also use wotanserver to flash 2.3.4 Official Firmware for NEO(4.0.1.A.0.283)?
Because I don't know flashtool.

I like the performance,everything is working properly.

While no one confirmed so far that this yet another GingerDX knock-off (though your hint about build.prop should raise af974's attention) the first post is already in violation with the code of conduct as there are NO THANKS to the module developers nor any specific hints about the ROM it's based on.
What has been written is as generic as possible ("based on cyanogenmod7") though that already proves itself being a lie as there's no CM7 for the X8 which is 2.3.4 and if this would be FXP/CM7 the installation would require the FXP/CM Kernel.
Plus the non-working 3mpx camera would strongly hint that it's a rip-off from an early GDX version.

Having stock kernel, from where I stand, test results are the same as in XGin 6.1. concerning Linpack, AnTuTu and Quadrant. I attach screenshots bellow. Well, still a great Rom, the best, good battery life and , of course, Cypress users like me have to add ax8mt.ko module again....
After checking FB Indonesia, looks like the Changelog mostly reffers to tweaking the Rom with the existing , rich, .apk's and making it Compatible with custom kernel. So it looks like the problem lies with me, that I still have Stock kernel...

I feel there is not enough importance given to this great Rom.
on the other hand is true that I use XGin on a day to day basis from the beginning, so mabe I am a bit bias. But anyways the rom is stable, smooth, and just suitable to my use and to anyone that needs a stable, reliable, no FC and no OC either. Great battery life, 1% loss over night.
All credits to Rieken Yuki : thank you master for a great ROM.
Also to Mika Dee for the site and support.
Credits go deeper - to Shpit, the original XGin Dev, FrogyFurnetal for contribution, other Indo users and Devs and of course to original CM6, CM7 dev. team. As I understand, Rom is ported from Hero.

@Op, I used Xgin when shpit was behind it, and that was so fun . But, my guess is that ppl even don´t know it too much since Rieken doesn´t play here on XDA, and the OP from Xgin thread is not updating it anymore . Good to know that indo ppl still developing it

Yes, agreed, and seeing that Shpit's XGIN Op did not update, - not to mention changed his XDA name - I decided to post XGin 6.1 for now. We'll see in future what happens. For the moment Rieken Yuki is porting the new nightlies from Hero, but I cannot give ETA for new version. This version I consider it deserves more attention.

Ok my experience:
-Good performance, except the transistion animation, its slow sometimes.
-The boot time is ok, fast.
-I have no problem with bluetooth and wifi.
Bug:
-if i choose clockworkmod on reboot menu, it doesnt enter to it!
I'still testing it! i hope i can do a short review video for the weekend!

Edit: About SIMLock, if you unlock bootloader, you will have to unlock sim again, but I didn´t see anyone who did it already. Everyone who unlocked, said that asks Blagus for the fix, but seems that he is not answering, or ppl aren´t giving the expected feedback on the thread. (sry for the OT)

No idea atm ...but I do not have the bootloader unlocked. reason: I had a simlock on my phone...experts say unlocking will re-appear that simlock. Do u know if is true or not? Anyways for that reason I did not ask about kernel, but I will asap.
I updated the thread but only upto 6.0 version.i saw 6.1 version,but there was no changelog and i couldnt update the thread anymore.
On topic-alfs kernel works like a charm for this rom,try it.

I have no pc right now,and i have nAa kernel for miniCM...if i had alfs kernel i would install xGin...sorry :/
You could unlock your phone if you are willing to pay for another sim unlocking.you have no choce.or,buy another sim card from the phone operator where you bought your x8.

nAa kernel is made especcialy for miniCM.on other roms it causes instabillity,wifi is not working etc...only kernel that is confirmed to eork with all roms is alfs.

By far the best ROM I tried, good looking and battery life Thnx guys.
This rom doesnt work with nobody at all's kernel....i installed the kernel and tried to install this rom...but it loads on forever...(the xgin logo with particles)..have i done wrong.. anyone installed this rom???pls help...

For the moment 6.1. Rom is build to work with kernel Rom. If you check above, nAa Kernel is known not to work with a multitude of Roms. Different would be Alf's Kernel which is known to work on most Roms.
Anyways, the rom is supposed to be installed with xRecovery, so....you can try to do the following:
-go back to stock Kernel, install XGin with xRecovery
- then install Alfs with the patch, then see if that works.
That's all I have for now.

Here is how to install xgin and gingercrutz with alfs kernel.
1.install with stock kernel
2.boot into rom and install root explorer
3.through root explorer go to system/lib/modules and delete the following modules:ax8mt.ko,jbd.ko,jbd2.ko,x8gesture.ko,ext3.ko,ext4.ko
4.now flash alfs kernel and it should work hope i helped
