Blurex case from Amazon.com - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Got my Blurex case today. This case is great. Fits perfectly. Closes tight and none of the camera, Mic, speaker, volume controls are covered. I paid $23 for it an imho it is well worth it.

I bought one last week, Amazon prime, got it in like a day and a half. Fit is great, I love, especially for $22.

I love this case. Doesnt add much bulk, while still being secure. If only I can get a Hulu+ app to work on my Evo View, I'd be gravy

No pen holder... That's rough.

Unrelated to the case...How did you change the icons with the stock HTC launcher? I use super app manager to change labels but didn't know you could change icons.

I use an app called Folder Organizer that I use to create short cuts. The app itself let's you rename the app and folder shortcuts as well as change the icon.
The icons you see are an icon pack I got from the market , Glared Orb Icons.
Folder Organizer is great, the games icon is actually a folder which opens up just my game apps. There is a free version with ads and a paid version for a buck.

The Blurex case is in stock at Amazon for $16. It has also been revised. It now includes a stylus holder!

I had the 360 degree swivel case, but stopped using it in favor of the bluerex case. I didn't like the swivel ring on the first case, it sticks out about a half inch and makes your Flyer look like it's hovering a half inch off the table when you set it down. In addition, while it's nice to have a pen holder, it also makes it more difficult to slide the Flyer into a jacet pocket. So all in all, I prefer the bluerex model.

Agreed.
I have that case as well.
Affordable + 360 swivel + pen holder + multi-angle viewing = WIN

I like it. I got it for super cheap so I can't really complain about anything. It could look slicker but its very minimal and adds very little bulk, as mentioned above. Unfortunately I got it w/o the pen holder, the price was right. Maybe I'll figure out how to sew on an elastic band or something.

I got one of the Blurex cases and I was a bit disappointed with the stylus holder. The stylus could easily fall out of the holder. I like the case but I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a case that can hold your stylus safely.

mine has little defect on the closing clip... i am afraid it'll scratch my VIEW 4G.
Returning it and ordered another one...

Almost ready
I ordered the View from 1SaD, found a Zagg screen protector from my local Radio Shack for $15, ordered the Fujitsu pen, and the blurex case...goodbye shattered nook, hello View.
A little disappointed my nook magazines won't open on the Nook App, Kindle works well...I like that it will go landscape in a single page view. Wishing the stock reader would go landscape as well...
I even actually like the Sense Rom....what...I'm not rooted or custom rom'd...somebody take my temperature!!

Haha, I did exactly the same thing. Well, almost. I got the blurex case (@amazon) for my view (@1salesday). Very satisfied with it. I am currently waiting for the fujitsu pen to arrive and I am all set. It seems like HTC released HC for view, but I am holding off on that as people were saying something about losing the hardware buttons.
In any case, love the case and will recommended to people who are in the market for one. The biggest thing for me is that it protect the screen. I could get one of these sleeve for it and put on screen protector, but this works.

[Q] Capacitive stylys

Hi all,
I found a nice capacitive stylus and cheap at the same time, so I was wondering how many of you are considering it? Have you used one before?
My point is that it will take care of the fingerprints (most of them), it is small enough to keep on you at all times without noticing... On the other hand you can't do multitouch....
Share your thoughts,
rio
I bought one for use with my Galaxy Tab, but to be honest I never really use it, and I don't feel the need to use it with TF either.
Regards,
Dave
They're only any use if you do enough drawing/painting. Pointless for anything else imho. These apps are a bit thin on the ground atm though. It works ok in Sketchbook Mobile, which is about the only half decent app I've found, but it only works in portrait mode. If you know of any better apps please let me know.
I picked up a BoxWave mini Capacitive Stylus from ebay, image of it should be below.

It clips into the headphone port on the device, so your not going to loose it when its not in use.
I find it pretty good, i don't use it all the time, only when needed or i want to do something on the screen that is detailed.
Hope this helps
Thanks guys,
I guess I should have asked before I ordered the thingy.

Never tried using a stylus on a capacative screen before, so I'd like to know if they're any good for taking math notes etc? Considering getting the transformer if I can justify getting it

Hi guys,
Not to step on any toes, but I bought a stylus exactly like that one, and have been using it for 2 days now. It is small and compact, quite nice.
I find it really useful on the Transformer, because of the quality I guess: it is as good as a finger and bit more precise. And there are no longer finger traces on my screen!!!!
I tried using it with my HD2 and that did not go so well. The stylus is only good for "clicking", anything else like scrolling, sliding... the stylus is close to useless!?!?!
Anyway, just my experience,

When i think about it, the stylus works with the HD2 but requires a lot more force.... maybe due to the screen protector that i have on the HD2.

PS. The SWYPE style keyboard is amazing

I use it to underline and annotate PDFs. You'll take notes faster if you write it on paper and then use the camera to take a picture.
On my g-Tab, the stylus will not work well if your hand touches the screen at any point. That means you need to write while hovering your hand, or use something to prop your hand up. Wearing gloves will not help.

I have purchased the Boxwave stylus ( BoxWave Capacitive iPad Stylus (Jet Black) - not the one pictured earlier) and find that it works pretty well for writepad or Tabnotes ( trial only at the moment) for handwriting however, i am now hooked on Flext9 keyboard using the swipe option, since the last update, it is extremely accurate and I find myself using the stylus with it which makes it ideal as the notes are produced quicker than handwriting and can easily be emailed as they are typed as opposed to handwritten.
If you need to annotate PDFs, use easy PDF from the market as it has some fantastic options for annotation and costs approximately 80 pence which is a bargain, again ideal when used with a stylus.
Got my Boxwave mini stylus today and also the Asus Sleeve.
You know what? The stylus is too mini. It's a bit hard to hold while doing stuff on the Transformer in the Sleeve slanted.
Shoulda bought a regular pen sized stylus.
A side note for those of you ordering styluses, Handrite is the best note taking app I have found. I have been using the free version for a few days with my stylus (Acase from Amazon), and it works like a charm. The stylus is also works great on the TF

There is no digitizer built into the tablet. On a side note I played with my friend's Asus EP121. Windows 7 tablet with 12.1" screen and Wacom digitizer built in. Boy was that small pen accurate and fun to use. Anyone who wants a Windows 7 tablet that is definitely the one to look into.

[REVIEW] EVO 3D - iGrip Car Dock, HTC Car Upgrade Kit, HTC OEM Silicone Smerge Case

Here's my little review of the iGrip Car Dock, HTC Car Upgrade Kit, HTC OEM Silicone Smerge Case!
EDIT: I added some pros and cons to the car docks, some things I experienced on my way to work this morning.

HTC Car Upgrade Kit
Contents: Car Upgrade Kit, USB cable, dual USB port car charger, round sticky pad for mounting on a dash.
Pros:
- Designed specifically for the EVO 3D
- Little vibration when driving
- includes the USB cable and dual USB port car charger
- Can be rotated from portrait to landscape mode easily
Cons:
- Price tag (59.99)
- Doesn't rotate 360 degrees both directions (one way rotates farther then the other)
- Phone will not fit in the dock with ANY case on
iGrip Car Dock (some of these pics are dark, my apologies)
Contents: iGrip Car Dock, sticky pad for dashboard mounting, little hook to hold up a charger when plugged into the dock
Pros:
- Works with a case installed! (Excluding cases like the Defender, which are big and bulky) There's an insert that can be removed to allow for the cases, a nice feature
- Price (There's a thread here where you can order one for just over $26 shipped, but they retail for $39.99)
- Sturdy
- Extends closer to the driver when mounted because the arm is longer. I find this beneficial when driving, you don't have to reach so far forward to touch the screen.
- Can be rotated 360 degrees from both directions, just loosen the know behind the dock.
Cons:
- There's a little more vibration than the official HTC dock
- Doesn't come with any form of car charger
- Can't be easily rotated while driving, due to the knob you need to loosen up in the back before you can rotate the dock, and then tighten up the knob.
Side-by-side:
Between the two, I'm keeping the iGrip and returning the HTC dock. It's all plastic yes, but a very good product, also because it can be used with a case (see below)
HTC OEM Silicone Smerge Case
I love this case. It's not made to withstand any kind of a drop (I don't think, and I'm not going to find out! ) It will protect the phone from getting scuffed up and scratched up. It does attract a little lint, but I think all cases do (due to crevices they create around the phone)
Nice review. Looks like I made a good choice going with the iGrip dock.
Good stuff. The iGrip looks like the one.
Yeah the iGrip is really designed well. The only thing that's not as good as the official dock is the slightly more vibration in the dock when driving down the road, I assume that's because the neck on it is longer and it's harder to keep it still.

I had the HTC one for my OG EVO. I thought it was a great product. Only annoyance was that I had to remove my Barely There case.
When I bought the 3vo, the only docks that Sprint had in stock were the iGrips. Since, previously, Sprint had only carried the HTC model, I figured there might not be one for this phone, so I bought the iGrip.
I have to say, I like the iGrip a lot more. My phone fits beautifully with the Barely There case on it, and, I agree, it does extend out further, which I appreciate. I also like that it doesn't readjust easily. I have it set where I want it, securely tightened down, and I don't want it to move.
I will also agree that it does vibrate a little more than the HTC model did for me, but it's not problematic.

Yeah I had the HTC dock for my OG EVO too, and I liked it a lot more than the one for the EVO 3D and I still have it.
I'm selling my EG EVO (rooted) soon along with the dock and seidio 3500 mah battery.
I've just gotten the iGear dock because I was under the mistaken impression it was the "official" HTC car dock for the EVO 3D. I have to say I really don't like it nearly as much as the OEM HTC dock for my EVO. It wobbles a bit and can't be positioned nearly as articulately as the OEM EVO dock.
I'm also finding that when docked, the desktop doesn't move into landscape mode. Apps and pages that support landscape work fine, but the main sense UI and app drawer don't. I thought I recalled a dock orientation setting but I can't seem to find it. Am I just going nuts?
I'm seriously considering getting the OEM dock then taking this guy back. Maybe if the 'hinge' behind the ball/socket actually articulated, I could see keeping it. I don't use a case either, so that's not really a plus for me.

Yes, the iGrip has clearance for the camera, not 3D though, as it blocks the second camera used to create the 3D.

Case that works for gtab

Found the Tagus Truss case for the Acer Iconia fits perfectly. Very nice leather and is able to prop it up on a table.

Hey thanks for the info.I was also wondering if anyone has tried a Motorola zoom case.It looks kinda close, but wasn't if would work or not.
The xoom is about 2 inches smaller so the cases dont work. I tried to put mine in a friends xoom case
How well does it stay in the notches when in an upright position and being used? I find my CLIP from ElectronicCrap doesn't hold the bottom of the gtablet well enough when it's in an upright position and the screen is being tapped. It drops out of the notch and falls to the bottom position. :-(
Its a very tight/ snug fit. The bottom of the gtab fits onto a pocket that is as wide as the unit. I have no fear of it coming out of this case.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Actually I meant does the tablet stay upright while set in one of the notches, not whether the tablet itself would fall out of the case when in this position. Based on the design I would assume so which is better then the CLIP case does. Just wanted to confirm. Thanks.

Thanks,
Got one!
I went to Best Buy and grabbed one. Price there was $39.99, but the G Tablet fits very nicely. I took some pictures (sorry for the low light).
The Gtab slides in there very snug and secure. The top left strap just falls in between the volume rocker. It's not too bad, you can still adjust vol up & down very easily. And that same strap falls in between the power button and the USB cover. You can stil access it just fine.
I love how the case feels. You can fold back the cover all the way back and just use the tablet straight on, or you can open it and place it in one of the 3 little slots to adjust viewing angle.
I like it, it's very comfortable to sit in bed in and use. The multiple angles allows you to have it on your lap very comfortably.

If you are going to pay that much, why not consider the clip case then, its officially made for the GTab and even allow docking while the tab is inside it.

Thanks for the reply.
I can't figure out how can you slide the tab in the dock with the case on. I mean its a "just fit" with only the tablet and dock, so when I tried with my own case the couple of mm's added thickness just made it impossible to dock the tablet.
Can you kindly post a pic with the tab docked while in the case ?

I got the targus case too and I am liking it. Yaa it is a little bulky, but it feels well made and fits the gtab gr8! I love the three angles I can prop it. It also has some serious cushioning, making me less nervous about damaging my tab.
Got it from BB for $35 after a 10% off coupon for labor day.
Picked up rooCASE leather folio from Amazon, and it fits pretty well with the exception of the opening for the power button.
I got a handy candy case for the ipad. Great for carrying, I wouldn't mind dropping it a few times in this case. It also has velcro grips that can be adusted for propping the gtab up. Not great but definitely not bad.

[Q] Suggestion for Murse/Man Bag

Ok, I now have my Prime with dock and I am in now in need of a Man Bag. Looking to carry the Prime, my phone, keys, wallet, mp3 player, etc. Anybody using a Man Bag, or have suggestions for a quality bag that will hold all my crap yet look good in the process? Not looking for a huge bag, just enough room to fit all my stuff. Any suggestions.
This just arrived today, looking forward to going home and testing it out as it looks awesome: http://www.amazon.com/CaseCrown-Ver...B2T8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327336500&sr=8-1

Update and let me know how it works - looks pretty sweet!
Yah..that does look sweet. Please update it as you find your likes and dislikes.
Could you take some pics of "Real world" stuff in there? what it looks like with the tab/dock...pens...pen drives...stuff a non marketing person would do with it.
I recently went to Office Max to get my dock (see the "where is everyone buying their docks" thread) and saw the coolest thing.
it's exactly the same bag i have for my laptop that i love but for tablets
http://www.officemax.com/technology...d Accessories&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=22970395
while not a traditional "man" bag...it's a cross imo between shoulder/scout/backpack.
This is the bag I got: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0046SNNRY/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1327358978&sr=8-1
I bought mine from Target for $24. The prime fits perfectly in the inside pocket without any case. Should fit in the other inside pocket with a case. My case arrives this week.

I bought that one too. The prime will fit in the larger slot with a case. It will not fit in the smaller slot with a case. The dock will fit either slot by itself and the prime with the dock attached fits perfectly in the larger slot. It really is a nice case. I like the color inside too.
I picked up the Messenger Bag/Man Purse/Murse at Best Buy last week.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Targus+...8343234169&skuId=1805623&st=targus&cp=4&lp=38
Unfortunately, they were on sale for 24.99 last week, and they are $35 now.
I love it. Comes with a Shoulder Strap so I can wear it like a Murse. Comes with a bunch of little pockets inside, one velcro pouch for a cell phone or MP3 Player, has 2 pen/stylus holders. And it is still small.
There is a sleeve inside that fits the Transformer Prime very snug, so it will not move around. You just stretch the interior sleeve and it fits right in.
Plus, they have these IN STORE at Best Buy, just look back by the Laptop Bags!
I got this one. Has two compartments so it fits the Prime and keyboard separately or docked.

I got this one back when I had my xoom, fits the prime and dock great and has room for other stuff without being too bulky. I also like how far down it zips so your not hunting for tiny stuff at the bottom.

+1 on this case. Picked one up at Wally World. It was $25.
This case is manly enough to cover the question asked.

they also have a 12 inch. I think it is for netbooks.
It also comes in 3 colors.

I got this and love it. I use it with and without the keyboard.
The prime without the dock also fits perfectly in the small slot. It seems snug the first time but it becomes the perfect fit.

Update as requested CheeseMcGee
Awesome bag! I want to start using it instead of my usual everyday bag, it has a hell of a lot of padding and fits the prime very snuggly, so I just need to get over my misconception that the prime is made of brittle china and properly integrate it into my life. It has a lot of pockets which is awesome as I love to keep stuff separate, looks really nice imo - from my experience so far I would highly recommend it

I just picked one up for myself and my poetic case fits perfectly alongside my docked TFP. This way I have the option of undocking and slipping it into the Poetic case.

Just snagged this "Murse" to carry my tablet and accessories in.
God... I'm so trendy!
Sent from the last remaining Prime.
I got this Targus Netbook bag. Works perfect with the dock!

Timbuk2 freestyle netbook messenger
I got a Timbuk2 Freestyle Messenger today and it fits my Prime with the dock attached perfectly. It is well made out of thick cordura with a waterproof lining, a separate internal pouch for the tablet that is microfiber lined and secured with velcro, and plenty of smaller pockets for your keys etc. I got it directly from them and the color i bought is on sale for $39.
I can't post a link yet but you can find them by googling the title of this post.
I am not affiliated with them, it's just a great product.

Race
After much research and deliberation I settled on this...
Hmm, due to me being a nube I can't post outside links but searching ebay with this number works (120758831139)
Question is, which will arrive first? My Purple Prime or my Vertical Messenger (Satchel)? The Prime eta is February 20 and due to Chinese new-year the HN bag is due by March 1.
---------- Post added at 02:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:02 PM ----------
It appears the Vertical Messenger has taken the lead. I now have a tracking number for it with UPS.
I bought this and it works great, STM Bags 11" Jacket (Black/Green)

iRainy S View Flip Cover Case [w/ Auto Wake]

So I didn't see any threads for this iRainy case that I found on Amazon. It claims to be a "S View Flip Cover Smart Folio Case for Samsung With Auto Wake Function". I'm thinking about ordering it until my Spigen Neo Hybrid comes in to see what it's about.
I figured I'd start a thread for questions on it and because I figured some people might consider this versus the $60 Official Samsung S View case.

Review (in progress):
First Impressions -
Build Quality: 9
Ergonomics/feel: 8
Functionality: 9
So I want to use it for a week or so before I make my final conclusions, but my first impressions are very high. The build is solid, the functionality is spot on (I was a skeptic as well), and the feel is pretty premium for a replica/generic brand. So far I'm very happy to have spent 9.99 for this.
TL; DR In the pictures you can make note of the main big questions:
1. The IC chip is present and fully functioning.
2. The case is snug but not as drastic as some reviews and people would have you think. I think it's appropriate for the style of case.
3. All S View functions activate (power on) and deactivate upon opening case.
4. The volume up and down indicators are present.
5. S View window is nice and sensitive, s pan tested through screen protector and view window.
More impressions to come as I actually use it. As of today I fully recommend it. Might pick up another color.
{Update 12/04/2013}
Conclusion: So after a few days of using the case. I definitely recommend it. It has held up well. The functionality is spot on and has no issues. The feel and look of the case is pretty nice. The only con really is getting used to the plastic view screen because it can get smudged on the inside and outside. Otherwise, great case.
odd that in one pic they don't have the contacts and in the next they do (irainy one).
iRainy
ups says mine will be here tomorrow, i will let you know how it works.

Yeah I noticed that as well. The Yesoo one has in all pics. I figured I'd get and if it has I'll report back. If anyone else gets report back with results, color, etc.
Update: just ordered mine in blue!

In to hear how it actually works. It bothers me that on all the pics showing the window function the sticker is still on it.

It's what connects with the Note 3 in order to enable the S-View functions (the little square window, etc.).
Could you please share some more photos, including the whole thing (opened, closed, etc.)?
Thanks in advance.

+1 At $10 this thing is a steal compared to the official Samsung view case... but I need to hear some actual reviews before I go wasting money.
Thay can't ship to Italy
I just bought all the nice colors although I already have the official white s view case, still I spent just half the price of the official case!

On eBay you can also find them. Maybe a bit more ($15), but with free shipping worldwide.
These looks very interesting. I use a TPU case now that fits in my Samsung generic multimedia dock and an iOttie XL car dock. I'd like to know if these cases will fit in these docks when the cover is folded around the back of the phone. Some pictures of one folded back would help.
Are you sure it came with the pin it shows on ebay it doesn't have the pins
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
If it's working it has the pins for sure, I got a yesoo one and works great btw and I believe this one here is same in quality pretty decent for the money

Just ordered one of these cases myself. Will update once received.

Mine should hopefully be here today. Will post up some better pics when it gets here.
I ordered one blue and one orange irainy a couple days ago. Now the listing has been changed and the pictures of the orange one show the half orange half yellow design. That's not what I ordered. What recourse do you think I have since amazon tends to side with the customer?
