android.process.acore HELP - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I keep getting this error when I access some of my contacts. It will show me no information, and then:
The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I try again, and I can never get to the contact. I can however, still call them or message them. So the contact exists, I just keep getting the error when I try to see the details.
I flashed CM7. Then went to Cognition. Then flashed Unnamed, and now back to Cognition. I started getting the error first in Unnamed, so I flashed Cognition thinking it was that. First day, everything was fine. Now I keep getting that error.
Any ideas how to fix?

I had a similar issue, delete the Google + ICS version if you have that installed. If not try a factory Reset through Settings>Privacy That worked for me.

Bingo! That was it. Deleted Google+ ICS and then restarted, and everything was back to normal.
Thanks!

Thanks you posted this right as I needed it! ICS Google+ was definitely the issue.

Glad I could help guys!

The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again

I have just now installed the XXKI3 Non Wipe Frankenstien version of Intratech. Also rooted it with CF root. But the error which I was getting with KF3, I am still getting it with KI3. This error comes when I tap on "Create Contact" button or "Add Contact" Button:
The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
How to solve this problem?
I used to get this message after flashing a new rom when I forgot to wipe my data and dalvik cache. Do a factory reset and the problem should go away.

Is there no other way? I don't want to lose my data, saved SMS msgs etc. Anyone knows what exactly is the problem?
I started getting this error only recently when I was on CF rooted Stock KF3. I thought flashing a new ROM might solve this problem so I flashed Intratech's Frankenstein non wipe XXKI3 today and rooted it. But the problem is still persisting!

any idea why G+ 2.0 cause the problem?
started to get this now everytime i install something from the market. Says launcher pro (android.process.acore) is force closing. Ive tried clearing the data from launcher pro and even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still happens. I dont have G+ installed either
Thankfully it only needs me to click ok and its all ok but just trying to figure out why its happening to begin with

I had this just now - killing contacts cache and storage did nothing, removing G+ 2.0 fixed instantly...thanks guys
+1
uninstalling Google+ 2.0 solved that issue for me too.
Thanks.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
G+ 2.0 was the culprit, and I'd been pulling my hair out in frustration.
For process.acore freezing, often the culprit is some apps like calendar which is trying to sync events like birthdays from contacts and is not able to.
I had this problem on GingerMod rom. Flashing touch wiz calendar solved it. Because aosp calendar was the culprit.

So I just installed the new AOKP Build 34 and booted up and errors start popping up, contacts has closed and acore crashes every 3 seconds. I redownloaded, rewiped, reflashed, same error. I searched around and found some people saying its contacts storage, so i cleared data and still get the same error. Any ideas? Thanks for any help

The first zip Task posted had borked framework (aka fc's up the ass.) He re-posted not too long after the fixed update.
Normally when there's nothing wrong (as in everything was packaged correctly) , and you were encountering the same errors it's an easy fix.
Go into recovery wipe dal & cache, wipe data/factory reset, use the kernel cleaning script for saftey precautions, install the latest aokp zip followed by gapps and you should be set.
Hope that helps, have a good one

Jelly Bean Qu's (possible issues)

Hi All,
My S3 updated to JB last night, I have a couple questions..
1. When I restart my phone a message saying android is upgrading apps always appears (Does anyone else keep getting that?/ Is it normal?)
2. Is there any way to change the vibrate/ringtone notifications, where the default I chose applies to all apps, rather than having to individually change settings in each app.
I am rooted, I have removed all the bloatware, but the rom and kernel are stock.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply,
everytime I restart my phone I get that message. Maybe something went wrong? but I did use kies to do the update.
Is there a cache I can clear, maybe it would stop it??
Update: Tried clearing Dalvik cache, didnt do anything.
When the phone started back up, it said upgrading 96 apps.
When it was done, I restarted and it still has a similar message :/
Im stumped.
Thanks in advance
Backup and try factory reset.

[Q] android.process.acore?

So i'm messing around with ROMs on my HOX+ and whenever i try to flash the team blackout rom, or the maXimus, after i flash it i get the "android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly" or whatever message and it never stops until i recover into my back up. I looked around and it seemed like no one else was having this problem on this phone. Does anyone know what the problem is?

I got the same thing once. Did a reinstall of the ROM and it corrected this.
I've tried that before and have gotten the same thing, is there anything i have to do differently while reinstalling in order to solve this
It's a problem with the ContactsProvider.apk. There's an OTA update but you could also check the following thread for download links: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080856
I figured it out! thanks for the help!

[Q] Error message, need help

I am running Android 4.2.1 and have not installed or updated any apps over past week. This morning, I switch on my phone and this error popped up (pic). I tried restarting it several times during the day and the error is persistent. My phone feels sluggish but otherwise functions as it should. How do I find out what app is causing this error message? It appears to be system related. Is there an app in Play Store that can tell me exactly what is causing this error?
BTW, I rooted my phone some 2 months ago and everything works well so I doubt it is because my phone is rooted. All my apps installed via Play Store so shouldn't be any malwares involved.
Mainly this error is caused by using a particular rom.
Changing the rom might solve the problem.

No, never tweaked anything except to root it but that was 2 months ago.
hmm.
Then try wiping the dalvik cache and the cache partition from recovery.
try it and then report..
OK, I will try your suggestions. Now I have to read up on just how to do that

Sorry I could not manage to try cleaning the cache because my phone decided to brick itself the following morning. Just like that. This morning, alarm on my phone went off like usual and I always do a restart to be fresh for the day. The phone is stuck at green android man. I did a power and vol+ and got a dead android man. I created another thread asking for help in reviving my dead phone. If you have comments, I will appreciate it.
