Report back when you do. I've been rebooting and shutting down the phone like crazy and it's been consistent with a 50% reading. The mV drops a little but that's to be expected when rebooting like that; at least it's not jumping to 70% or more. It's looking good thus far! FYI, i'm running the OTA deodexed/zipaligned and debloated (to the best of my abilities). Would love to hear reports from people running Eclipse. If it works, maybe Nitro can cook this into the ROM.

Setting at 16% right now waiting until I'm completely drained then I'll recharge while I NAND backup then I will flash and report back. On Eclipse 1.2RC1 now.
Flashed this at 90%. After reboot it showed 94%. Two more reboots and one power off cycle and it has dropped to 93%. Will report back in a few hours. Running eclipse 1.0

I will check this out later! Seems positive so far!
Yeah seems to be working. Have been using the phone nonstop since flashing. Down from 94 to 83% now, with 5 reboots and 1 off/on cycle.

Not having much luck today running Eclipse 1.0. After rebooting it goes back to 99%.

This has no effect on eclipse.
Nope. Stock seemed promising, but that's 10% increments and you may not see the jump. I'll update the OP accordingly. Hopefully, if anything, one of our more experienced devs will see this and check it and shed light on the issue. I still can't find anything on the Android kernel and whether this issue lies there. If so, we're likely at the mercy if moto for a fix.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Same here off charge this morning everything seemed fine untill i powered down. Came back on showing 99%. Didn't seem to happen for me with reboots only the hard power off. Seemed promising

2.3.3 is the fix.
Seems to work but only partially. When I was above 90% a reboot still caused the jump. But once below the initial 90% battery stats seem to remain after reboot. Will keep messing with it. Can't hurt.

I just quickly threw together one of these for the DX2 cuz i hate hot seeing my battery percentage or using a tacky 3rd party app. The battery only reads in increments of (edit:10%). You must have a custom recovery to flash this zip and you must have gingerbread also!
UPDATED 8/7 please download lastest version for working 10%increments
causes volume notification to read inaccurately when adjusting volumes(no idea why this happens)
to restore to factory settings flash the factorybatt.zip
Flashed now how do I get it to take the place of the old one?
Thanks! worked perfect...
Can it be confirmed that this does 5% increments?
(stock does 10% unless under 20%, then it does 5%)?
Don't mean to be picky, just asking from those who flashed?
Thanks and good work on this.
awesome, works great
Doesn't do 5percent

One thing I did notice is you must choose between this and crt animation you can't have both
X2RGB
oh thats why then ^
Actually now, it seems its dropping in %20 increments

the framework-res.apk for x2 gingerbread has stat_sys_battery_100png, 95png, 80png, 75png etc so i swapped images for 5% increments. I dont know why its not working that way. I realize motorola reads in 10% but theres an app on the market that can read the X2 in 1%increments so i dont think that matters i dunno
Installed it on my x2, works great. My only wish is that it was accurate to 1% instead of 10, but I know that's not your fault, it's Motorola's.
Thanks.

I've been searching for something like this! I don't like not being able to see my volume leves and was noticing a few other hiccups with the new 10% version, so I flashed back to the one that only displays 20% increments, hopefully only temporarily though.

I found out if you run your x2 down to around five percent battery and then charge it overnight with your comcast cable box, it charges it slower so it keeps the charge longer. I guarantee you will get good results with this. Also, first post

You do not have proof, upload a couple of screen shots of your actual battery usage.
I don't know why this isn't a bigger issue, or at least something that's questioned and crabbed about more often. I just rebooted at 50% battery, came back up on the other side of that reboot at 79%. Seriously? That seems like a huge jump and a much bigger issue than a few jabs and laughs. Am I missing something?
Saw somewhere that the problem surfaced at 2.3.4 and 2.3.3 had it right. I think there's a file 2.3.4 can't write to correctly or something.

It does seem to help a little, but it does not resolve the problem. Very next time you reboot, the reading could jump up 10-30 points. This has been a "big deal" on the forum - been discussed ad nauseam in several different threads. Seems to effect several different phone models. I think most folks have just accepted the fact that there's not much can be done about it until the kernel is fixed. Ironically, while the battery level anomaly happened with the upgrade to 2.3.4, the same upgrade has resulted in much better overall battery life. That's a trade-off I can live with.

fixin' to hit this up right quick... I'll report back shortly...
<runs off to nand... then flash>
ok, i made a nandroid backup.. then just flashed over my existing working daily driving CM7.. didn't wipe anything (wanted to just try a flash without wipe)..
Confirmed working on CM7 w/ Joker's 1.3 overclock kernel. First boot takes a while.. almost so long that I was pondering doing a battery pull.. but i waited.. (I had 45% battery left LOL).. after first boot I let all my widgets load etc.. then did another reboot (per the OP linked thread).. this thing seems SUPER snappy.. I'll report back tomorrow with my impression of battery usage improvements based on what's normal usage for me.
So far.. so good.. although the second boot seemed to take a bit longer.. it almost hangs a little on the moto screen.. but it WILL boot..
EDIT: forgot to mention, I have my phone set to 1gig max speed.. I am not overclocked (although I'm running the OC kernel).
Hope this helps (remember to hit the thanks button for me being the guinea pig)
so far I've ran it for a day phone boots faster, screen transitions are quicker no sign of lag any where not sure about battery cause I use my phone constantly but I get around 8-10 hours on a battery will see how that fares. but do far so good no fc, no lags, internet loads fast maybe just on my mind but I say its doing its thing me likey

I have a nandroid backup of my stock 2.3.4 pre cm7,can I just restore that and flash cm7 over it? If so should I do that knowing I have issues with cm7 from that? I didn't clear the big3 prior to flashing cm7 the first time but did per the steps in the beta thread, as will as a few times since.
So should I sbf, or restore and flash again?

If you are having problems you should definitely sbf and wipe data. Start over fresh to make sure no fragments of previous mods are lingering around.
However, the wifi issue seems to be a problem in cm7 for some. I had it and installed wifi helper. It didn't fix the problem just reconnected wifi when it would drop. I assume that's what you mean by wireless issues. If so, you might try wifi fixer before sbf and wipe.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Thanks for that, many people have posted saying that didn't fix the wifi related issues, but I will indeed give wifi fixer a go first before sbf...

I have had similar issues with Wifi and radio/data connectivity. I believe that there are some further tweaks that need to be made but as I understand Dragonzkiller is not making any more adjustments to this ROM but rather focusing on CM9
However, I have found that booting into CWR and wiping cache and Dalvik Cache has improved things. The wifi issues will be ongoing but for me I rather live with that than stock.
I've been using an app that seems to work well as far as keeping wifi on. Before, I did change settings to having it never sleep. It did fix it. Maybe once or twice I noticed it shut off. But a lot less than before I made the changes. But anyway, I am using this app called llama-location profiles. It pretty much changes the state of your device based on location and other triggers. For instance, I have it set to turn wifi on when I get home and to leave it on as long as its connected to MY wifi or leave the area then it will turn wifi off. Since using this, I have not once had a problem with my wifi turning off. The app does a lot more than just that too so I recommend it regardless.

What's the resource usage inn that app? Strangely enough I gave up after wifi fixer as well as multiple sbf and flash didn't resolve. i flashed liberty instead, and zero Wifi problems. So not the device, not the environment, all that's left is configuration and software. I'm fairly certain I had it configured right, the no sleep policy didn't add much stability, appeared to just ignore it. Bah! I want to run cm7! :[

To get to Liberty or cm7 did you end up doing a fresh sbf to a clean stock 2.3.4?
If you did and then if you didn't add any additional apps for a bit, do you still see the wifi issue on a clean cm7?
I would think this should help you learn if a software program is causing the wifi to hiccup.

It's an issue that doesn't happen on stock, liberty, or now eclipse, but every way I flash cm7 it comes back immediately. what do you mean by full wipe? And trust me I have sbf'd enough times in enough different ways to truly call "sbf'd" a four letter word...
Just because it doesn't happen to everyone doesn't mean it's not a cm7 issue. To be fair I'm not _sure_ it is a cm7 issue but I'd like to prove it's not, and haven't had real good luck doing so.

We're going to need more info.
What exactly is lagging? The phone in general or your keyboard?
Are you running stock? Or on a ROM?
Does this persist after you restart? Or have you had your phone on for months straight?
Are you running a bunch of Apps/Widgets? How much free space memory and RAM do you have?
My bros x2 lags. Its gotta be the blur...

Not necessarily. I can get cm7 to lag. I imagine the lag is caused by too many processes at one time.

It's really darn hard to brick this thing and flashing is easy.
I'll lay it out like you want to flash Cm7 and you are the 2.3.4 kernel
Root your device
Download Bootstrap recovery (fyi:clockwork recovery and Bootstrap recovery are the same thing)
Install Bootstrap recovery from whatever file manager you use
Get the Cm7 rom, Google apps zip and Cm7 recovery from the Cm7 thread in development and place them on your EXTERNAL sd card
Start Bootstrap (it'll appear as System recovery on your phone)
Wipe Data, cache and Dalvik (Advanced>Dalvik chache)
Then, install zip>choose zip from sd card (now here is where you're supposed to flash the zips from the Cm7 in a particular order. Refer back to that thread as I cannot remember what order it is)
Once you've flashed everything, go back to the first menu and reboot your system.
Also learn how to do a nandroid. Long, and sad stories short it saves assess.

I have used both Eclipse and CM7 on my DX2 for extended periods and I prefer CM7 simply because of how fast it transitions. If you want a lag free phone, go with that.
Follow what thelowend said above, flashing ROM's is really easy. Just read carefully and follow directions and you will be fine

Ok, over I've flashed cm7 but now my phone won't charge to 100%, it stays at 99%. Any ideas on how to change that

Try wiping battery stats from recovery or get a battery calibration app from the play store

your post here and in the other thread suggest that your battery is just losing its ability to hold charge. wiping stats might pretend that it's fully charged, but you're not going to get optimal charge on an old battery. you can pick up extras for cheap.

I bought some cheap batteries (believe it was a pack of two) for about $20 and they were terrible. They wouldn't hold a charge for longer than 2 hours.
