Road block app - Motorola Droid X2

Does any one have a app for road blocks for droid x 2?
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App

Wrong Forum, this should be in the Themes and Apps board.
Also, what are you talking about? Any app that worked on your previous Android Device should work on your X2. Google Maps lets you know traffic backups on main/majory roads. Are you looking for police checkpoint type app? And why? lol

Actually this shouldn't be in apps forum since it isn't an app or a theme.
It is a question about an app. Which falls under Q&A.
It would belong in apps forum if he had said hey here is an app for road blocks for the x2
And had a link for it
That is how I have always looked at it. I could be wrong. Or it could be in either forum.
at least it wasn't posted in development

First time on xda so I dont know where all to put things thanks anyways now I know who not to ask questions.

Sorry buddy.
I really wasn't trying to be rude.
Actually I said u were just fine where u posted.
Don't worry about it anyways.
Trust me I have posted my fair share of threads in the wrong forum. And came back later to find a bunch of rants and my thread moved to the correct forum. Was just commenting on the situation. Not mad at u at all brotha

Yeah.. certain people on these forums enjoy hijacking threads. Sorry about that.
Anyways, the Google maps app has a filter in the layers tab that can show you traffic on highways and such, if that is what you're looking for.

If u can clarify what you mean by road block I can give u some more info
do u mean police road block?
Traffic jam?
Construction blocking?

That is what I asked him in the first post lol. Unless you live in a congested area with a lot of people and major roads most of those apps don't work anyways since they typically rely on people reporting the cops/block/etc. Google Traffic only works on major roads, typically 4 lanes or more, and typically only when they are on highways(not stoplight to stoplight). It is only to report congestion usually, but they have a better real time report using data from street cams and the speed of vehicle using Google Maps/Nav on those roads.

Crappy search

Anybody else notice how the search in the xda app tends to bring back every result except the one you asked for? Have a for instance, last night I was searching for this thread (I assumed to be old) pertaining to the myTouch 4g and screen contrast issues. So i type in, glacier myTouch screen contrast. It brings back stuff on the evo, flyer, inspiration, the housing market in 03, and something about grape seeds and the allergic reaction they have towards condalisa rice... So maybe the last two were a lie, but you get my point lol there wasn't even any results from the myTouch 4g section lol

Yeah I hate how the xda app searches. I wish you can search a specific forum or thread instead of all the forums, sub forums etc...
I rarely use the search on xda. I get better result using google for xda specific items.
In my experience, all forums have garbage search routines. I never even use them. Use google instead. Put in your search terms and then put site:forum.xda-developers.com.

Oh I have no problems finding what i need with google, just the dag blast search engine in the app lol anyone have any female friends on google+ yet lol

My thoughts exactly. I paid for it so I could use it. But i love xda lol they've helped me with a great many phones just wish my searches would work, or like darkman said, links to the app sounds nice as well. Isn't their a way to integrate google search into Apps?

One of the biggest problems is that it sorts the results by date....which if you're looking for an older topic/post...good luck finding that....needs to have options to narrow search results.

How To Check If You Have Carrier IQ, Without Rooting Your Handset

Guys,
Greetings!!
This is relatively very new app less than one day old on market, please give it a try to download and install it.
Here is the info:
App Name: Voodoo Carrier IQ Detector
Where to get it: You can download thi from the Android Market
My tests show there is nothing sort of carrier IQ thing on my rooted stock ROM.
Its been said about a dozen times that our phone does not have this.
Lol whats up with all the carrier IQ questions all of the sudden. Did some news network run something about it or something?!?

Yeah, when the galnetmiui thing happened threads were closed fast. But every day there is a few new threads in the General and Q&A sections. Where are the mods now?
Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
When the galnet thing happened, I think Zelendel did one blanket thread search for Galnet (doesn't take much time) - if someone had created a new one it probably could've gone undetected for a bit.
Nuking existing threads using a search term takes a lot less time than whack-a-mole.
I normally don't report threads when people are lazy and don't search for breaking Rule #1, but the CIQ spam is getting out of hand....
Can someone tell me who this CIQ guy is and how does he make my phone smarter?
Wink....wink....

I wish this forum had some sort of detector that would tell you very quickly if something you're a post has been already posted.
Oh wait it does, it's called the search button you imbecile!

They do. I went through the process a couple months ago to help someone sign up. It's actually a lot more complicated than when I became a member. It required a captcha and a simple question like "Musical instrument that has several black and white keys" that you have to answer. Then you see the link to the video and a check box saying that you agree to the forum rules and that have read the video.
Unfortunately, there's no way to know if they actually read the forum rules and there is no way to verify that they actually watched the video.
Maybe we should implement a pop quiz before posting a new thread.

We have enough stickies. You can include it in your post though.
One of the main problem with stickies is that a lot of people use the XDA app to log on and search.
However most don't check the stickies tab at the top so they don't even see them when they search the forum. That's why at least 75 percent of the "noobs" post their questions that have already been answered. Seriously! Next time check to see if you notice a "Sent from my _____ using XDA App"
Hell... there's one in this very page! No offense to ebatr8 or anything I'm just proving my point that a lot of people use it. Unfortunately it's my belief that a lot of them use it as their primary source to log on. So a lot of content is missed because of it. And don't think that I don't check ip addresses! When I see someone with a stupid question I check two things:
1. Do they have a history of asking stupid questions?
2. Have they asked that stupid question multiple times?
3. Are they from another country? Sometimes the language barrier makes things difficult so I tend to have more patience.
4. I check the ISP of the person.
Now let me pick on ebatr8 just real quick. Don't take it personal or anything... but looking at your ip address you have "or.wavecable.com." What is that? Also.... I'm assuming you're using your home wireless network. So is it safe to assume that you also have a PC at home that you just don't feel like using? I'm not trying to pick on you or anything I'm just trying to see the appeal of that stupid XDA app. I use it when I have to but I would much rather have a PC. Maybe that's just me though.
That video is too funny. Thanks for sharing.

Don't care about windows. Plus we are talking about 300$ for an os vs a few bucks for a app.
Also, Jail breaking the iPhone was deemed legal by the us federal government.
What you are doing is illegal regardless.

Hi,
they(app develper) should make their app in such a way , that can't be crack, it is their security hole,
at least they(app develper) will learn from cracker, how to tighten security on their next update!
it's a lesson for them, they should use this as opprtunity to maximize their app security and reliability,

The Google licensing system is the thing that's easy to crack. Google should fix it, not the developers. Titanium backup itself has "Guru" out something I believe, which checks the license.
But it's a long time since I read this thing somewhere, so I don't know if they still gold.

Software is man made. There will always be a crack, or a hole. Nothing is 100%. This is why its illegal to do what you are doing.
Are you sure you are on the correct website? Shouldn't there be some hardware website for tools to post?

Not very intuitive at all...its easier to Google it then click back to the xda link than to try an find it here....just sayin.

Yes I have been using this for years too and never attempt searching on the site or app. Google will help my the site brings up non related content. Also first on xda university. I need to enroll. Kinda guessed that the reply would be "Use the search". I haven't yet seen a guide that shows screenshots of what the code actually does. I.e: before a code change the ui looks like this [Insert screenshot here] and after the code change a Ui looks like this [Insert screenshot here].
I've seen developers create features for their ROMs, like quick settings in notifications and stuff like that. Building the ROM is one thing but adding features is another. I wish their was a complete guide out their.
A lot of xda threads are becoming more like court cases nowadays. I see people with feature requests and then the developer just rudely says "Thanks for Sharing!" And takes no notice as if what someone said was pointless.

That would probably be because it has been asked a few million times (yes, it's an exaggeration but I think you get my point).
A lot of people will be very helpful if you come in here and show that you tried to figure out something on your own. I've read all of this or searched Google and the site and haven't found the info. However, when you come here and ask a question that has been posed over and over again you can start to get a bit of an attitude. It's generally because you have shown no initiative to look or get the info yourself.
Would the guide you want be helpful? Sure would. It's not though so one has to a lot of digging to get the info. That is one of the ways you learn how to do things here at XDA. Then, after learning one can go out and write the guide that is missing.
Here is something for you. A thread explaining how to use Google to search XDA specifically. It's located in a specific device forum but is good for everything (and no, I have never owned a Hermes. I found it by searching ).
