no matter which gingerbread rom I try to install, as soon as the rom boots up, i get a million forced close errors and I can't do anything because they keep force closing (such as the launcher, calendar, etc.)
i started from stock JFD rom, rooted installed clockwork, then installed the rom, and nothing =_= it's getting pretty annoying
Did you flash the GB kernal in odin first prior to flashing the GB rom?

did you install the gb bootloaders via odin?
I just flashed simply honey 5.1 yesterday. I had to flash their light version in odin with 512 pit before flashing the full rom. Also I did this a couple times because I forgot to disable lag fix. try that.
If memory serves, massive force close errors often happens when you forget to fix permissions after an install.
This exact same thing happened to me on my HTC Desire. The problem was the SIM card.
Are you from Israel by any chance? Cellcom is the provider?
In any was, I fixed it by going to the support center and replacing my yellow USIM card with an older regular SIM card.

I am new to this so I need help. Got impatient with verizon a few weeks back and downloaded and flashed my phone with Odin using ED01 build of Froyo for Verizon Samsung Fascinate. Everything was great, the phone was rooted and had CWM Voodoo lagfix recovery 2.5.1.x. Verizon releases Froyo finally and I decided to flash my phone back to Verizon Stock using DL09-leak zip. It loaded fine and starts fine. The only thing is now my phone is stuck with zero memory showing in the internal memory. I can't add apps or do anything. There isn't even enough memory to keep the initial setup setting. I have to enter them each time the phone is powered up. Someone tell me how to fix this problem. There are no apps on the phone above stock apps. I even backed up my SD card and reformatted it to be sure there was nothing on it mucking up the system. Same result.
Had Nandroid backups which when restored had lost apps from previous and also no memory. Can't even download terminal emulator to do command lines, even if I understood them.
It's a voodoo problem. Flash DI01 full Odin package and it will be fixed.

Had the same issue. Used the D101 and fixed. Since then re-rooted and running the cm7 rom and kernels. Kept the d101 in my computer with odin just in case.

To preface this, I have followed all instructions to a T in all threads related to this, so here goes.
I was running CM7 test 7 and all was well, then I updated to build 8 and still ok but no call audio so I flashed the .13 OTB kernel and the phone began to bootloop. I have since been unable to reinstall CM7 and have ODIN flashed the EB01 official and the Atlas .pit probably 10-12 times through the whole cycle to try and reinstall.
Now that I have given up on that I followed the steps to return to UKB 2.1 and after flashing everything booted fine but my touchscreen would not work...so, back to stock again and I have stayed there........but
Now every time I reboot I have to reinstall all my apps(they are still installed but force clse immediately), none of them save any settings or data when I exit and return to them and my launcher is throwing out "Unknown data error" in notifications every time I boot. It also resets all homescreen and system settings to default at each reboot and has to resync all contacts also.
I am hoping that someone can help we with this and that I have not flashed this thing to its breaking point and am totally screwed. Someone have mercy and know something...and yes, I have searched and have found a few threads on the subject but none with any answers.
thanks I hope
If you have most of your contents from your sd backed up on your pc and you have a spare sd card I would try putting your spare one in, put com rom on it and TiBu on it as well
Odin recovery, wipe data/cache/dalvik.. voltage settings too if your recovery has that option
flash ukb 2.0 reboot completely and do the 2.1 patch
I'm not a dev, nor do I know if this will fix anything but I went to cm7 a while back before deep sleep was fixed and when I went back to com rom to hold me over I noticed even after doing the atlas 2.2 and eb01..i still had a bunch of cm7 files on my sd card and it (ukb) was rather glitchey compared to before I tried cm7...i don't think that these can conflict with anything on the rom but if you have a spare sd what's it gonna hurt you said you've flashed/ repartitioned multiple times..what's once more!
If you can't get it fixed I would just go to the newest cm7 its just about perfect, the bugs in it are minor..imo...good luck!

I've got everything up and running with stock once more and everything seems to be good finally.
Honestly after all this I'm a bit hesitant to flash CM7 lol. I may a suit on it for a couple days and decide. Thanks

In the future, I would try the ext4 format utility from navenedrob right after you've returned to stock & before you flash any custom rom. It formats all partitions & may fix something overlooked by odin.

major problem.
i flashed team perfection objection ics rom. felt that i wanted to go back to stock and thats when the problem showed up.
i havent flashed any other custom rom before the objection ics. i came from stock rooted telus.
tried flashing the tar file from this thread
[STOCK][ODIN][GB][Telus] For those who wish to revert to stock Telus
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27508953#post27508953
- sometimes odin freezes but when it doesnt and actually finishes flashing, phone wouldnt start up after the automatic reboot. (how long should i wait for the initial boot to start? i wait for about 2-3 minutes of nothing but black screen before resetting)
i tried flashing the backup files from this thread
[ROOT]For TELUS Note (i717D) - No Flash Counter
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585440&highlight=telus+rooted+system
- after flashing, boots but gets stuck at the "touch the android screen to begin"
anybody have an idea whats going on?
tried 2 different stock tar files through odin and i cant get any of them to work.
i flashed back to the objection rom through cwm to make sure that my phone isnt bricked or anything. seems to be working fine. havent tried any other custom roms though.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Hi you may have a partition that is corrapted or there may be something wrong with that telus Odin flash. Go to dev section. There is another Odin flash for telus. It is a stock telus rom rooted that is flashed through Odin. It does work, I hav e used: t before. I will send you a link when I get home from work.

I may have found your problem. When using Odin, and flashing a backup file, it does not format your phone partitions. So you first have to go into cwm and do a factory wipe, wipe dalvik and go into advance and wipe the other dalvik . Do a battery pull, and now put your phone into download for Odin. I have telus kernel, telus modem and telus stock recovery that can be flashed in cwm. Just not sure if I have the stock from still. Pm me if you have any questions
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Just a update wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache before you use Odin to flash a rom. I told you partly wrong in precise post

thanks for the help guys
thanks for the help guys.
i dont know if its a partition problem though but it really got me worried.
for some reason i got it to flash properly and it booted up with no problems.
now im thinking thats its the odin software that was causing the problems. the first one that i used to root my phone a couple of weeks back had an "evo 4g" title at the top. it didnt gave me any problems back then so i ignored it. and thats the same one ive been busting to use last night to flash back to stock. anyhow, i tried using a different odin3 that has "android+slp" label on it and i noticed that it was freezing less and actually finishes the flashing but the bootup still has some problems. i get stuck at the bootup logo for a couple of tries. after sometime i just flashed it over and over again until i hit the jackpot.
is there anyway that i can check if my partitions are still broken? im thinking that i wont be doing any flashing until the update comes in july. the ics roms arent stable enough for me anyway.
oh what do i do if wanna get the official ics update? i have stock system, i think, but its rooted. do i just flash stock kernel and unroot it?
i found an article in lockermikedotcom that allows you to unroot using a batchfile. i was wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction. thanks
If you have a stock rom but it is rooted, flashing a stock kernel usually does not remove root. You would have to install stock recovery first and then you adb to remove the superuser and busbox files from your phone to get it totally stock like it was before you rooted it. This batch file DooMLord_v1_unrooting_zip will unroot your phone .It work on the Rogers Note anyways. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?7ysrb3v7tfu9t1a
Sometimes my phone randomly rebooting when i installing and Unninstall the app... Does this problem with my custom rom or kernel? But sometimes my phone was freeze then it rebooting.... I'm using paranoid android 2.99 with stock custom rom kernel...

You can always try to backup all of your apps/data/pics ext., and copy them to either an SD card if your phone supports it or copy them to a hard drive. Once that's done do a factory reset which will wipe the phone clean and then reinstall the rom of your choice. Most times that will solve little bugs like what your experiencing. If you've already tried this then check to see if your running the latest version of the rom.
I was using cm 10.1 no problems then i updated to newest nightly for dec.4th and it updated with gmail and no playstore, superuser. i tried to DL the google services apk as well as the newest playstore apks, services did not install and the playstore did but cannot connect at all. I then downloaded the proper gapps for 4.3.1 and flashed it and now my phone is stuck on the startup screen. I have no backups anymore for some reason either, my cmw recovery is still good but with no backup i can't figure what to do about stock since checking sammobile i cannot find the proper stock firmware.
Im in canada and this phone was bought unlocked it's the international version but i don't know which region to flash since there is no canadian or US version on sammobile.
if anyone can help me i'd appreciate it im only looking for stock so i can start over again then re root and flash my rom again since i seem to be stuck.
please and thank you
If you're going to go back to a custom rom anyway, why would it matter what stock rom you flash ? You're only using it to get your phone working normally again so you can re-root it & flash CM/whatever again, you can flash whatever stock rom/for whatever country/carrier you want (but not Android 4.0.4 given you'll be re-rooting your phone immediately after).
Samfirmware's firmwares are unavailable at the moment due to HotFile being shutdown, go to AndroidFirmwares.net or Samsung-Updates.com, download a firmware, flash it with Odin & go from there.
Or if you have a removable micro SD card, you can download just your cusROM of choice (+ the associated gapps) to it via PC, put it in the phone, do a full wipe/format and flash it via your pre existing cwm.......no need to go back to stock at all......
This might be my S2, or it might be my W...but it's definitely CM
That's the way I did it and ended up being stuck at boot screen.

Click to collapse
That's why I mentioned formatting the phones partitions before the flash......in effect you'll be clean flashing onto blank/pristine storage/memory......
