Saying that my file had 'download unsucessful'. Hence, i had also tried an apps that said to download all types of file. But wont work.

Uget works most of the times. Be aware that checksums can turn out a little.. off.. sometimes; if you're downloading image files for example
I'm having a problem downloading apk files from here.. and installing them on my atrix.
I'm gladrooted.. downloading apk files from here or other sites on my macbook pro.
i put them on both internal and external sd cards and trying to use astro to install them but they are showing up with no install options. everything is blank in the file info. Am i doing something wrong?
The same process used to seem to work while I was arooted.. but no idea what could be different now.
I can download them from the website straight to my phone and install them fine.

I downloaded ESTRONG file manager and they all work now... bad bad astro.
Hi Frnds,
I want The old youtube app from Eclair version of our phone.
This is because the froyo or the latest version require high speed internet connectivity(which i don't have) and takes really long time to buffer whereas i remember that the old version from eclair was fast(Of course video quality is compromised, but its OK)

it is an .apk file
you need to install root explorer ( you need root access to install this)
Then simply copy this file, navigate to /system/app (on top there should be a button saying mount r/w, press that once) after simply press paste replacing the old one.
an alternative way to install is to just delete the youtube.apk from /system/app using root explorer and installing this youtube .apk file normally like an installation from file manager.
This is where i gave you the link from, its the thread with the stock apps of i5800

Ive tried using file manager to navigate to my dropbox folder but i cant find it. Anyone have any ideas?
I had to hunt around for it myself...
/sdcard/Android/data/com.dropbox.android/files/scratch
Thanks. It was weird, I downloaded a nes rom and when I clicked it in dropbox it said "there is no program to open this app". I tried it again later and it placed the file in the location you stated.
Hi guys,
I was checking my download folder today using the default Files app and saw this .apk file that I didn't download. Naturally, I wanted to remove the .apk but when I tried to remove it, the function failed.
I tried to get more information but there's nothing I can do to the .apk. I can't open it, copy it, rename it, etc.
Next step, I plugged my phone into my computer and looked at the internal Downloads folder via USB file transfer. I could not see that specific .apk, even with view hidden objects on.
So, I went into my file manager app (Amaze with root access) and went to the emulated Downloads folder, same thing. The folder did not show the .apk at all.
I opened up SD Maid and see if they can find and remove the file, but nope, didn't work.
Now, I'm thinking it's probably just a bug with the Files app so I deleted user data and cache, restarted my phone and all that but still, that .apk persists.
I'm at my wit's end and I have no clue how to remove this file. Any help will be appreciated.
I'm using Google Pixel 3, Android 10.
