Player Pro , PowerAmp and DSP manager.
If you're gonna try Player Pro you will want to download the DSP app for it as well (they will guide you through it in the app.)
PowerAmp equilizer is built in I believe.
You wont find DSP manager in the market since it's a app by the Cyanogenmod team, search DSP manager apk in google and ull find it. Unlike the other two this DSP manager will change the sound for the whole phone and not only a music player. (you have to be rooted for this to work, i think)

hello all
can we improve our ace's audio codes so that we can get good quality sound in headfones using CM7.1?
Hello you, how is the sound bad?
Yeah, how is the sound bad?
You're refering to a equilizer, aka dsp manager in CM7

Not sure about installing codecs but there is apps which support a lot of music formats! Just search through the top rated apps.
Since you are using CM7, check your "DSP manager", the options there will let you improve the audio.
I tried dsp manager but i found poweramp giving better sound
Well, there you go. I personally like Player Pro DSP better(even though im not using it).
It is like even of u activate bass bosster in dsp bas in annoying
I'm trying to get the "Dynamic Range Compression feature working in DSP manager. in my "Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 (YP-G70) I have installed the .apk file and all the functions of DSP manager seem to work except for the "Dynamic Range Compression" Feature. Does DSP manager need to be flashed to unlock this audio feature?? My device has been stock rooted, but I am unable to use CWM recovery because my device is NOT listed. Any help would be appreciated.

You cant flash dsp manager. Or did you simply mean push/install it via adb?
How about the most simple answer..... Its not compatible with the YP70 .
Email the dev of the app and request an update.
And why would u want dynamic range compression anyways.
Your not pumping out anything but 2.0 stereo and not a very good one at that.

I listen in a very noisy environment and it's very difficult to hear any quiet passages for any thing, (especially listening to movies or video clips) but the loud segments are too loud. DRC would help level that out. I can't believe this hasn't been more of an issue and people wanting this for PMP's and smartphones for that reason.
The DSP manager does install and the equalizer and other sound effects work fine, but with DRC enabled, there is no effect on the audio. I assume that's the incompatibility with this player part.
I will try testing it while monitoring the logs via adb.
Is there any way you can improve the sound quality on the ace?
Get better headsets, get genuine tracks, and maybe customize your equalizer.
Dsp manager
Sent from Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 using Spacecaker's SGSII 2.3.5.
Dont jus say thanks, use d 'THANKS' button. [XDA RULE]
You can use Bravia Engine, XLoud, and some other audio enhancing engine by searching the forum. You must have at least a CM 7.1 for this to work. It helps.

you can either install CM7.1 then install a mod (find it in dev section) for Xloud, bravia eng. etc. or Use gingercruzt rom. or just download dspmanager/ equalizer. try to explore
Use Volume+ from market, it has great equalizer and tutorial how to set it up
install poweramp.. but for listening music only..
...really dont suggest using Xloud cuz it has the tendency of frying your sound chips thus would result to a very bad sound... had my mine fried after using xloud on sonygen inspired custom roms, luckily it was still under warranty... better use DSP
i think CM7 will be enough. if not, try poweramp. also good quality headset will be important too.
Guys...NO XLOUD..Its a sound chip frier back to topic..Dont use Xloud..Flash CM7,then use DSP Manager..Thats the best you can do,dont forget the headset
Hello Everyone,
This is my first post in the Ace Sectio, Deal with it
I just rooted my phone, installed MIRACLE v4, installed Beats Audio...
and i have a problem...
If i watch a Commentary video (dont mind that with beats audio or without it) The Voice Commentary is Really Quiet, but the music is VERY LOUD! and i can't do anything with this, i think its the fault of the 30 Volume Steps, not of the video, cause on my PC and with other ROM its fine, and commentary isn't quiet... Oh and i installed DSP Manager too, but everything is the same
I'll link a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKJMljrIGuc&list=UUH-_hzb2ILSCo9ftVSnrCIQ&index=2&feature=plcp
Please Help me
Any Suggestions?
Don't change any setting on DSP..using Youtube app or some other streaming app?
And if you've a spare headphone, then try using that to check whether it's the headphone problem.
Using original YoutubeApp Downloaded from Play Store, Xperia x8 Headphones, so its not the problem of the headphones (Its working Quite Perfect on Other ROMS and even on other phones ) Did not set anything in Dsp manager, but i tried to set something, but it wasn't better...

At least check with another headphone will not hurt
if the problem persists undo the beats lib. or re-flash the ROM (no need to wipe if you're re-flashing on the same ROM,you won't get boot-loops) Can I know which beats did you flash? Several out here these days..
I tried 4 Types of B.Audio
And i just realized... The headphones aren't good to this phone, i have to buy a new one
Thanks for the help
And i just installed B.Audio, cause on maximum volume, it wont do weird sounds
maybe the beats audio mod is not compatible with DSP manager, like the case of SRS Trumedia mod?

PowerAmp does that and is the best music player for android devices in my opinion. You can get Voodoo Control (which is now Voodoo Sound Plus) to boost the output (well at least on the 4.0 anyway) and like what KOala888 DSPManager too. I have all 3 on my US GP 4.0
Any voodoo apk doesn't work on sgp 5.0 with biuld.prop as gt-i9000.
I personally don't use eq, only bass boost sometimes in dsp. Sgp plays better than my pc integrated sound card when plugged to 150w speakers.
