Just want to know what should be the possible cause of this one.
I activated my phone's flight mode (disabling service provider data connection) for about 20mins then after deactivating it my phone can't acquire signal from my service provider. I try alot of things; reboot the phone, reinserted sim card and battery, shutdown for 5 mins; wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, enable data network mode (will acquire signal but lost after a minute).
After getting paranoid for about 1 and a half hours its suddenly gets okay.
Don't know what process worked or this just a bug or something.
Do somebody know/explain about this?? thanks in advance.
Edit: I'm on S5830DXKPD 2.3.4 Gingerbread. (updated via Kies)

I could solve the problem with entering the data of my carrier as apn in the settings
--------------------
Yesterday I replaced my Touchscreen and installed the Custom ROM heroine++
But now my Mobile Internet is not working anymore. Wifi does work without problems. I already tried to disable and enable mobile internet and airplane mode, restarted my phone several times and finally installed another radio.
But I can't get my Mobile Internet to work.
Do you think a complete wipe of alle settings will make it work or should I consider a reinstall of heroine++? Or did I destroy something while changing my touchscreen?
Thanks in regard.
If your phone connecting to carrier (you can call) that try add your APN settings for your carrier.
Also you can make full wipe if your APN was install in rom by default.
And you can try other roms, radio or kernel. If you've got signal I don't think so you broked anything.
Info: HTC One M9 Sprint Variant
When I had installed a custom ROM on my phone prior to bringing the phone to sprint to activate it, the Sprint tech inserted a SIM card and did some things on the phone, and the phone had a 4G connection icon, but couldn't place any calls. Nor could the Settings>Activate This Device be used (loading forever), and Settings>Update PRL & Update Profile also would give some network error.
However when I wiped everything back to factory defaults, the phone (despite being being wiped) was able to pull that network info from somewhere and easily connect, at which point the updates could be downloaded.
So questions:
If I wipe /data/ and /system/ to install a new ROM, will I lose this network connection info?
Where did the phone pull that info from after I wiped/factory reset it?
Hey guys,
since one week my phone doesn't connect to my mobile provider anymore, it says emergency calls all the time. When I restart my phone it requires the pin to unlock it - so my phone detects the SIM also the strength of the signal changes and I can also search for other providers but I can't connect to any of them. I've checked the SIM Card in another phone without problems. I did a reset of the connection settings but without any success.
It's making me crazy because im travelling right now and my mobile is pretty useless also I don't have a PC with me to reflash the ROM...
TWRP is flashed and the phone runs with Fulmics Rom 3.5
edit: after updating to Fulmics Rom 4.0 the mobile connection worked for a few hours but now it's the same problem again. I did a clean flash with a factory reset...
The Problem is resolved for OP. However, we are keeping it open just in case someone else runs into the same problem and wishes to discuss their issue.
Here are the symptoms:
When going into the network settings and pressing choose a network operator, it says "Error while searching for network"
If I select "choose network automatically", it says "registered on network" but nothing changes.
When I tried to make an emergency call, for example, it tells me to turn off Airplane mode. However, if I scroll down the notification bar, Airplane mode is OFF.
In About Phone> SIM Status>:
Network - Unknown
Network type - Unknown
Service state - Radio Off
Signal Strength - 0dBm 99asu
Network State - Disconnected.
IMEI IS THERE. NOT CORRUPT.
Dialing *#*#4636#*#*
Will not let me change preferred network type.
Pressing Turn On Radio does nothing.
Neither does updating smsc.
I did what anyone with common sense and a little research would do.
Reboot phone
Remove/insert sim
Tried my dad's sim, which is on a different carrier.
Tried slot 2 as well
Wiped cache partition
Then as a last resort, full hard reset. I have wiped dalvik, system, data, user data and cache.
...But to no avail.
Restore qcn from other device still not fix error
Restore qcn from other device still not fix error
Maybe you need to update baseband firmware
I can't get the data connection to work at all, and it won't even connect to a 4g network even when the signal is strong. Mine is a H930DS (Joan?)
I just reinstalled the stock pie using "H93031a_00_OPEN_EU_OP_1105.zip", I installed in TWRP. I followed the instructions on the first page of this thread .....
I have tried various custom roms on this phone but this stock pie is one of the very few that even recognizes the sim card. I settled on stock pie inspite of the bloatware.
The problem happens when the rom is brand new, before ANYTHING is disabled or removed.
When I choose to search for a Network Operator (using the 3 Network sim) I get a "3 RAT-4G" and a "3 RAT-3G" listed and it will never connect to the 4G if I choose that one. It will only connect to the 3G. Even when the signal is very strong (5 bars). When I opt to connect to the 3G network then I get a stronger signal if I choose "GSM/WCDMA auto" in "settings>>network>>mobile netwroks>>network mode" but still no data connection
THESE DIDN'T HELP
1 - using ADB and restarting the phone in bootloader. It was to reset the modem I think. There was a series of 3 commands to follow. i can't remember the details of this method but I think one of the commands included "fastboot erase modemst2". I tried it and I was getting the same error message that other people reported and it didn't go anywhere.
2 - The following solution didn't work either..............
"re-loading IMS settings using the LG Hidden menu: Dial *#546368#*930# using the stock dialer -> Field Test -> IMS Setting -> Test -> Load Preset Configuration -> Initialize Configuration. Then back out twice to Field Test -> IMS Setting -> Test -> Restart IMS process. Give it a few minutes."
3 - Resetting network settings didn't help either (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Network settings reset).
4 - Changing APN, or network bands (in settings ... choosing "LTE/GSM/WCDMA auto" or "GSM/WCDMA auto" or "WCDMA only")
5 - Changing "set preffered network type" in engineering mode settings (accessing using *#*#4636#*#*)
How can I use data connection on my H930DS?
Data modem works now!
SOLVED!
My phone has bootloader unlocked and TWRP revcovery. That's obvious I know but I only say it again in case anyone tries this with a locked bootloader and using a stock rom that has never been flashed. (I have to warn you that your results will be different, your rom will be reset for sure an your data will be wiped).
I tried so many things, flashing up and down from 8 to 10 but Stock Pie was always the least buggy for me so I persevered with that.
I think this solution reset the hardware, but I am no expert.
The solution is basically a "Factory Reset (R&D Only)". They warn you against it but with my configuration all it did was reboot the phone into recovery and then left it for me to decide what to flash or wipe, as per usual. What I only realized later, when I rebooted into system (without changing anything in TWrP) was that it had reset the hardware, or reactivate data connectivity. NowI have 3g data connection and 4g connection.
THE SOLUTION
*the following 4 lines are a direct quote (my phone's os DID NOT reset)
1) Backup everything, as the phone will be wiped. If yours is a network unlocked carrier model, make sure you have an unlock code (or unlock approval if T-Mobile).
2) Remove your Google account to disable Android Device Reset Protection.
3) Dial *#546368#*930# (replace 930 with your model number). This should open the service menu. From there SVC Menu - Factory Reset (R&D Only).
This takes quite a bit longer than normal Factory Reset. Your phone is now TRULY back to factory state.
I took out the sim and sd card before I committed to the reset. But like I said, it didn't wipe anything (maybe it would have wiped my sd card but I am not testing that). It just booted into recovery and when I rebooted into system I found that the data connection was working. Now finally it is a smartphone!
