Gerbil 6 Shooter v.2 DeOdexed
This is my 2nd rom for the HTC EVO 3D. I already have an Odexed ROM but wanted a DeOdexed one to play with. Welcome to Gerbil 6 Shooter v.2 DeOdexed!!!
The Goods.....
I'm about to release a version 1 version of the rom, if you dl please leave feedback with any problems you find..also i have noticed this with ALL ROMS, setcpu must be started after a reboot as it does not apply settings after reboots, so when you reboot your phone (which is probably rarley) go to your setcpu and just open it to reapply settings..so far everything is works, is fast and stable. BUT if you find any issues please let me know as i am working on this rom and a photon 4g port. Thanks.
-zip aligned
-busybox
-deodexed
-ice blue overscroll
-optimized widgets
-portal boot animation
-others i'm forgetting....please leave feedback
Download release 1 Here
Need testers for an updated version, PM me if interested...thanks.
-updated (unreleased, pm me if you want to try) includes yellow overscroll
-better browser, much much faster
-better email app
-better messaging app
-others i'm forgetting..
MODZ.......

Thank you!
Thank you for the news!
I will test and post any findings.
Nice rom what's the difference between deodexed and odexed Rom thanks.

I liked your other Rom GerbilSense-6 shooter-w/Netarchy Kernal-updt 08/08 was good but my battery life was horrible. The sync was always on. other than this ur rom was fast and lite. very good with memory as well

sync wasn't always on, it was just the icon that would stick when you first synced when boot the phone, if you went in and hit cancel sync, then sync all it would sync just fine and the icon would disappear like it should.
Oh okay is there something. In which. U can do to improve battery life I love this rom.

Hey Kimmel, after flashing the V3 my mail app was missing from the lock screen, but I went into the setting and put it back, then my phone icon went missing, but I cannot seem to get that one to come back. I remember seeing this issue in other ROMS. Hmmm.. Seems to be only the weather screen.
What is it I'm doing that doesn't allow me to wi-fi tether? All these ROMS say "tethering unlocked", but I can't seem to connect with any of 'em!

This one you can find in market.
Been trying to get three excellent roms for my phone, one stock based, one CM, and one Miui.
Miui has been the most customizable and the biggest pain to get 100%!! Lol!!
I just got waaay to sick of seeing the sony blue color!! And actually, CM6 - 7 is what lead me to the xda site!!
Great work Sir!! Thanks again!!

Very fast, very responsive. CM is the first thing beyond 2.1 that I tried and got me hooked. This is pretty awesome, so far. I tried Amins first, then this and I miss some things from Amins here which I believe is 7.2? Like the lockscreen options and such. Overall this rom went 12 hours with me and no problems at all. The wifi seems a bit slower and hard to connect compared to the oodie miui prime, but this is a great rom, the camcorder is smooth and playback is great too. Nice stuff thanks!

Uploaded for locked bl
Just installed on locked bl and works great. Using DM's v4b kernel.
Only thing I don't like is the three buttons below the launcher icons. When I press the 'home' button(not the physical one on the phone, the ICS 'virtual' one) the launcher crashes and I have to restart it. I've gone back to launcherpro and now it's a smokin' rom.

Did you try fix permissions? Mine is unlocked and no problems with tree icons.
I did not. Perhaps I'll try that. I'm not convinced I like the tree icons...but the ICS look is new.
Will try and report back.
---------- Post added at 02:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:10 PM ----------
UPdate...no change. The middle tree icon works okay when you're in the app drawer but when you click it from any homescreen you get the 5 mini home screens and no matter what you push next, they disapear and there's a whole where the app drawer icon should be.

For both roms, flash with xrecovery
Installed with DoomV06-1113.
Smooth very little lag.
Sveral small problems.
1) Flash Tool V5.3 does not see phone as X10, see attached snip.
SO-01C is not on the list of recognized names for X10, can use X10,
X10a, X10i or es209ra, may be some others.
UPDATE: the other is SO-01B
2) Home wallpaper has some very light areas, difficult to read icon text
3) No snapshot option in power off list
How hard is it to get wi-fi to recognize WPA2?

Thanks for the answer...
btw i have a little more questions...
after using v6.1... i realise that i am no longer able to take screenshots on my sgs2. the home + power button does not seem to work. is there a different way on this rom to take screenshots? or need another app?
also is there a way to remove homescreens? by default it has 5 screens, can i disable one or more of it?
last question, how do i configure to set the USB connect on default as usb storage instead of media server?
UPDATE: seems like the battery percentage for 6.1 is released: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22790151&postcount=492

I really missed the days i can take a screenshot just with home + power buttons .Now i'm using a app to take screedshots(do a search in the market then you'll find many). Hope the CM9 team intergrate Screenshots in their work.
Are you using Trebuchet launcher ? If so you'll find the homescreed settings in Trebucher settings(press menu key in homescreen and select Trebucher settings) .
The media server is annoying to me too but now i'm trying to get used to it.Maybe you can try this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389375

thanks to your reply i now know about trebuchet. now that helps me to reduce those unused homescreens. but some of the options does not work such as Dock and Icons. Ill have to start googling about this anyways...
but yeah i hope spike will add the screenshot. i dont want an app for that. better to intergrate it with the rom i think.
SPIKE, if you see this, i sincerely thank you for this awesome ROM. you have done great. I am loving every bit of it. thank you!
Guys,
I was reading the development thread, and now there is a 6.1 version. Somebody said that he updated from ROM 2.3.6 to Pure ICS 6.0...
I would like to be sure if this can really be done without having to install stock ROM first or something like that. I have stock ROM 2.3.5 with root, and I would like to know whether I can go straight to flashing Pure ICS 6.1 with Odin or not.
I am asking cause I have seen many different comments on approaches people have followed, and I want to know whether I can do this first or not.
Thanks!
The trebuchet is far from complete and still under development(pretty stable for a alpha release ,though). You can have a try at Nova launcher and see if it fits you.
---------- Post added at 07:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:51 PM ----------
I suggest you flash a sammy leak ICS ROM first , it won't take you so much time.

There should not be any issues. I flashed straight to 6.1 from a stock official release of 2.3.6. worked fine for me. did not have issues. just make sure to follow the steps provided carefully.

I just flashed Pure Special Edition straight from one of the KI or KJs, everything works ok (Great rom btw) but I noticed the colors are slightly off. Almost like overexposure?
The color looks slightly faded and runny in and is quite obvious in videos and games. Wonder what's the issue here? should I reflash?
Cheers

Screen Mode was set to Standard, and setting it to anything else make it look worse... However, the screen did look slightly better once I turned off auto brightness and adjusted it manually. Totally forgot that ICS had a problem with this!
However, I noticed that stuff like font edges isn't as sharp as when I was running stock. I guess I'll flash stock ICS tonight to check what the problem is...
pure ics 5.0 vs 7.1 battery life.
Hello. Why is my battery life 100% better with Pure ICS v. 5.0 than 7.1? is there a way to make 7.1 as great (im my opinion) in terms of battery life as 5.0? of course 7.1 is fully functional and I would like to keep it.
Thanks.
Transparent lockscreen
Hi all,
Does anyone know if spike is planning to get rid of the samsung lockscreen?
It would be so much nicer to have the stock transparent lockscreen as on the galaxy nexus.
Hopefully it will come round with 7.3.
For those who want to install AOSP Calendar in Spike 7.2, maybe can try flash AOSP Package for Pure ICS v7.0
ICS call screen
I wanted to know if there are plans to incorporate the in call screen from ICS into this ROM? I switched from CM9 to Pure ICS and so far it's the only thing about CM9 that I prefer.
You can ignore my above post, apparently this is a future theme change. Looking forward to when it actually gets implemented.

Hey Lokibg,
If i compare your zip to the "PatchST18iV2.0.zip" i see there's some stuff missing in your zip. With v2.0 you have to manually add orig build.prop from ray.
Was this done on purpose ? I mean , for example the wifi libs from neo, arc, pro roms work on ray too ? (sorry cannot test now)
attached you find the patchv2 zip, in case you dont have it. I like sharing for the benefit of "all"

nothing much really! ahahaha i just removed all the dead apk's in the app folder in system and edited the build.prop to show that it is a ray. you would also want to change the home launcher to have the settings and default themes, i got mine from the Gamers rom.
lock screen is full functional with all notifications, UI is GB+ICS+JB, video quality is a little low but barely noticeable, batt life is good, gaming experience is superb!
attached my latest score, it dropped a little after installing some apps but it is still 7100+

for sure u can also try my tweaks
In fact I found some bugs, could you please cross-check?
1. I can't access CWM anymore after update to 1.2.1 and playing a little bit with the rom (confirmed after clean install)
2. Smallapps only partially working - notes and app with the mic don't start (hold on home button to test it)
3. Multiple bootloops on SONY logo, only way to resolve is POWER + VOL UP combination for 5 seconds.
4. NFC removed completely...
5. MyXperia app FC.
Still, ROM looks fantastic 'till now
EDIT:
ad.1 CWM can be accessed by tapping sony logo on boot... now that wasn't obvious
ad.3 Sometimes you just have to wait for a couple of minutes for device to boot without any real reason
I'm looking for a perfect Rom for my daily use. Can Sb tell me if in this Rom is any battery drain? And which fixes (if any) whould you recommend?

Easy instalation (thats why i chose this rom). Had a little problems with flashing (bootloop) but 2nd time flashing evrything was ok (just my bad)
No lags in UI, no more unwanted apps, and almost perfect for daily use (got little hangup when entering to contacts. But its heven compared with official stock firmware (allmost 5 sec frez :/)
Had a little confusion with governors (witch one i should use) but after 2 days of test im realy happy with hotplugx + row (800/200) (antutu is 5447). On ondemend + sio (same 800/200 mhz i had battery drain (or maybe it was just a felling.. -> im targeting for longer battery life and no lag in UI. (max i had on interactive + sio 1ghz got 6791)
xperia sola is living 2nd life on this rom and im realy happy again for buing this phone so thanks all devs that make this rome happen (thanks buttons checked )

Best JB ROM
This ROM is absolutely superb! :good:
I'm using it for the last 5 days without even a minor hiccup. Using Titanium backup I manually uninstalled few more bloatware. Its snappy and smooth, wish it had few more themes though.
when charging the touch is unusable, there is a fix ?

the ROM is realluy good after the updates except my phones screen freezes for half a second and flashes diagonally
this happens especially when the CWM installs cross breeder update and when i play games
is this fault ony on my phone or is it a rom fault?...

UPDATE up and running:good:
ROM is smooth lags not found
battery is good 2 percent loss on 8 hrs of night standby (no stamina mode or airplane mode)
lock sound is cool
new home is faster this appdrawer is better than one in project GX 4.1.2
new walkman works fine
and FYI people who have problems with system UI crashing u should not have cleared data or dalvik cache after flashing stock JB,
Flash the .54 FTF, Let it load and Fastboot experimental 7.1 kernel, then flash Stock JB from Munjeni
reboot, let the ROM setup then reboot into CWM wait for some time in boot as it ll take more time
then flash Project XV 2.1.1 without clearing data or dalvik cache
That should give u a good working ROM
Will test and Post about Bugs If any..:highfive:
