[Q] Do you have to uninstall theme before installing another? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I installed a custom theme and was wanting to try out a different one. I am on the UnNamed 1.0.3 rom, btw. Do I have to revert to the stock 1.0.3 theme before flashing a new one in CWM or can I just flash the new one without reverting?
Thanks.

You can just flash the new one. When you flash a theme, it replaces system files. Flashing a new theme will just replace the old theme files.

Thanks for the quick answer! You guys here are the best with helping out. I have always been an iPhone person, from the original to the 4, but finally wanted something new that I could actually mess around with. I can't believe it took me so long to go android!

Lol....that's what a lot of people say.
The only thing is, that some themes may not "theme" all of the same applications. So if you have a situation where one part of an old theme was retained, it means your new theme didn't change everything that maybe another theme chose to customize. In this situation, there are ways to revert that part to stock or even to a different theme. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get there lol.
Good luck.

If you end up changing themes alot, you can always just flash the rom again and then do whatever theme you wanted. Flashing a rom will always undo all theme changes.

Let's say I was to flash the same rom again (UnNamed 1.0.3). Would I need to do a wipe first? Thanks again for all the help.

Generally, no. Most people will say yes. If you're updating from UnNamed to a newer version of it, then no.

[Q] ROM 2.3.3. How to install MIUI after a ROM install

Hi,
I recently installed OVERDRIVE SERIES gingerbread 2.3.4 a2sd/40 languages/stable and now I want to install its MIUI - Formels MIUI gingerbread 2.3.4. as far as I am aware I should install the MIUI via xrecovery. However the xrecovery 0.3 is not to be installed on ROM 2.2 and 2.3....
How am I supposed to access the recovery menu to install the MIUI??
Any help is much appreciated.
xRecovery is included in custom roms.
But it is advised that you do a clean reinstall of 2.1 then move onto a new custom rom.

[Q] Status Bar dead after flashing a ROM. Help!

Ok. So here's the deal. I downloaded and installed a ROM that gave me an ICS look a like. I flashed the ROM and when i booted up, i was greeted with a message telling me my status bar wasnt functioning. I'm not looking to fix this, i'm looking to get my old stuff back. I have everything i had backed up in Titanium backup and on my external SD card. I went to restore and it just started loading my old stuff back onto the phone with the theme still there. I tried a factory reset, but it's still there... I want this corruptive theme gone. It's this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382595
If anyone can help me, please do. This is awful. Also, i tried using Nandroid in Rom Manager, but it was telling me it was missing signatures of sorts or something. I'm not sure exactly. How do i get my old stuff back?! Please help!
Too easy...
Anyways, if all you did was flash what you linked without have Shostock Rom installed then you did wrong.
What Rom are you currently running?

Personally I would flash ShoStock (if you want that theme and a better rom) OR try flashing UCCK6 on top of what you have.
Themes you find in that section are mostly meant for custom Roms, not official AT&T.

First definition answers the op question...http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=op
And as LilChris already said you need to do a lot more reading, take the time to understand what your doing before flashing things. The theme is not meant for stock.
As for the list of roms....you download the one you want, if the theme is your main concern then download ShoStock. If not, then pick one you like.

I would suggest installing ShoStock since its a decent ROM based on stock. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache before flashing. It can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353513
Nandroid, nandroid, NANDROID!!!
Next time you have a working phone, do a nandroid backup. Then if you screw things up but can still get to recovery, you can always go back to your happy place.

[Q] Downgrade from an ICS Rom to a 2.3.6 ROM

I upgraded my sgs2 from unnamed 2.2.1 to SHOStock 2.1 and I was wondering how I could go back to UnNamed 2.2.1? I tried looking around, but I couldn't find a definite answer. Should I just boot into recovery and flash the unnamed zip? Or what should I do?
Thanks
Just do a full wipe and flash whatever ROM you want. I don't think it matters if you're coming from ICS.

that's right, but make sure the modem flashes as well.
You could just restore the nandroid backup, which you saved right before you flashed...

All modems that work with this device are interoperable. I'm still on UCKH7 with ICS.
Just restore your nandroid, that's all.

Like the others said, if you don't have a nandroid backup, just do a full wipe & flash unnamed. I'm pretty sure it will flash the modem that unnamed comes with, but you wouldn't have to worry about modems anyway.

It is Extremely stable. Why not just download it, use Odin to put it on your Note, then use Odin to Root your Note? That is what I did and things work fine. Just be sure to save anything you would like to keep because it will be gone afterwards. It is recommended to remove the memory card but it didn't delete anything off mine.

Sorry I wasn't following that part of the situation. I would say either look up on Google for a way to do it, or use someone else's computer. I live in Ohio haha you could use mine if you were not far from Ashtabula lmao
The safest and most stable way is to download the .exe on the computer and run it. Download the cwm .tar file. Then use odin to run the .tar file to get cwm. Download the superuser .zip file and drag it into your microSD card. Then get in to recovery and do a backup to see if it works. If so, from recovery menu, flash the superuser .zip file from your microSD. Bam, ICS UCLE2 stock rooted. Remove bloat and get Apex launcher and its smoot sailing and stable.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
I'm just surprised nobody has made a cwm version yet. Ever other leak had one.

Thanks but way too customized. However FJ mentioned that the base in the third post of his thread is basically stock so I'm trying to download now but it keeps crashing.
What makes you think they're way to customized? Just flash his 1st release without the fj mod.

Have you read the feature list? Hell one of them has the SGS3 launcher and apps instead of the ones from the Note.
I'm downloading the one from the third post which is what I think you're talking about.
Lol. I think that's the only one rom. Apex launcher is by default, but you can use the stock touchwiz. Its as close as you're gonna get if you want a cwm zip. Can't hurt to try it out. Just make a backup of your stock rom and give it a try. You won't regret it. Any ics rom blows gb out of the water. If you don't like it, you can be back to stock in 10 minutes.
Sent from Galaxy Note
Well I flashed it but it's missing Touchwiz Launcher which I actually wanted since I like it's widgets. Sigh. Time to borrow a friend's computer and get the ODIN leak.
You have to either flash it seperately or use tools in settings to install it. Tools are there only if you flashed the latest rom or flashed fj mod. If you flashed the 1st le2 rom then just flash the fj mod. It doesn't change anything. It just gives you the ability to add a few things....including touchwiz.

does this leak fix all the bugs that exist in all the ics roms ive tried? im still on gingerbread (seraphim) because of that. since the word leak and not official, or ota, is part of the equation, im tending towards the latter

Yes it does or at least it doesn't have any. Also, I was a big touchwiz fan on gb and I have to say, apex is my launcher of choice on ics.

[Q] How to deodex?

Well, I'm on rooted stock, and I want to be able to install the original task switcher instead of using the HTC one as well as other things that involve being deodexed. So my question is how do I deodex? Is it easier for me to just go ahead and install a stock, deodexed ROM or is there a flashable zip that does it for me?
I'm not sure where to go from here on this since I was using a Galaxy Nexus and didn't have to really worry about this stuff since I could just easily flash a package or get a new ROM without having to worry about really anything at all.
Thanks!
Anything?

Thanks for that, but the thing is, I currently can't backup/restore everything. I was just wondering if there's a flashable zip to take care of it.
Say I do flash that ROM over top of my current stock rooted ROM, what will happen? Anything dreadful?
