wifi tether without tether plan on Sprint - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way of enable tethering on the Galaxy S2 without paying for a plan through Sprint? On the iPhone a friend uses MyWi, I have a thrill that I was able to edit a setting with Anycut, a friend has a galaxy s2 on sprint and it would be nice to get him setup with wifi tethering. Any ideas would be great.

Also had this question, except with at&t rather. If i can do this without having to download CM or some other rom, ill probably upgrade to the s ii as soon as my contract is up.

[Q] Is wifi calling possible on Unlocked At&T with T-Mobile

Guys, running a T-Mobile Galaxy SII and find the wifi calling a great thing. I'm on the $30 unlimited data and text and 100 minutes of call. Fallen in lust with a Note. Wife has international version but limited to 2G on T-Mobile. I'm thinking of an AT&T unlocked and T-Mobile radio. For anyone who has gone down that route, can they say if wifi calling is available?
Thanks

Can a Verizon prepaid smartphone sim card be used with a Verizon Galaxy Tab for data?

Hi, I have a Galaxy Tab 7.7 by Verizon and I'm thinking about buying a Verizon prepaid smartphone + plan for 60 dollars a month but what I want to know is will I be able to take my sim card out of my smart phone and use it in my Galaxy tab for data use only so I that I can surf the internet?
Will a Verizon prepaid smartphone sim card work on a Verizon Galaxy Tab for data use?
has anyone ever tried using a Verizon prepaid smartphone simcard with a Verizon Galaxy tab for internet use? will this method work? ....
I understand that the text feature and anytime minutes want work on the galaxy tab. I just want to use the prepaid simcard from my verizon smarphone with the Galaxy Tab so I wont have to pay phone a phone and a data plan for a tablet monthly.
I tried chatting with 2 Verizon reps but I was never give a clear answer. One would say I will need to buy both. SMH... and the other would say no and tried to get me to buy a mifi jetpack and smartphone.... I don't know if there trying to hide the fact that his can be done because of apps that would come in handy with this method like GoogleVoice, Gtalk etc.

If your smartphone runs Android, then you can buy the data plan and activate the hotspot tethering on the phone and with the WiFi activated on the tablet, you can surf the net with the tablet through the data plan in your smartphone.
I do the same between my Grand duos, Nokia E7 and Galaxy Tab P7500, my laptop and whoever I chose to give access up to 10 devices. All the devices are fed through the data plan in my P7500.
Cheers.

[Q] Tethering with T-Mobile Stock Rom?

Hey guys. I'm in Canada now but I'm coming to the USA soon. I put the T-Mobile Stock roms on my Samsung Galaxy SII in preparation for the trip. Everything is working fine and I'm looking forward to using WiFi Calling when I get to the USA.
Meanwhile I'm up in Canada and I have service with Koodo.
When I put the T-Mobile roms on my phone I suddenly lost my Koodo WiFi tethering. Grrrr! Something in the T-Mobile ROMS disables all WiFi tethering.
Anyway just wondering... is there a work-around for this issue? I got it working with USB tethering and PDANet (which I bought a million years ago). But I miss my true WiFi tethering - especially since it's included in my Koodo plan!
Any suggestions?

Tethering with cricket.

Is there any workaround for using wifi tether? I have cricket and when I try to tether it tries to authenticate through at&t authentication garbage. This phone was given to me for free and I love it besides not being able to change the ROM. It's alright but not being able to tether really sucks.
It happen the same for me, I bought it contract free to use it in my country and with all of these blocks of ATT I can't use a lot of features
I have off topic question will att g5 unlocked work on sprint or verizon

What s6 should I buy for Metropcs?

I bought a [email protected] s6 sm-g920a but I can't root it and some feature don't work on my network. Can someone recommend the right phone? Should I get T-mobile?
Yes, the T-Mobile or official Metro one. Probably a lot easier to get the T-Mobile one, but I don't think the wifi calling and/or tethering would work, if you need those features. You should be able to fix the tethering with root though.
