Dropbox would work much more efficiently.

the fastest way is phone to pc and then to the tab

Actually, if you already have dropbox ready, dropbox would be faster. (Unless you have hundreds of files that need transfering...then PC would indeed be faster)

And if you don't have dropbox, use this link: http://db.tt/AOU094v to sign up!

Showing sgs2 screen on pc?

Hi all just wondering if anyone knows if it is at all possible to show my galaxy s2 screen on my pc if that makes sense.
I do app reviews and would be great to be able to show it on a bigger screen.
Yes, check this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2oZkKYtTYM
You should get info there
Thanks for this thread, I was looking for a similar thing to show photos and videos on my TV and didn't know you could use an HDMI cable with the SGS2. You learn something new every day...
Great that looks perfect. Thanks!

Not sure why you would find this useful considering the chances of your PC having HDMI input is around zero.

[Q] Samsung Note 2

So hello, I would like to ask a few questions about Note 2.
1. I have GT-N7000, what is the difference between this one and just Note 2?
2. How can I upgrade my android? Right now I have 4.0.4, which came by default.

There is a HUGE difference between the 2 devices. Obviously the original Note, the one you have, is running on ICS, while the Note 2 has 4.1 Jellybean. Note 2 has significantly better hardware as well. Quad core and 2 GB of RAM, as opposed to Dual core and 1 GB RAM. Also, Note 1 has PenTile Matrix, while Note 2 has RGB Matrix. Note 2 is also 0.2" bigger. There are a bunch of other differences such as SPen improvements and different Touchwiz UIs, so I wont continue. The official update is coming, according to GSMarena, so just wait. That or root your device and flash a custom ROM on it. Search on Google or XDA on how to do so. If you want more info on Note 2, here it is: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_ii_n7100-4854.php
PS. Instead of asking this, you could have found your answers on Youtube and Google.

umm. tb is terabyte. That would not be possible to fit on a smartphone. I think you mean mb? Even 30 gb of stuff is a bit of a stretch. And what do you mean that you're trying to add to your phone? Music? When I add files, such as roms, kernels, music, photos, etc, I just open Computer, and find the removable disk and then drag and drop into the sd card. Dunno why you're using Kies... Anyway, Im not exactly sure what you're trying to say here.

Oh and also, if you dont have drivers installed/updated, it might not recognize.

What is the easiest way to store everything that was on my galaxy i777 to my computer for future use and the biggest thing GAME SAVES!. I have like 15 hours clocked in Final Fantasy Dimensions and alot of grinding went on. So im desperate to back it up. Pictures, text messages, game saves EVERYTHING. Any help would be hugely appreciated! Thanks!

Ummm! OK! Data (pictures, musics, etc...) I understand you can save and move it over to iPhone 4S. But how are you going to save the game data and play the game from Android to iPhone? Titanium Backup would be great if you are going from one android phone to the other. Does iPhone even have Final Fantasy Dimensions game in their Apps store? Just wondering. Is the game data saved locally on your phone or on the server (meaning you'll have to sign-in to play)?

you realize you cant just copy that data over to iphone and expect it to work, right?
hell, i would love to see you copy it over to the iphone, period. you know, with its lack of filesystem accessible to human beings.
Took me 2 sec to do a google search. This might help you along the way in migrating to iPhone.

Lol i think im letting my love of the original 4(Brought when released) get the best of me. But I dont see many options for android when it comes to high end devices thats LTE compatable(What I want in a android phone) at the price range of 300 bucks(On craigslist/ebay). The best phones seem to be the Galaxy s3,HTC One X or the iphone 5. I dont want the One X because of lack of external memory, the s3 everyone has -_-...want to be a little unique and well I was looking at the Sony TL and the battery life doesnt seem to have any praise.

opts for an iphone.

ROFLOL... @ STravers - unique? I don't think so. iPhone is the trends (fads), that is not being unique. You might as well waited for the SIV. Supposedly coming in a few months ahead. It got the whissles and bells, and supposedly virtual keyboard that comes with the docking station. Now (to me) that is unique.

This is EXACTLY why I came here today... Korean news, for my dad on the Nook we're getting him for Father's Day.
Weird.
I figure getting Flash Player to work is how I'll figure it out. KBS has live streaming via Flash.

This is actually a great idea for my parents as well. However, do you happen to know how to get past the geographic restrictions on the k.kbs.co.kr website? Even when I browse to it on my laptop it says streaming isn't available for users in the US.
Im going to have to check this out.
Thanks for letting me know.

[Q] What works without a phone? I just want to run!

I'm interested in using the Gear S for running. It has everything I use in a single device: GPS, mp3 player and heart rate monitor. In theory, I could you my Nike+ account and just be happy with it. But I don't have a Samsung phone...
I believe everything I need comes already installed in the Gear S, so I wanted to turn it on and go for a run!
Am I being to naive to think this would work without a Samsung phone?
Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't bet on doing that. You're going to need a Samsung phone or some knowledge on how to install Gear Manager on your non-Samsung phone.

Without gear manager nothing works. It has to be setup using gear manager. If you know someone with a Samsung phone that is compatible with gear s you could get it going but it's complicated. I have a note 3 but like my Nokia 1520 phone. I am struggling trying to get it to work the way I want it to with the Nokia. So needless to say I'm using my Note 3 at the moment because I like the gear s so much.

Right it's like buying an Ipad(at least the old ones) where at least once you need to install itunes and connect to a PC.
You need Gear manager at least to start. Then you need it if you want to install anything new.

A poster said he has an iphone when he bought the Gear S a sales employee paired it with a samsung demo phone in store and his stuff works for now until he needs an update then he's screwed
I bought 2, one for my wife and one for me.
I have a SGS5 and she had a Nexus 5. I figured I could set up both watches with my phone... the problem is when switching devices it FACTORY RESETS every time. So 1 watch per phone
I ended up buying her a Galaxy Avant as well as it was the cheapest way I could find for her to run her watch.
Kinda lame but she's happy so m'eh.
I love do the watch btw, it's perfect for my needs (ymmv).

no thanks, well the weather app wasn't working and the news briefing didn't work as well.
I have an old samsung S3 which I used to pair the phone with. I bought a one plus one but in the end it just doesn't work with the one plus one.
There is a way also to be found here on the dxa forum to pass by a samsung and download the gear on any other android phone but this doesn't work a 100% either.
It's a bitc**** but in the end to get the most out of the watch is to do it with a samsung mobile which runs 4.3 and up.
I'm planning to build a site only with info for the Gear -S it's called www . gear-s.info and I hope to gather info of all the different places to get one proper library with info over the gear.
The phone looks great and has a real big X factor but there are still some downsides as well to it. One big issue is that it runs on Tizen and in a smartwatch world with all but the Gear's running on androidware it makes the development of apps for the Gears not a big priority with people.
Another thing I can not understand is that Samsung undermining their own sales by having the Gears only work with Samsung. Sales could triple if you would be able to run the gear manager on any other android machine.
I find Samsung getting more and more like Apple, at one point you need to buy everything from Samsung to communicate between the different mobile devices.
The problem is that they do really make nice things but it would make live a lot easier if they op the market to other mobile IOS and brands.
I do love the people on the XDA forums, the way they discover things and help people, their patience yep, they are great.
I'm going to try to find a way to get whatsapp on the gear S.
Good luck
Hans
