Hi,
this is a development & collection Thread. The PH85IMG.ZIP files can be flashed through SD-CARD in HBoot Mode. This works only for S-OFF users. If you don't have S-OFF you cannot use the files. There is no way to get S-OFF on a normal S-ON phone now.
If you want to help, check if you have S-ON or S-OFF. Turn off the phone, reboot with the volume button held down, and check at the top of the white screen if it says "SHIP S-ON", "SHIP S-OFF" or "ENG S-OFF". S-ON is stock and not helpful, SHIP S-OFF could be useful, the really helpful ones are ENG S-OFF. Please don't post asking if you can help if you have S-ON.
HOW TO DUMP YOUR HBOOT (please remember this is only interesting if you already have S-OFF)
1. Download ADB: http://www.mediafire.com/?5d0v316g9bg97
2. Extract the contents of the zip to C:\
3. Run the commands below:
Code:
cd c:\adb
adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p12 of=/sdcard/hboot.img
Note: If your device is not detected, download and install HTC Sync.
4. Connect your phone in USB Mode, copy the hboot.img file from your SD card and upload it to Multiupload.
How To Flash Eng Hboot:
1. Comming soon

that would be more of a sim unlock feature, u would prob need to wait for a mod to unlock the sim, but it would be easier to call tmobile and get a code, or maybe even buying a code online.. that is if the code has been released from HTC yet.

I was able to get an unlock code for mine two weeks ago so I would think most if not all unlock codes would be available now.

i have the same problem. i hold the volume down key and turn it on, then it boots like normal.
Power off is "quick"boot. You want to restart. And hold volume down.

I entered my IMEI and the site said it is unavailable. Did you use these guys for your Amaze or some other phone? I bought the phone outright (no contract) suppose T-Mo might be able to give me the code? Maybe it would still be unavailable to them as well if HTC hasn't released it yet.
I have an amaze however is actually a store demo model but if you've been with t-mobile for 90 days you should be able to get a free unlock code.

This is a tutorial on how to Unlock the bootloader of xperia devices.
First of all: This will void your warranty and only necessary to install custom kernels or custom roms. If someone told you to unlock the bootloader for rooting, you needn't do that. Just check out my rooting guide here. So let's go on - and - read everything carefully!!!!
I accept no responsibility for any damage of your phone or pc! You do all this on your own risk!
It will void your warranty and you will loose DRM, so you can't use trackid anymore. You mustn't do updates over the air, otherwise your phone will brick!!! You won't be able to update phone via pc companion or sony update service anymore, you will have to flash the rom via flashtool!
Unlocking the bootloader will wipe your /data partition. So please save your personal data before unlocking!
First you check, if your bootloader is unlockable. For that you have to be on stock sony rom. You type: *#*#7378423#*#*
Now you are in the service menu. Go to "Service info" -> Configuration and look at the bootloader status.
If Rooting Status -> Bootloader unlock allowed: yes, you can go on

1. Manually like on sony's homepage
2. Automatic with the SE Bootloader Unlocking Tool by quangnhut123
3. Testpoint Method
1. Manually
For this you need the following tools/files/etc:
- Android SDK from here
- Modified android_winusb.inf-file from here
- Fastboot.exe (Just search for it on google for example)
So let's start:
Go here and click yes. After that type in your IMEI. Go to your phone and type *#06#* and you will see your IMEI. Now go back to your browser, type in your Name, Email-adress and your IMEI and click submit.
LEAVE THE WINODW OPEN, IT WILL PROMPT YOUR UNLOCK CODE. Write it down on a piece of paper and lets go on.
Now we will set up android sdk. You install it to the directory you want and start it.
Check your Android Version, the Tools, and from extras the google usb driver and install them.
Now you go to the installation folder and open tools
and paste the fastboot.exe there:
Now you go back to the installation folder and open extras > google. There you paste the modified android_winusb.inf
Now we have everything set up and can go on the phone :good:
Turn off your phone and hold the unlock button (usually the volume up button) and connect to pc. The blue led will light up.
Go on the pc and your pc will ask you for drivers. Point to the android_winusb.inf-file and your phone will be recognized. If not, download flashtool from here and install it. You go to the installation folder and open drivers and install all the drivers provided.
Now we open a command window from windows and go to the installation folder of the android sdk. Then we go in the tools folder. Use the following commands to navigate:
cd .. = one folder up
cd foldername = open folder
dir = show content of the folder
And we can see the fastboot.exe in the tools folder:
Now the unlock process begins, make sure the phone is charged (over 20% is a must have, better fully)
We type in the command window:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
and if we get a value like 0.3 the phone is connected and responsing.
The next step unlocks the bootloader
To unlock your bootloader now enter the following code:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY
Watch Out: You have to change KEY to the key you got earlier!
If everything goes well, you have an unlocked bootloader now! Congratulations
Now we are able to flash a custom kernel/rom, so check this out to know how to install the new kernel/rom
This tutorial is based on the tutorial from sony. I don't own any files and if sony doesn't like me to do this tutorial, please let me know and I will delete this topic!
2. Automatically with the SE Bootloader Unlocking Tool by quangnhut123
For that you go to this thread and hit thanks. After that download the tool.
Remember, unlocking the bootloader will void warranty! After unlocking bootloader, never try to update ota (=over the air)! PC Companion and SEUS won't recognize your phone after the following steps!
Make sure your pc is connected to the internet, to get the unlock code from sony website. You will lose DRM like in the other tutorial!
If you want to unlock now, follow these steps:
1. Extract "SE Bootloader_Unlocking_Relocking_1.6.rar" and you'll find out "Flashtool-drivers.exe", run it to install. Check all drivers/phones, just to be sure all drivers are installed
2. Go to phone an input on the dial pad *#06#* to promt your IMEI.
3. Open the unlocking tool and in the first text field input the first 14 digits of your IMEI.
4. Press the Get Unlock Code button. Your unlock code will automatically appear in the Unlock Code Box.
5. Now turn off the phone, hold Volume Up and while pressing it you connect the USB cable to the computer. The blue led should appear, which means you are in fastboot mode to unlock bootloader.
6. Click the Unlock BL button. The program will automatically unlock your bootloader!
Click to collapse
That's it, this is easier for newbie's, but remeber, it voids warranty! And do it on your own risk!
3. Testpoint method
If you don't want to void your warranty (okay you do, but you can relock your bootloader and with some luck sony won't notice it's been opened, so you still have your warranty ) you can use the testpoint method.
You have to mess around with the hardware. This sounds strange, right?
But it isn't even hard. Just read this great tutorial by DragonClawsAreSharp!
But note: This method will only work if your device was produced before building number 12w11 (as far as I know). You can check this number on the sticker under the battery
If you want to install a custom rom/kernel now, just go here for a guide
Thanks!!
Thanks!! Thumbs up!!
Nice guide for the newbie, deserved thumbs up from me

If bootloader unlock allowed:no you can't unlock it like this. Maybe you have a netlock or simlock?
Then you can just unlock using a paid method, for example wotan server, but that's more complicated and I can't promise that it works, because fastboot is disabled then

There aren't so many, look in development section there's a thread with all roms listed. Open some roms and you will see on their thread if they are for locked bootloader
For example on ics there is MiniCMSandwich or Realics lite and some MIUI roms. There sould be roms for gingerbread, too, just look in development please :good:

Yes this means you can't, but have you got a simlock? Cause if yes you must unlock the simlock (for example with wotan server which costs some money or maybe your provider could do it) and with much luck you can unlock after that. :good:
Try first if you can go in fastboot mode, so set everything up, android-sdk and all the drivers, the winusb file etc, and connect your phone when it's off with pressed volume up key to pc. If the blue led lights up, you should be able to unlock the simlock and after that you could unlock the bootloader.
But I'm not sure, some people told us, that the unlocking of the simlock doesn't change anything for them...
Hope the day will come that for new phones like my ST15i can unlock without loosing DRM

I don't think there'll be a way, but for what do you need DRM? You don't loose features...

So you type
Code:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY
and nothing happens (of course you replace KEY with your unlock code)? Have you set everything up and phone is already plugged in the computer (and it's in fastboot mode)?
What a value do you get if you type
Code:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
?
Maybe your bootloader is already unlocked. Please just start flashtool (if you haven't got it yet download it from development section) and if it has started connect phone in fastboot mode (shut down, hold volume up, connect to pc). Please post the log here (Please as a code!)
My phone wont turn on!!!!Ray
Ok, I flashed the fxp145 kernel and unlocked the kernel. It did boot into cam but it gave me an error saying sector 7 so I gave it another shot after removing the battery, but that didnt happen,it didnt boot up and neither is it showing charger status on led. But, there is warmth on the battery. i charged the battery for five hours straight, and now it blinks red when i push the powre button, but it wont still wont turn on. Is there anything i can do?

Now download this zip file and extract it anywhere in your pc/laptop
Switch off your xperia device
Hold the menu button and connect the usb cable to your pc/laptop
You will see blue light instead of red ,green etc
Blue light means your phone is in fastboot mode.
Now open the folder which you have extracted before from the download zip file

FYI, my phone isn't rooted. Although I did try in the past, I've used one click root (Didn't work) and the SUPER TOOL from Kwongger (Also didnt work for me). So I relocked the boot loader, couple of weeks its fine, just after updating to kitkat yesterday when it started happening.
Since its not rooted, I believe that's one of the reasons its not letting me flash a ROM or recovery. It's just saying device not found when using Squabbis kit.
I really need help, please.
Ok, You may follow these steps if your phone is an international version cause the rom in this post is for international version only. You may search the forum for a rom fitting your phone if it is not the international one but the procedures remain the same... ( Please note that my phone was not rooted too).
First of all
Last time I was facing the same problem. A special Thank to Pradeepvizz for his help.
So to install recovery, You need to unlock your bootloader AGAIN cause I also relocked my bootloader and getting the TAMPERED RELOCKED AND S ON. My phone freeze at boot on the HTC Screen.
1. Re - unlock your bootloader using the same unlock.bin file,( fyi, i've done it by htcdev.com), I think your adb and fastboot drivers working fine if you've been able to unlock before.
2. I follow the procedures of punk9 from - One Max Android Development > [Guide] S-OFF / Root.Your HTC One Max. to know how to install a recovery software using cmd prompt.
3. I've used TWRP as recovery (DON'T USE CWM, i'VE GOT MANY ISSUES WITH,and i was not the only one to get issues) downloaded from - One Max Original Android Development > [RECOVERY] TWRP 2.6.3.0 touch recovery posted by Flyhalf205.
4. I've downloaded and install a clean stock rom already rooted with original kernel which i downloaded from One Max Android Development > [ROM] HTC One MAX Stock ROM | ROOT | INTERNATIONAL | DEODEXED |1.54.401.1 posted by pradeepvizz.
5. After the rom successfully installed, reboot, (btw, it took more than 5mins to boot the first time for me, so if you find that it is screw at HTC Screen, be patient...)
After configuration (language setup, wifi connection, google account and so on), I've S-OFF my phone using firewater. PLEASE make sure your phone is connected to internet during the process. I've follow these step to S-OFF my phone: One Max General > Firewater S-OFF posted by pradeepvizz.
After, these procedures I've noticed, when booting in fastboot mode, that the TAMPERED STAMP and S-ON disappeared and change to UNLOCKED and S-OFF.
When I switch my phone on, I get the Red message (watermark) about the disclaimer and you may remove it by following this guide( I did not do it cause the red watermark does not matter to me) : One Max Android Development > ★ ☆ [MOD] Remove Red Text on Splash screen | hboot | Vzw/Spr/Int | 11-30-13 | ☆ ★ posted by santod040..
Althought I've unlocked my bootloader via htcdev, I've noticed that fingerprint sensor working fine but anyway you may search the forum to get the solution for this issue.
Hope It helps.

Super thanks for taking your time to reply to my post. I tried following this but it's not working. Only thing I can think of is because I was able to do a factory reset, so Im guessing maybe the usb debugging is/was disabled so its saying here that "Device not found". I cant unlock my bootloader anymore

You don't need USB debugging to unlock, make sure your phone shows fastboot USB mode and that should be shown on the phone. You probably are in HBOOT and that is why it says device not found.

I'm guessing a problem about your cable or your connection, or adb drivers. Are all the items needed in same folder? in directory c:/ ?? Adb, fastboot drivers and unlock.bin should be in same folder. No need to enable usb debugging when unlocking. it will take place only when flashing the rom or recovery. Did you follow the procedures from htcdev??
I did not give the procedures of unlocking bootloader as htcdev procedures are clear. check your connection, re install adb and fast boot drivers. use another usb port on your pc.
It must work.
I am curious to know how you are trying to install KitKat on a Sprint One Max as HTC has not yet released the update? If you are trying to use the release for the HTC One, that may be your problem. Rooting is fairly simple using HTCDev to unlock the bootloader, Use TWRP 2.6... and SuperSU 1.91. If you will need to be able to install a custom rom (none of which are available for Sprint yet), you will ultimately want S-Off. For this you will need to use the rumrunner tool as your One Max is using Hboot 2.46. Once you're S-Off you will be able to remove your tampered flag and re-lock which will once again enable your fingerprint scanner.
FYI if you were forced to factory reset, you will need to re-enable adb bugging in settings - developer options, AND disable fast boot in settings - power. Then start over from scratch.

It's good to see "CONFIDENCE". Makes people try harder and more careful to follow instructions.
It's not confidence, it's based on some experince

Are you able to reboot into recovery mode via TWRP ?
Apparently VIVO phones are the black horses of the hacking community because they are near impossible to root!
Also I'm new, I hope I'm posting in the right thread.
Now onto the details, I've been trying to root my phone lately and so far absolutely nothing is working at all! I've not seen anyone whatsoever on XDA to root this specific phone. Mostly V3 and Xshot series
I've tried every single rooting app there is, but I noticed that my efforts are worthless because my phone has an impenetrable bootloader! Of course I immediately head to the internet and found about ADB and Fastboot. Now I've been trying to confirm my suspicions about a locked bootloader by using the "device-info" command on ADB, then I get
Code:
<bootloader> unlock:false
.
Now since I was trying to unlock the bootloader and to this day I absolutely CANNOT bust through it. Whenever I use the "oem-unlock" command, it will always say "FAIL: check device or oem lock"
I forgot most of the commands I used on ADB, (first time using it, actually :silly: ) but the commands I used were normally the ones used to unlock a phone's bootloader.
Going to their forums, they always say that they do not allow their users to tamper with their devices and I was this close to giving up, but after going to the phone's recovery mode, I immediately see at the bottom "The Phone: not root" (yes that's what it exactly says, that's not my grammar) which means that it SHOULD be possible to root it in the first place, and because of that I have not stopped trying.
However every last method I tried failed and I am desperate enough to come here, to XDA forums where I learned to root my now 6+ year old Samsung Galaxy Y.
I really need your help, guys.

It offered to boot as flashed...if you tapped power, I suppose.
Would it just loop into the notice, and not boot the TWRP recovery if you pressed a hardware key (power, say?) Good effort, keep freeing the MSM8974!

Got Zui Unlock File have tried not translating site both IMEIS all sorts of other random BS
I get this error. USB debugging enabled and OEM unlock on in Devolper settings. Im trying to flash GLOBAL from to Chinese version as my mobile data doesn't work as phone auto popluates with wrong APN settings and I cant change them. It popluates with HOT spot APN settings and the data will work if I send it to another phone so I know it should be possible to get it to work if I can get the right settings in there. Was hoping global from would fix it but I cant flash to global as I get incompatible hardware message likely due to the BOOT loader being locked still.

how do i do that
theres the bootloader mode and the fastboot mode. to get into fastboot mode on phone I have to put into recovery mode press power button and volume button up and then I can actually get the phone to be detected in fastboot and have the commands work
EDIT I AM IN FASTBOOTD it says it at the top. thats when i got that error i previousy screenshotted
I can take pictures if not familliar with the specific model.. first person gets 100$ in crypto or fiat via Paypal IDC Im desperate it hasn't been working for months and my other phone I've been hotspotting to it got cracked and is quite old so its either buy an entirely new phone or get this one working fully

If you haven't connected it to the USB under the volume button, connect it to the USB under the volume button.
If you are using another USB, it may fail.
If I don't use the side port it won't even show up in fastboot. As for the file and the folder if it is not in the right folder I get a different error. I navigate to the drive then run the command but the phone tells me it is locked so it seems like a catch 22 situation

Have you registered the wrong value for IMEI1?
Click on the link in this tutorial, this link is the best, put your first (top) IMEI number and the correct serial number. People are confusing serial number with the 2nd IMEI number or with something else, I put the wrong one first time but second time got it right. Follow the instructions in this tutorial its the best tutorial. Use the side port not the bottom. I'm enjoying a fully updated, bootloader unlocked and rooted Legion duel 2, its super fast after rooting cos I have gotten rid of all google and lenovo junk, only kept whatI need. All the best guys.

First, have you tried removing a lock on the phone altogether (by setting it to none or swipe and deleting fingerprint)? Second, try running fastboot from /Android/platform-tools/ . Third, when you plug the phone into the bottom port and it is not recognized, go to device manager and look for an exclamation that should state something like fastboot device, right click select properties, select driver update, select browse my computer for driver, select let me pick, scroll down to near bottom and select USB device, there should be a list of three choose winadb (might be winusb). Last, try running the fastboot command from an admin privileged command prompt (right click command prompt, run as admin). These suggestions should lead you to a solution for unlocking the device. I'd appreciate your "offer"; post back results.
