just wondering if there's any way to have xloud installed without removing the slick transparent/blue power control widget. i can live without xloud but i'd like to have both things.

Yep, it's not certified for our X10, we have very poor hardware for our phones, and this update should've been for the 2011 range of phones, not for our X10's
Though we still need to appreciate the time and effort taken by 28spawn and others in making this port

Hello everybody..
After Bravia Engine now we also have the new xLoud engine available to 2.3.3!
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
To test just do this.
Play any song, without xLoud engine active and when playing turns xLoud engine ON, you will hear the difference!
Installation: flash the package via xrecovery
Download V2
http://www.multiupload.com/091CTY7NDW
After installing manually fix the permissions by xrecovery!
old version v1http://www.multiupload.com/Q1SW45B020
Know issues - Volume configuration on alarm FC.
Little UI bug on Settings.apk on running processes.
For all about the power control widget.
This widget is not suported by Arc, to use the xLoud engine we use Arc "parts" so this is not suported.
Thanks for marcoplo and my immortal for finding the files.

Will it remove the Widget "Power Management"?
I think xLoud and Bravia Engine needs to be flashed at the same time to prevent conflicts.

Hi everyone, this is a very simple list/howto of all known Arc-ported features onto the X10 as of 4th August.
Right now the list is not big but the features are, which include
100% working Bravia engine
75% working xLoud (FCs occur when changing brightness/volume and power control widget stops working, but in active developement and should be fixed soon)
100% new 2011 Xperia launcher, it's smoother, faster, and a few nice new features
95% working DLNA widget (A few streaming problems)
Screw SE for leaving these features out, when it works almost perfectly on our devices.
Here's where to get the files and how to install them. Although all of the features are safe and shouldn't explode your X10, always remember to back things up in case something gets screwed.
1. Mobile BRAVIA Engine (Thanks Z)
WHAT IT DOES:Enhances picture and video quality ONLY in stock gallery and video app, it won't change the picture quality of the photo itself, just when it's on the x10 screen.
LINK:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193274
INSTALL:Just flash thru xrecovery. BUT, Some custom ROMs like Wolfbreak's and Erickwill's already have those installed, check your ROM developer to see if they have it, don't install this if they have it already! It'll erase some tweaks and settings!

2.xLOUD (Thanks 28spawn and Marcoplo)
WHAT IT DOES:Changes the output of your phone speaker, makes it louder and crisper, and apparently it makes a huge difference.
LINK:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201729
INSTALL:Flash thru xRecovery. Please NOTE: There are a few FCs that occur due to this, like when you change brightness settings through the display option in the settings, as well as the volume sliders in the settings menu. Volume changing works perfectly through the physical rockers, and brightness works fine using another widget, but power control widget doesn't work as well. This is in active developement and should be sorted out and fixed soon.

3.2011 Xperia Launcher (Thanks candyman)
WHAT IT DOES:It's the same launcher as before but faster, smoother, and has a few new features like direct app uninstall through the drawer and support for themes.
LINK:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194540
INSTALLownload APk and install over current home launcher.

Click to collapse
4.Sony DLNA App (Thanks llama69)
WHAT IT DOES:Allows streaming of music/videos to computer, there seems to be problems doing it vice versa (computer to x10) but x10 to computer works fine.
INSTALLownload APK, Install, done!

I will update this as I am sure we will get more goodies . The devs are just too great! It sickens me that SE purposely left out these features, but it's to be expected since if it did, it could seriously hurt Arc/other xperia sales, since the X10 is still a very capable device.
Have fun!
Hey guys...i recently installed the xLOUD option on my x10 than i found my power control widget has gone....can anyone help me with the apk and post it for me please.....thank you....

Hello guys.
I've got the same problem.
I lost my 4x1 stock power control widget (the one with brightness ctrl) since i have install the damned Xloud.
And i realise i can't put another widget where it was in the past( grey area ).
Where can we download it ?
I also realise i don't have auto brigthness. Is that normale ?
Thanks
I miss the power widget from 2.2.1 ROM
Yeah i miss my power control widget too
Is there a way to get rid of xLoud so i can get the power control widget again?
I was on original S.E. 2.3.3 gingerbread...
I've also rooted it.....
Even more so.. The place where i used to have the power control widget on my homepage.. I can't put anything there now.. and I can't remove it either.... Like If i long press on the place where the power control widget used to be... It says 'Add to Home Screen' but i can't put anything there nor can i put any apps/games on where the old power control widget used to be?
Im on Ericks 2.3.3 ROM so I don't have xloud or know if xloud removes the power control widget.
You could try this and see if it works, if it doesnt maybe try to get rid of xloud and install it.
Just save it to sd card, find it with explorer and launch it, then restart your phone...
It's pretty cool, transparent aswell
Hi.
Unfortunatly i can't install your settings.apk even if i use root explorer or Flashtool
Maybe you can make a settings.zip, So i can install it with xrecovery.
Thanks for your help.
I've also a X10i with 2.3.3 Rom...

I found in another forum a couple of files which allow us to add MegaBass, one of the most beloved features of Sony Ericsson's W(alkman) phone series. I bundled them in an update.zip to be flashed with Clockwork Mod, and given that they work in all Xperia phones, I've decided to spread them around
I hope it's useful!
MegaBass Installer
MegaBass Uninstaller
*Note* I didn't make these files nor am I savvy enough to discuss their effect. They've been tested in most models with success, though, so again, I distribute them in the hope that they can be useful.
So moving out of Developer section
Thank you, it works fine.
does it work on cyanogenmod?
Yes, it does. It works on both stock and custom roms.
so if you flash this you get a stronger bass?
but is that good for your speaker?
thank you great work!!!!

So can anyone comment on the sound effect after installing..I am really skeptical, if this could actually bring in any changes..
is it different from XLoud? What happen when we used XLoud and this tweak together at full volume?
I notice it has deep bass that unclear before this. Try change your preset to 'rock'. It ROCKS!
Can i use this in my stock neo v? and how to install? Thanks!
Add to this thread ASAP

It actually sounds worse in the stock headset.
I installed it on my phone...but how does it work? Does it take effect immediately? Or does it have a toggle like the xloud?

Restart your phone, and it should work after that.
Works on ICS
It works on SE Xperia Neo Android 4.0.4 ( 4.1.B.0.431 ) + Inteks@core #1
Do I need to Flash Xperia S Music Player ( AKA Walkman) for this to work no my NEO 4.0.4?
I have added support for Xperia SP to U-Disco so I figured I will mention that in here too.
The original thread is over in the Xperia U forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970167
It will give you different light patterns in the illumination bar.
Some of them require music to work, other will light up anyway.
It only works on Xperia U, Xperia P or Xperia SP, and it also requires ROOT to get individual access to the LEDs.
Get the free version here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rundgong.udisco
The pro version has more colors and can run in the background. Otherwise they are the same.
Get the pro version here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rundgong.udiscopro
I have not tried it on SP myself but let me know if you find any bugs. I'll try to fix them.
Thanks to @DooMLoRD for describing the leds in another thread, and @sagar29 for testing it on SP
It works in my sp and it looks amazing thanks

Thanks, it works like a charm. I also try your other app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rundgong.illuminationcontrol) and it's work perfectly too. :highfive:
I made an update with tweaks to the leds on SP.
Hopefully it will make the lights a bit more smooth.
Let me know if you think it is better or worse.
Version 1.6 is out on google play now.

Hi, leds on SP are surely better supported now: the "preview" during choosing the color works now, and I guess it starts for example the strobe a bit faster (still over 1 second delay after setting the color).
Rainbow and others where we can't choose a color are running instantly.
Hi! Thanks for the great app. There's an issue though. Just copying my own review from Play Market:
Doesn't work in Walkman with headphones plugged in. If you plug out the headphones and then plug them in again, LEDs begin to flash until a song changes. Would be great if you could fix the bug. Best regards.

I have the latest firmware installed (254); no sound mods. Tried to soft/hard reset the phone also, but that hasn't changed anything. Discolight by Sagar Kar has no such issue (but seems a bit buggy in general, that's why I'd like this app to be fully-functional). Can anyone confirm the bug? Or that's me who's so «lucky»?

I don't see that behavior. But there will be strange effects if both the walkman app and this app writes to the LEDs at the same time.
There may be flickering and maybe odd colors as well. Otherwise I think it works.

OK, I got it. Today I had reinstalled FW from SUS with full wipes, then installed ES Explorer and U-Disco. As a last step I disabled "Music beat light effect". The general order of actions is following: 1. I launch U-Disco, choose a Coloured beat with any colour, and Speakers as an Audio source; 2. I launch Walkman and play any song – LEDs are flashing; 3. I stop the playback in Walkman and open any other song in ES Explorer – it works as well; 4. I stop the song and quit U-Disco, plug in headphones, then repeat the first step; 5. I launch Walkman and play any song – nothing happens; 6. I switch to ES Explorer and try my luck there – no success; 7. Then I return to Walkman, start playback and then plug the headphones out – LEDs still aren't flashing; 8. I simply switch to any other song inside Walkman and voila! Everything works as a charm again even after plugging the headphones back in! 9. But when I switch the song once more with the hp's inserted – LEDs flicker several times and die out. I've tried any possible variations, different headphones. Tried to reset the phone after installing and so on – nope.
What can be the reason of such a behaviour? Something is obviously not working as it should (quite possibly it's my phone) if you experience no such issue, but what? I would be endlessly thankful for any ideas or suggestions.

Good description. Now I can reproduce it also.
I have no idea why it behaves like that though. It's not like that on Xperia U.
It might be a bug in the audio framework, but I really don't know.
thx.. its work and awesome
Version 1.7 is out.
It adds some effects that use the camera flash instead of the illumination bar.
Using the camera flash does not require root, and it will also work on most other devices as well.
The new effects are are a flash strobe light and also lighting the flash according to the beat of the music.

It seems like the LEDS only work when music goes out throught internal speaker. When you have Headphones or bluetooth speaker connected, no LED will light up. With and Without U-disco
