Android 4.0 ICS Stuff (Fonts/Wallpapers/Ringtones/ClockWidget/Apps) - Wildfire Themes and Apps

So, I checked the Live Blog of today's event, and I loved the new fonts Google has designed for ICS, called Roboto. I just had to get it.
I grabbed the system dump, and here's a flashable Zip for the fonts. Tested on CM7, should work on all ROMs. (Sense not tested). Nandroid backup before flashing, just in case. (Update - Attached the Flashable Stock Font Pack as well. In case something goes wrong, or, you simply need the old fonts back)
Also managed to find the wallpapers and ringtones attaching them. (Not resized, but I believe you are upto it). Wallpapers is not a Flashable Zip. Just a simple zip with the images.
Fonts (Related Attachments - FontPack-Roboto_E2.zip, FontPack-STOCK.zip)
- The Clock Widget in the screenshots (This, and for the Wallpapers Actual Preview is Simi Clock Widget)

FAQ's:
Q: The font didn't apply? There are no changes?
A: Firstly, make sure the font genuinely has not applied. The difference is pretty subtle, so, it is possible to miss it. First, check the lockscreen clock font. if it has still not applied, you probably have to try an alternate method to install these. Here is a before/after pic for comparison between the fonts.
Comparison Case 1
Before | After
Comparison Case 2
Before | After
Q: The flashable Zip did not work
A: Firstly, in case your phone hangs / bootloops, try again. There are quite a few members for whom this zip worked in the 2nd attempt. Fortunately, there are a ton of other ways to install fonts. Assuming you did not get into a bootloop, you can try one of these methods:
- Font Changer App from the Market
- ADB
- Terminal Emulator
Q: What about Non-root GS1/ GS2 users?
A: You are going to have to create a Flipfont APK file for the same in that case. The method is posted here.
In case you just want the readymade APK, it is available here. (Check the complete thread before installing)

In one word, they are disappointing, but, they can be found here. (It is a flashable zip, created by lordmorphous at the Streak Forums. Just directly linking the file here)
In case you do not prefer a flashable zip for the Ringtones, the simple zip with the ringtones included can be found attached.

Applications
There are just 3 at the moment, and it seems the others won't be coming so soon. Of the three, two work well on the Wildfire. Dedicated threads for the ICS Apps can be seen below:

Nice! I hope we can get a ICS port started soon.

Nice 3xeno. I love them

How much does it take to boot up when you change the fonts? Mine is still on the bootanimation after 10 minutes.

Doesn't take longer than a normal reboot after flashing something. (Or at most, it's slightly longer than normal). Guess you are in a bootloop.

I had to revert to the old fonts. it seems that the roboto ones don't work in my case. Thanks anyway for the walls and sounds.

It's weird, I put up that attachment after personally testing it (As shown in the screenshots). I'll check again and revert. :/

Im so amaized by font that i had to post one again. Beautifull, it gaves all new look to the phone.

Totally agree mate, which is precisely what I have said in the 1st line of this thread. The moment I saw the slide at the event, I KNEW I had to get this font somehow.

I can't get it to start. Not even with the original fonts. And I forgot to do a backup first. Any suggestions?

Reflash ROM without a wipe. It should sort it.

Font looks smooth, although I will have to resize the fonts in nearly all my Widgets if I decide to keep it it flashed perfect, there's nothing wrong with the zip.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium

Anyone flashed it on the cyanogemod stable version 7.1.0.1? Until now looking at the user signatures, worked only on nightly builds.

I am on 7.1.0.1 Stable. (Sig is outdated. )
@ Scratch, surprisingly, this is the only font that has worked well for me, including the widgets, but, I get what you mean.

Its because I was using walkway font with missed it and mclock. I had to set all the font sizes myself to make em fit.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium

In that case...I don't know.
TY
Edit: Guess what. I reflashed the rom without wipe. Flashed the font and now it works. Weird.

whats the name of the clock widget ?or is that a ics thing?

That's Simi Clock:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.th.android.widget.gTabsimiClock&hl=en

Is there a way to turn Roboto font into an apk for non-rooted Galaxy SII owners ?

Just flashed the font on my CM7 nightly 220 or something like that with CWM 2.5 and it all worked great.
Just as a though, is there any way to go back to the previous font, besides restoring the backup?

IT WORKS! Installation via xRecovery.
Here's a mod of the AOSP ROM. What I've basically done is added a Gingerbread theme, add some Gingerbread apps and a few other things. It's based on version 008a of the AOSP ROM.
I don't have a Xperia anymore, but if people are willing to post some screenshots, I'd dearly appreciate that and include them in the OP.
If you like my work, you could consider buying me a beer:

Version 2.2:
Modified the Phone app, some other stuff. The menu-text is grey (I stole the correct .xml file from a Desire Z ROM), statusbar-background is black. Everything should just look a little more fancy.
http://www.mediafire.com/?n01dve9z1hw6cwo
Version 2.01:
Gone forever.
Version 2:
Modified the status-bar, framework-res.apk to look a little more like Gingerbread.
http://hotfile.com/dl/92665523/d29b00f/2.1_Gingerbread_v2fixed.zip.html
OK it should be working again. The problem was probably services.jar
Tadaaaa!
Version 1:
http://hotfile.com/dl/92341597/68ba217/2.1_Gingerbread.zip.html
Bugs:
HTC_IME doesn't work for some reason, needs to be installed manually.
Camera drivers aren't fully implemented yet.
Reserved for future use.
Changelog:
Added the correct .zip of the ROM
Made it function
Added icons, deleted apps.
Todo:
-Add, customize and remove certain apps
-Get the text back in the menus
I sent a PM because the ZIP file isn't working for xRecovery (there's an extra folder in it).
So I repacked the ZIP to have "system" in the ZIP's root and now it loads/flashes fine from xRecovery.
It's just that this ROM doesn't boot at all, tried installing/wiping twice, it's just stuck on the SE screen.
Thought this might be an important bug to post.
Can you post some screenshots?
Cuz. I'm in HK and I have slow speed in downloading files from hotfiles
Thanks~
I am from HK too,but the download speed is not too slow.
Also, you can use preminium ac searched from google

ROM doesn't boot at the moment, I recommend to wait with downloading.
It completely works. I'll fix the menus later, but they're still usable, the text in the menu (from the menu-button) just doesn't appear, but that's where icons are for.

What do you mean? Is the phone rebooting? Seems quite strange to me, the AOSP ROM doesn't do that either?

I replaced the fonts on DroidSans-Bold.ttf and droidsans.ttf and the phone was constantly rebooting
well I really like your ROM
You shouldn't have. Not all fonts work on Android and they can cause your phone to reboot constantaneously.
If you know how to work with adb, issue this command:
Code:
adb push /directory/where/you/placed/the/original/fonts/DroidSans-Bold.ttf /system/fonts
adb push /directory/where/you/placed/the/original/fonts/droidsans.ttf /system/fonts
If I remember it well, this should work.
Does this means we can't use the camera with it yet or there is just f/c close in adv. settings like the custom from j&z ?
And could you please tell me which gingerbread apps you implemented ?
It's based on the AOSP ROM, so it has the same issues. I don't know what the exact problem is in that ROM, but it's the same as in this one.
The Gingerbread apps:
Launcher
Youtube
Cardock
And more, but I accidentally forgot
does the camera and audio work?

Audio: Yes
Camera: Advanced Settings don't, the basic app does, I believe. The camera issues are the same as the AOSP ROM from jerpelea and zdzihu.

Nice Rom. Will test it out.
V2 is out. It are primarely UI changes, to look more like Gingerbread. The statusbar + icons have been modded, for example.

[Theme] Xtreme Gingerbread for X10Mini/Pro *2.0.2.A.0.24*

This theme is a combination of two amazing themes:
Xtreme by Manny, and
Gingerbread Nexus S Edition by shivenjuneja
And thanks to shivenjuneja for the reboot button, battery percentage and the 'Theme Reference for Newbies' thread.
These two have made almost everything in this theme, so credit to them
And thanks for letting me publish this.
Reboot button and Gingerbread bootanimation included.
Now these is the changes i have made:
Optimized a bunch of icons.
Updated sliding buttons on lockscreen.
Made icon for conversation (SMS), a little more green to mach the others.
Removed alot of icons from Gingerbread, only ones left is the 4 you see in the dock.
Replaced a whole lot of icons, with ones from Xtreme.
Bootanimation: (Same one as in Gingerbread)

You also need to copy the apps to '/system/app' and overwrite originals (REMEMBER PERMISSIONS), after that, and a reboot, you can insert the new icons in the dock.
I myself use Launcher Pro.
(Optional you can install the font included in the .zip also, it is the same font as in Gingerbread)

Sorry there was missing a file in package. Rapidshare link updated to new one.

thank you and thanks to Manny, shivenjuneja.
Awesome work.. Loved it I'm currently using it, but have 2 issues..
In status bar, I've just a white line when i switch on wireless net Instead of "Wireless net"-icon...
In notification tray, instead of transparent tray, I've whhite background with yellow lines
What am i doing wrong?
I think it is the same issue as above, i updated the package with a ekstra file 'framework/services.jar', if you dont have that file in the package you got, then redownload from this thread.

Hi!
Upgrading to a new software version?
Non-compatible with 2.1.1.A.0.6
Hello, and i would like to thank you for this great theme, i used it smoothly with the *24 version, but upon upgrading to the newest one 2.1.1.A.0.6 i couldnt install it and my phone was frozen on white SE logo, so i restored it.
I am asking if you are planning to upgrade this nice theme.
If it could help you, i am linking the new firmware update files blob_fs, as well as the framework files of this firmware. Maybe it could help in upgrading the theme, in case you are planning to do so.

What This Is
-GB keyboard tweaked for the Nook Colors screen (a lot of time has been put into making sure it is just the right size)
- Froyo keyboard look and feel
good news:
- since this is using the stock GB keyboard as a base themes should still affect the keyboard i dont know if there will be any adverse effect since i haven't tested it
Future plans
- have this installable along side of the stock keyboard.
- post a zip with the original keyboard in it to undo this if a user doesnt like it, make sure you nandroid before installing at the moment
RLS 2
-changed the candidate strip back to black with original colors so that themes apply correctly, tested with honeybread and it's working fine.
RLS 3
-now a standalone apk install through a file explorer like any other apk (i forget the user who made the renamed GB keyboard it is his apk tweaked)
-uploaded the zip to take you back to the stock keyboard since having 2 of the same keyboard is kind of pointless
-i think that is about all the changes to the keyboard i wanted to do so this will likely be final
Flash this zip in recovery if you are using a Prior Version to get the stock Keyboard Back
Stock Keys Zip
New! Tablet Keyboard APK
Stand Alone APK
This is a tweaked version of CMwallpapers with wallpapers all at a higher resolution for our devices screen size.
Thanks goes to 911jason for starting the thread so i had wallpapers to use there are 10 in this one i might flesh that out depending on the response i get from it
How-to Install
-use titanium backup or another app that will allow you to remove system apps to remove CMwallpapers.apk
-reboot
-install this like any other APK through a file manager
Download here
good news themes work, but since the canidate strip is white background instead of black some of the colors are off, when i get a chance to work on it again i will take it back to the stock color it might look weird but themes should work perfectly (i tested with tablet tweaked honeybread)
I tried it. But I just found out the hard way that whenever I try to use a non stock keyboard all the keys are blank. There work, but you can't see what letter they are suppost to be on the keyboard. I flashed the nightly over to get the stock keyboard back. Anyone know what's going on and how to fix it? Thanks.

wait what the keys were blank for you?
and also you know this is the stock keyboard right and there are no changes to it that would have affected the letters, i am personally using it and haven't had an issue at all. were you running a theme on it or anything?
What I mean is the keyboard shows up and works. But there are no letters or symbols on the the keys. Just grey blank keys. I tried different themes including stock, same thing.
Sent from my NookColor using XDA App
alright new version in the first post
now it is a stand alone.apk
only drawback is that themes do not apply to it now but it is nice to have both keyboards on there
reloaded the apk, there was an error in compiling causing the & key to get borked, also changed the candidate strip back since themes won't be affecting the keyboard anymore
download again if you have the problem if you don't awesome
sorry to have missed that, i don't get as much time as i used to for this stuff.
also leave some feedback if you guys like it
Awesome work! keep it up!
alright guys i have a 2nd version as well
this one keeps the gingerbread looks but
-has the dimensions of the other tablet keys
-instead of the smile key it has an enter key
the enter key mod and .apk i built this from and modified was created thanks to user notverycreative in this thread
screenie
download it here

There were three files replaced when you installed the zip. You would need to push the original copy of the files back to your phone.
Framework-res
SystemUI
And i think
TWframework-res
Do not recall off the top of my head if these are APK files or not, I think so. Also tw may be tzframework
Not sure why, but had some problems after flashing this. Phone booted partially up, but skipped the lock screen. I could see my Widgets trying to load, but screen kept going black. Tried to reboot, but same deal. May have been a CWM problem, not sure (using b3). Restored successfully with Nandroid.
Anyway, will try again later, but I was wondering if you could change the wifi and cell signal bars to blue as well. I hate the grey!
Thanks!

I haven't installed the theme but it does look nice. You're also the first themer (as far as I can remember) for our i717 Notes
I know it's just a beta, but a feature you want to look into is making the slide down bar transparent (I don't know the specific name, but the bar you pull down to show notifications/wifi/bluetooth/etc). I know that's a nice feature on my Nook Color.

Admit it, you secretly like emoji icons that iOS users seem to (ab)use in their messages.
OK maybe you don't, but you do hate the "blocks" or blank spaces appearing in their place on Twitter, Instagram, Foursquare, Email, SMS, etc.
Google knows. And has worked out a way to implement their own version in Android, starting from Jelly Bean 4.1.
Now, ICS users seem to be out of luck and that made me think and finally figure out a way to implement them in ICS.
Here is a little sneak-peek on how they look:

Note that they are black and white. This is because they are font symbols and not drawables (as they are in iPhones).
HOW?
First of all, Android uses a set of so-called "fallback fonts" for displaying characters that are not included in the primary fonts (DroidSans, Roboto, etc).
In the older days, to get emoji support, we used a modified DroidSansFallback ttf file, placed in /system/fonts. Well, if I wanted to merge AndroidEmoji font and DroidSansFallback, I'd probably lose a great part of my patience sanity and eye-vision... (there are 471 emoji icons)
So, I modified the fallback_fonts.xml in /system/etc/ and added the AndroidEmoji.ttf, as well as changing the priority with which the fallback fonts are called.
And TADA, I could view Google B/W emojis everywhere!
HOW DO I INSTALL IT?
I made a flashable zip that will work on all the Xperia 2011 models, on stock and stock-based ICS ROMs and probably to all Sony models that run ICS also (do not have access to those devices to check and be 100%).
DOWNLOAD ANDROID JB EMOJI FONT ENABLER
Flash with CMW.
(If you are rooted and on stock kernel, check how to get CMW here)
Preferably make a backup prior to installing.
I am not responsible for your device, YOU are!
Nandroid backups take 5-10 minutes to complete and can save lives.
Enjoy!
WHAT IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN XPERIA DEVICE OR RUN A CUSTOM ROM?
The tinkering needed for it to work on all devices is minimal.
Depending on the company, there may be different fallback fonts included.
For those you feel confident enough to edit system files, all you have to do is
add this line in the fallback_fonts.xml, save it, replace it in the CMW zip and flash:
Code:
<family>
<fileset>
<file>AndroidEmoji.ttf</file>
</fileset>
</family>
Just make sure it is before all the other entries, so that the Emoji font gets called first upon an unknown character.
HOW CAN I PUT EMOJIS IN MY MESSAGES/STATUSES/TWEETS/etc?
If you also want to be able to insert them anywhere, you have some choices:
1. A brilliant choice is Multiling Keyboard, which uses the newer encoding system.
2. There is also Emoji Keyboard.
However, it uses and older encoding system, so you will also need to flash this package. This mod is totally independent, you can flash it whether you flash the main mod or not. They will not interfere with each other at all. Having both mods means you can view emojis of both older and newer encoding.

NOTES
- If you like this, just press Thanks.
Do not post just to say how awesome I am. I know.
- If you are having questions/problems, post here, do not PM me.
Other people might also benefit from our conversation.
- If you are a ROM cooker/developer, PLEASE, ask for my permission before including this mod in your ROMs.
And I shall elaborate on this:
What I did here is no rocket science. Yes, I am sure anybody who would set their mind on it, could pull it through eventually. And maybe someone already has. However, I do enjoy being appreciated, because I took some time off my life to create this thread rather than just parading with my cool emoji-enabled phone, unwilling to spread the joy. I do wish for all the members of this community to benefit from this small tweak, but if I see something like this:
without my name mentioned anywhere and a link to this thread, I am going to be hurt. And probably mad.
That's all folks!

Ditto here. I can get them to show up when I type them using either keyboards linked in OP but when I send them or receive them I still get the weird "question mark in diamond symbol".

This works and has been up for while now too. So to those have problems give it a try very simple.

It seams that the fallback_fonts.xml file is different for each rom. Im on mean rom. If someone can send me their fallback_fonts.xml from the /system/etc directory i can edit it and upload a new zip.
