Ice Cream - TouchPad General

Any guesses on how long it will take to pput Ice Cream Sandwich over to the touchpad?
It would seem to be the ideal operating system as it doesn't need hardware buttons and relies on the touchscreen

takes some months

How about waiting till the bugs get fixed I think that's the priority here...

What's funny is that you think the thread you linked to was the catalyst for getting Android on the TP.
That thread was as big a waste as this one will be.

Given that we've got no idea when the full source tree will be released, assuming it ever is, it's pure speculation.

ill assume when its ready...were you planning a party based around it is that why u need the exact date for the release

CM9 Status for HTC Amaze

I am pretty anxious to use the new CM9 rom. I looked all over cyanogenmod.com but could not find anything for the amaze... Could not find a nightly build.. nothing. Does anybody have a status update? I am willing to beta test.

Unless the OP is developing CM7 or CM9 for this device it belongs in General. Moving now.
Asking for the status update for CM9 is asking for an ETA on it's own. Nobody will know until it is successfully uploaded to a server to be downloaded for the public. Any long term fan of CM roms would know this pattern and thus attract the amount of negative comments that you are receiving. In other words, it's ready when it's ready. Even in your OP you were predicting such replies.

the real question is will Cyanogen develop for the Amaze or will it need to be ported by a dev because of the lack of s-off currently?
zPacKRat , they could still use HTCDEV to unlock the device to test or anything .

Sense instead of Touchwiz

Hi,
Im all new to that root and s-off stuff therefore my questions is maybe a bit nooblike.
Is it possible to flash a htc sense to the S3? And if it is, do i get all the necessary stuff here?
I have the chance to get german T-Mobile S3 for 250€.
Problem is that i dont like the whole Samsung stuff that much. But with the Sense UI it would be fine for me.
Thx

Why do people keep asking this question. Right now, software aside, this is the best phone on the market.
The best Sense devices right now do not have removable batteries or expandable memory. So, obviously, this is a default and with 2GB of RAM, no matter if your preference is Sense or not, this phone doesn't give much room to argue against it.
But, you already know that.
To the OP, there are some guys who are working to bring Sense to this. They've got most of the bugs fixed on the Global version, but will soon start on the US version. Stay alert.
I can't help but think there would be a ton of copyright infringement by porting Sense. But i could be wrong.

Because it makes no sense to buy a non-Sense phone and hope/want Sense on it. Regardless of phone specs or whatever (One X is better in some areas btw), if you want the Sense experience then buy a Sense device.

Pure AOSP ICS rom for Xperia Active?

Okay, I've got a question

I was wondering will anything on the 4.0 work on the 4.2? they are both android 2.3, both yp-gs1 (I think)
and it's basically the same thing minus a few hardware differences that I can see. Maybe I'm wrong, I've been wrong before.

nope. they are different devices and you will brick your device if you try to flash a 4.0 rom or kernel.
I see. I suppose that makes sense, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to mobile devices. My other question, which I asked in the Q and A section only to be ignored for the past two days is this:
is it at all possible to upgrade the 4.2 galaxy player to ICS or Jellybean?
I know this should be in a q and a thread and so on but really, I'm looking for an answer, not to be ignored for two days only to get a short answer that doesn't give me...well...an actual answer. I know how these sites work and usually that is what happens unless you make a new thread.

Well first you need a dev to get ICS/JB for the device. Currently I'm working on CM7 which is still GB but it's a start... And I'm not really an experienced dev it's just that there's really no one else to try it.

I have had this device since I was 15 years old.
I am now 17, and will return to development as soon as I finish my secondary education exams (that's June 2017).
I will be, hopefully, the last person ever to desert this precious device.

If you about porting ROM, it's not too hard while this ROM has the same chip set with this phone. In case, if you found bug after porting, this point is really hard to fix it. Therefore, fixing the bug takes a long time.

I do really appreciate your efforts for the galaxy grand 2 community, but was sad at the same time for your thread getting closed just for not mentioning the credits. But hey, I thought the community was more of a "bro"therhood. So, why consider my statements as offensive?
I know I don't even stand a chance to be up to your level of experience right now, but being a junior member here, I'm sorry if that hurt you.
I'm working on getting a Nougat themed TW ROM. And I'll be upgrading my PC sometime in the coming two weeks, so I'll start AOSP too. Lineage would be easier I guess.

It would be really hard if you find ROM that has different chip set with this phone. And also, if you wanna to obtain sources tree, you must provide a very high connection.
Another hard point is if you done port the ROM, it just not booting, you need to modify zimage (core of boot.img). In this point, you need logcat to analyze error.
