ics keyboard with spellcheck? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Any chance we'll see this incorporated into a 2.3 ROM or available separately as an .apk before we see ICS ported to SGSII?

I wouldn't doubt it, the same thing happened with the Gingerbread keyboard on 2.2. Someone just needs to get a Galaxy Nexus dump and extract it to see if it works.

bumping to ask if there has been any development on this now that the source code is out?

2.3.4 swype is bad

Hey guys. Just updated from ke7 to kg2 and it's all good except the swype keyboard. I much preferred the older one... any way to get it back?

Just curious what is that you don't like from previous version? I'm using it and have no problems with it.

There used to be a popup instead of a line of words like it is now on kg2. It looked much better.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Ahh ok... individual preference I guess
Did you check on the swype beta website and see if you can get the old version?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
I agree this new version is terrible. If I cant find a way to revert to an older version, I will stop using swype! And to think I used to love it before!. I actually believe that v1.6 was the best to use.

T-Mobile wifi calling app

Hi I was wondering if anyone knows how I could get this on my phone. I have a vibrant and my cousin has a captivate and we are both on T-Mobile but I want something like a apk or a flashable cwm zip that would be compatible on both the captivate and the vibrant. Please someone help me, thanks in advance

Some roms come with wifi calling. Just gotta look in the listed features in the op... froyo ones are more likely to be better and less half-assed. Idk anything about captivate... tell him to get a vibrant

Ya but isn't there a way to just download an apk or flash a zip file to make it work but I want it to work on any phone.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Not at my pc, but you can do this. Install Bloater (made by a dev here on xda) and use that to install wiring calling. Neat and overall useful app. Here is the link: http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?t=591&

Actually, head to the Dev section and look for EDT Project V ROM thread. In the OP there is the wifi calling .zip file attached which you can flash through recovery. Just did it myself and worked like a charm.

It should work just fine. Check out the 1.3.1 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925548
He has it listed under "Addons" which you flash yourself, so I think that tells you it works/is compatible w/ his rom. If you want to stick w/ their stuff, head here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/bionix-v/files/
Download the samsung-apps.zip, open it, drill into system -> app, and extract the wifi-calling .apk file and install like any other app.
I flashed the wifi calling zip from the project v rom thread and the wifi calling doesn't seem to work. All it says is that it is enabling but it never does. I am on simply galaxy v2.7.2 rom
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Do you think it has something to do with the model number being it says GT-I9000. When I really have a vibrant
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
did you try the .apk route?
I downloaded bloater and there doesn't seem to be any wifi calling app in there
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
i dont think it would work for the captivate since t-mobile is stingy about this stuff
here are two apk's you can try. i dont know if either will work on the captivate.
both from same xda thread. one is on page 1 and the other is on page 12
Page 1
Page 12 <<<the one on page 12 is the one i used on my vibrant and it works just fine
(its in post #118)
Both of them did not work on my vibrant, all it does is say that it is enabling but it never really enables it. Do you think it is the model number.

Ask in the thread that pertains to your rom, the dev may know. At this point I think we've helped as much as we can in this thread.

Alright thank you for all your help. Hopefully i get it to work, i moved on to gingerbread lol its much better

No problem, glad I could help.

I was able to download it no problem... They put a posting that it would be off the market for a few days due to some payment issues. So maybe that is why.
Sent from my YP-G70 using XDA
That would explain it. I still think that Tapatalk is far superior tho. You can add more forums.

The XDA app is simply a forum-specific Tapatalk variant that is not updated nearly as often.
For example, the XDA app would FC on Honeycomb devices for months after Tapatalk fixed the issues.
It is back on the market.

Tried to not use flash at all but sadly some sites are still clinging to it. It seems like its taking way to long to transition to HTML5. This came in handy though thanks

It may work on ICS, but it may not. It does work for me on Samsung stock ICS, but I've not tried on CM9. However, that said; did you even read what Sun90 linked above? At all? Because it's a post from the guy who actually developed Chainfire 3D. You know. His name is Chainfire. Maybe you should read the post again, because it contains all the information you are asking about.
I DID read the link and the link properly said IT will NOT work on ICS. Only Foryo and GB! Now i need to wait people with CM10 paranoid.
