[Q] Samsung Dive - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i know there are threads regarding samsung dive but my question is if the phone is locked via browser can it be unlocked ?
P.S after 3 months of galaxy experience i gave it a try first time

Yes by reflashing it, then using an unlocker. Dive will help you track the phone as long as it is not flash but the moment it is flashed dive is removed.

Why not doing it the correct way and log into your Samsung Dive account and make a new pin if you have forgotten it?
Q: After running the ”Lock My Mobile” function, I found my mobile but I lost my PIN. Can I unlock the mobile without a PIN number?
A: Run the ”Lock My Mobile” function again in the SamsungDive service with a new PIN and cancel the "Lock My Mobile" function with the new PIN.

So samsung DIVE is easy to kill. not sure if its the latest build or not. if my phone gets stolen. if finder gets pass my screen locks and pin numbers they just need to go to accounts and REMOVE samsung account and DIVE is inactivated. NO password required
is this just a retarded miss from Samsung? should i get another lock software?
Have i missed something or is it really that simple to kill DIVE?

[Q]Too many pattern attempts [airplane mode]

Hello,
I had a problem with my Motorola Xoom WiFi.
My girlfriend was playing with my tablet and trying to guess my login pattern .. she tried it too many time until xoom shows:Too many pattern attempts!
Unfortunately sign in via Google account did not worked and WiFi network was turned off.
So I am looking for way how to unlock it without root access or hard reset>> is that possible ?
Heeeeeeeeeeeeelp
it has been a day waiting !!
Since Google Sign in didn't work and you don't have root I belive the only thing you can do is hard reset.Or try turning it off (by draining its battery if you don't have another way) and then try to unlock it or Google Sign in.If that fails then proceed to factory reset.

I don't think that emptying battery is a good idea
it tooks 10h while "on play" so what do u think the time that may took when it's just in black screen and no wifi is working?!
I really need a professional or just a simpler way>>
thanks
Did you have usb debugging enabled? If so should be able to reboot your device via adb.
Edit: Also found this... http://matthewhollander.com/locked-out-of-your-android-phone/
Thanks..
Unfortunately I didn't enabled ADB>> So, is that really the end of the road!!

I'm afraid it looks like that. Lesson learned though right? Don't let girlfriends play with your gadgets, they always break things

I think I'll give the battery a chance to be empty and try again!
unless I got a new idea
Heeeeeeeelp
no any benefit from emptying battery !!
I don't want to hard rest it !
I'm afraid you don't have a choice. Your out of options. Unless you can some how extract the memory from the device and read it through another system in order to back it up.

Stick a different carrier sim card into the phone and it should still prompt you to unlock it regardless of ROM.
I am not stating this as fact but that has been my experience unlocking phones. Reverting to stock may be required.
I was told that on an other thread which seemed seemed odd at the time but decided to ask anyways
I'll do just that thanks man

I said that about stock. cellphoneunlocker.net said stock. The remote guy doesn't say stock, but he asks you to type in some dialer codes to see if you are stock-ish. At&t expects stock.
Like Flapjaxxx said, before you do anything try another carrier's sim and see if the network control screen is what you see at booting. If you do, good. Enter the code and enjoy.
Several users of non-stock roms said they never got the network control screen when they booted, but they got a status alert saying incorrect sim, so they tried to enter the code in the dialer but the phone stayed locked. So they went to stock and got it done.
Try it and see. You can't break anything. And sorry if you feel I was misinforming anyone. I always try to give the safest answer I can.
no prob that's why I asked

NFC on while screen off, How/help?

So heres the scoop fellow Android enthusiasts, I want to be able to use nfc with my screen off to unlock it, Specifically to put a tag in my wallet that I can tap to unlock whenever, I am running rooted clean rom ace 4.5 with twrp custom backup. I dont know how I would go about doing this or if there is a way that would work without ****ing up my phone. Anyone able to help?
As far as I know, my ROM is the only one that offers this functionality.

Hard Reset

Hello,
So Bassicly i just did something amazingly stupid.
i locked myself out of my phone, i kno call me a noob idc.
anyway i was trying out the face recognition on the device and i did it in a rush so i forgot the backup pin and then i started to use it and got used to it but recently i tried to remove it as it was getting annoying but i needed the pin (wich i typed in randomly because i was in a rush) wich i dont know so i was looking through my apps deleting old onse and i saw a app called face recognition annd stupid me went and disabled it.
AND NOW I CANT UNLOCK MY PHONE!
i tried to do a hard reset but every effort ive tried is not working.
Any help,
Harry Gleed

Bypassing pattern screen lock

Hey guys,
I have a device which i need to unlock (screen pattern lock).
I have no details regarding it's google account/PIN or any other method that allows unlocking it without using the pattern.
I tried downloading aroma file manager that allows access to the password file and delete it, but when i tried to install the aroma manager (through recovery, from an sd card) i keep getting these errors:
e: footer is wrong
e: signature verification failed
is there any way to solve this?
i can't access the device, so i can't enable debugging mode and things like that...is there any solution, besides wiping everything back to factory settings?
thanks!
This sounds fishy, why do you have no clue as to what the Google account/pin is?

because i found the device on the street...i want to find the owners to return it (find a relevant phone number in the contacts or something), but i can't unlock the phone....obviously since it's not mine i have no details about any accounts on it.
if i wanted to take it and use it i would just reset it, but i don't want to do that...
Congratz, now it's even more fishy. Give the phone to local authorities and rest, hero. "assuming ur story was real"

wow, thanks really...very helpful.
We have no proof of what you say, and its easy to lie on the internet. Also any way to help you will result in all data being deleted... Return the phone to the local authorities.
Also, lollipop implemented wipe protection so wipes will leave the the phone locked as well...
I actually have the same question. My brother passed away a year ago. His s4 is locked but I want to save his pictures that he has on there, so factory reset is NOT an option. Please help

Take it to the Verizon store, they should be able to help you in your circumstances. Just prove that you are his brother. BTW if this is true, I'm sorry you lost your brother

Thank you very much
Verizon will not help you at all and can not help you at all.
The local authorities are always useless.
The only way to bypass is with a nowipe tar. If you don't know what that is it's probably too much of a PITA to attempt.
