Anyone else using the default ADW Launcher in CM7 6.5.8, do you notice pixelation of icons in your app drawer? I only noticed this yesterday, not sure whether if it's been so since the beginning. I've gone through the ADW settings but none of the option seem related to this. See below the comparison between icons in ADW (left) and Zeam (right).

That only happens in the app drawer. If I drag it to the homescreen the shortcut icon will be smooth.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Same ROM and kernel?
My market looks alright, but I'll try GO and other launchers later...
Nope. It's andy's Phoenix with franco 02.10.2011. But the problem occured when i wanted to change some themes in CM. I flashed andy's rom, but the problem still there !
Can you try Zeam? Though if it's Andy's, you might as well wait a few hours to see if flashing the bugfix update helps or not.
Here is another person with the problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18549580&postcount=1827
Bundled ADW = pixelated
Market ADW = fine
Still no solution so far. I could just set market ADW as my default and freeze the bundled... but it just feels like a waste of space.
Hi, i just read your comment on the other topic.
The Market ADW not show wallpaper in application box and have lower
perfomance. But the icons view perfect

The wallpaper can be set from its settings (Menu>More>ADW Settings).
I reflashed and it became fine.

maybe the optimus v launcher? it looks like froyo.
please help
use Zeam launcher ! you will find it on market
Launcher Pro brings you the Froyo-style and is highly configurable.
zeam launcher does not have the froyo styled dock. also not re-arrange shortcuts in menu.
i have launcher pro. i like it but i cannot re-arrange the shortcuts like in the lg launcher.
Any other launcher that might work?

Of course you can, just delete all shortcuts and put them in the order that you want.

no you can't i tried and have been using it for months, the only launcher i found was the go launcher. but it does not look like froyo
Go Launcher has the "arrange in the order you want", but the app drawer doesn't look like the one Froyo comes with (which is not really a bad thing).
Check it out.

Ok, and how you are move/manage it?
Hi all,
I have found the MIUI style launcher , translated from Chinese to English,
tested it on HTC wildfire and it works perfect, tested on CM 7.0.3
except some Chinese words which appear some times in some apps and widgets.
it has themes and wallpapers that you can download online

yeah it comes with an icon pack, but the launcher sucks, it is smooth and all but icons are all over each other lol, its just messy, i tried changing the dpi from 120 to 110 to maybe make it better, nah the app just force closes, so, app looks like crap. its nice if you got a bigger resolution screen tho.
don't change the main theme and it will fit for wildfire screen
or look for themes with square icons.
other themes ( with round icons) icons go over each other.

Reckon it's MIUI, the iPhone lookalike ROM. And those are just shortcuts on the homescreen.
I don't think its miui , doesn't mather because it was the launcher you where after. Have you looked at zeam launcher?

Elixir 2 widget with a hidden dockbar perhaps? ADW launcher has the ability to disable or hide the main dockbar. Note that you will need the main Elixir 2 app to run the widget.
it looks like Elixir 2 Widgets but it's not...
E2 widget brings 4x1 & 5x1 widgets but only with 7 or 9 "slots" for icons/actions.
Maybe you should take a look at Go Launcher EX... ?
Where did you get that screenshot from? You took it yourself? Maybe some comment on the video asking t the same thing and got an answer?

What do you mean two files? There is one row of icons and another one is just same size icons on the desktop. So, the drawer has one line of icons.

This wallpaper that appears fine on the stock launcher is shifted down on ADW causing a black bar on the top. I cleared data, restarted, reinstalled, blah blah my ADW and it is still like that.
Any help?
I noticed the same thing while testing adw ex. The only wallpaper that looked correct was a live wallpaper I tried (skyrim)
I don't know how or why but ADW treats the background as if your screen had a lower screen resolution. I haven't experimented a lot but try making the images smaller.
That's why I don't like using thst launcher for thst reason alone. Its really only good for phones. STOCK ICS LAUNCHER ALOT BETTER. N with my method of using picspeed to apply wallpapers, it looks great.

The stock launcher lacks customizability. Things like removing the page indicators, changing the app drawer, changing the size of the desktop grid, etc. The wallpaper is the only knock I have on ADW.
ya i think adw has bugs on wallpaper and scrollable widgets not working.
Use wallpaper live from the market,
someone know how can i delete the blue line on top?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, I have problems with scrollable widgets as. I thought there was a setting on the launcher to enable it like launcherpro but from where I read, its enabled automatically. I guess it's not fully compatible with ICS yet

I'm searching for the same answer too. I don't want to hide the status bar, but I want the blue line gone. Same issue here with the wallpaper. I'm using the picspeed method too with the stock launcher and I'm very happy along with elixir widgets. Until both issues above get resolved, I'm staying with stock.
I can't seem to find a good screenshot of it (and the only person I know with a tablet's sleeping, so I'll post one tomorrow if I get the chance), but in Honeycomb and the tablet version of ICS, when you scroll on your current home screen to another screen you can see light-blue glowy outlines for the icons on the screen you're scrolling to.
Is it possible to replicate that effect in ICS for a phone? Would that have to be something done at the homescreen level, or something deeper? The Android tablets always had my attention with this effect.
Thankies! =]
Apex launcher, free in market, lets you have that animation. It is like ICS stock launcher with a lot more options. Choose trasition effect as tablet from Apex home screen settings.
I know exactly what you are talking about. I suggest you maybe contact the APEX launcher guys (Android Does) and see if that is even possible. I like it too and think it would be cool on the phone level.
Wow, you guys replied quickly... Thank you both. =D

It sort of does; it has the outline of the homescreen that moves around, which looks kinda' cool. However, it's still missing the part where the icons and widgets get that same outline treatment and then as they move in, slowly become visible.

Will do; I just wish Apex Launcher would let me move my homescreens around when I'm in the preview mode. xD It's the one thing I preferred Nova Launcher for, but Apex has improved lots since when I first used it (when it first came out).
Landscape mode?
