It depends on if it's a branded one and in which country it was bought.

If it's a branded one you can uses HSPL4 (HSPL3.03) to install another ROM 3.14 than the one which was designed for your device.

i purchase htc hd 2 from australia but now i m in india.
my rom version is 1.72.841.0(82124 wwe) dated 02/23/10
no of ways i try to upgrade rom but i failed in every try.
i try to update from indian htc site but i fail.
i try to update from sd card but not working
i try to updatd from t-mobile site using my imei no but site says wrog imei no.
now i have not idea how to update my htc hd2

If it is from Australia, than it might be a Telstra model T9193.
Therefor the latest official ROM is the one which is installed on your HD2.
Go to bootloader screen and look at the first line, PB81110 is the Telstra number.
If you want to switch to ROM 3.14, you have to use HSPL4 and your desired ROM from here.

My Htc hd2 Is European version Not T-mous, Made in Taiwan with all White buttons ( not Green and Red )
I just remember that i had 1.66.XXXX winmo 6.5 not 1.72.XXXX
My question is , Can I use a european english stock rom with diferent Serial number . a 1.66.XXXX version ?

If it shipped with a 1.66 rom, then it's unbranded, so its only the localisation to get right.

Hi im a noobie (from Old XDA 2I) with a HTC HD2 (Original T Mobile ROM) so after a few months I thought I would try a New/Upgrade ROM saying I had played around with the old XDA quite a bit. So I downloaded RUU_Le2_UK_143.206.4_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.o7U_ 2.04.50.22_2.ship.exe ROM and also HardSPL_3 I successfully installed Hardspl_3 but when I try to Flash the O2 rom I get up to 80% and then have the error ERROR[302] : UPDATE ERROR
I have tried about 6 times to go through the recovery but I still get the same error

Apparently yes they are different. I have a unlocked t Mobile htc hd2 and I thought I could flash a O2 stock rom onto it Im now downloading a t mobile rom and trying that. I shall let you know

Have you tried to enter bootloader?
If you can enter it, than no, your hd2 is not bricked

[Q] Noobie with a few Questions
Have my HD2 now working after thinking I had bricked my New HD2. Thanks for all the help, by the way.
I downloaded a O2 Stock Rom and when flashing it reached 80% and died and would not flash at all and kept booting to the Tri colour Boot screen so I then downloaded a TMO stock rom and used that and its now OK ish.
I have a TMO unlocked HD2 using Winmo 6.5 with the O2 provider, So it still boots with the T Mobile screens and tries to use the TMO Walk and Web for internet connection. I manually input the O2 Settings into My ISP and I can get onto the net through this. Phone, Email and SMS work fine with O2
Some more new questions?
1) Can I not use a O2 Rom on the TMO unlocked HTC HD2 phone?.
2) Can I flash the HD2 with a Custom Rom
3) If I can What would the best stable rom to Flash with.....!!!!

3) Energy ROM ore Artemis ROM are very good.
Only problem is Artemis ROM use the latest stock ROM 3.14 (There isn't a 3.14 UK T-Mobile stock ROM available yet, so you need to use the Goldcard technique)
Ow, no matter witch custom ROM you choose, reed and follow the install instructions mention on there threads.

Yes you can, but why would you want to? HSPL the phone, then flash it it the HTC 1.66WWE ROM. This is basically the 1.72 ROM that the operators brought out, but without all the guff that the operators add in.
I have a 1.66WWE ROM with a T-Mobile UK HD2. Everything works as it should and it is stable.

Again, yes you can. But please read, and then reread, the chef's instructions. They will tell you if you if their ROM is suitable for your phone, if you need to HSPL (or Gold Card or SSPL) it and what Radio ROM is suitable for it.

The HTC 1.66WWE ROM is very stable for me, along with the 2.15 RADIO. As for custom ROMs, then go to the custom ROM section and have a good read.

This is all strange to me as I owned a XDA2I for about 6 years. Thanks to this site I could make that dance and had quite a few Progs working that a few people could not.
I even purchased a few spare or repair XDA's off EBay and had three working by mixing and matching

I have HD2 (i think is no branding) from Germany (i guess, bacause language documents is germany) and HTC have SPL 3.03.0000, so i must downgrade to 2.08 to install WP7.

If it isn't a branded device and it is a Ger Rom; try than this ROM.

If you don't find the right ROM to upgrade; use the GoldCard technique if you will install stock ROM 3.14

For flash my mozart with this hardware what unbranded goes i choose ?

Hello, first: yes the ansar methode is a alternative method without goldcard for flmashing the mozart or other WMP7 HTC model (see other topics), but if you are in my case in FR orange without "kitchened rom" by ANsar the only way is gold card with a specific usb cabale.
For information i flash my fr orange branded with RUU EUROPE htc roms (see on the net in filshare web site) and magic my phone is unbranded and no attachment operator see in information system (but always simlock).

You can only flash cooked winmo roms that say 'tmous compatible' or 'T Mo compatible', and you can use android.
You must never ever flash ANY stock rom except those for the tmoUS. ALL other stock roms will destroy your phone.

What samsamuel says?..Multiple it by 2...Same thing goes with flashing radios...Neva ever flash a .51 radio...u can flash .50 radios but its safer u just stick 2 the current radio you have now till u r more comfy wit flashing.
Summary, Wateva u do...Make sure u perform & confirm a HSPL on ur phone, then visit the Tmobile Windows Mobile 6.5 development thread for possible ROMs...Select one n flash em, if u like it? then keep it.....As long as u have a HSPLed device, u can flash repeatedly. (i've personally lost count of d number of flashing i''ve done )

You are fine, you have a regular hd2 and can flash anything safely.(well, usual risks apply)
Hspl4 , 3.03.hspl, flash wwe _3.14 rom using USB.

There is no free network unlock. Only way is either t mobile us customer asks them for code or you buy one online.
Hspl,flashing,roms, magldr, none of that will network unlock your phone.
@Destiny, as Sam says, only way to unlock the network is to get the unlock key through the original seller (in the US) or buy it online. I bought a T-Mo HD2 last week and unlocked it. Works just fine

I have recently been trying to debrand my HTC 7 Mozart (Orange UK branded) following the tutorial on this forum. Although the links to ansar's roms were not working anymore I managed to find Orange UK rom (RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.30.061.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50_RELEASE) and an HTC Europe one (RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50_RELEASE) to flash on top of the first one. The Orange rom flashed successfully but the HTC Europe rom gave me an "invalid vendor ID" error. I found out then that in order to flash my Mozart with HTC Europe 1.30 rom I need to use at least the Orange UK 1.22 rom. Is there any chance I can roll back to 1.22 version and then flash the HTC Europe 1.30 rom on top of it?
I found another thread on this forum posted by ansar which says that if my firmware version is of the form xxxx.yy.zzzzz.061 ie with characteristic value 061 (which is, I checked my phone), then I can flash both of the following roms to unbrand my HTC Mozart:
RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.30.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_ 22.33b.50U_NoDo_by_ansar
RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.30.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_ 22.33b.50U_NoDo_Signed_by_ansar
