After purchasing a few cheap cases on Ebay and having them break pretty quickly, I decided to go with a Otterbox case for my Atrix. Only problem is with a case like this it is impossible to use with the laptop dock. Does anyone know if there are adapters or cable extensions I can buy for the power and hdmi port, or am I stuck dismantling the case every time I need to use the dock? Thanks.

i wanted to get the TAB with a keyboard dock and an official book cover case
the things i that i figured that the tab would not fit in the dock anymore because of the case
so i'm in a delima should i just get one or both,removing my pad from the case everytime i wanna charge with the dock seems like too much trouble

That's pretty much it. I have the bookcover case and a dock. If I plan on using the Tab for a long time and want to charge it while I use it, I remove the cover and dock it. Otherwise if I just want to charge it, I leave it in the case and plug it in. Not much of a pain in the rear since I don't use the dock everyday, but just occasionally.
okay thanks for clearing that up.......might just wait until the bluetooth keybaord case is available
so I've been using the generic ebay evo 3D dock that doesn't have any guide on the side and require one to wiggle the phone around to insert the charge tip into the phone. Getting a bit tire of this, and wanting to buy a new dock.
Does anyone know, beside the Seidio and the new Kidigi HDMI dock (too expensive) any other alternate options for Dock that would work with a case (typical TPU case)?
Yes I searched, there were a few thread discussing docks but no answer to my question.
No, I don't want to use a car dock like iGrip (i use that in my car already)

Just ordered one that I want to use to make a custom dock that I can fit in my cup holder in my car, as this phone is too big for my cup holders and that's where I like to keep my phone when driving. Was looking for a good/cheap dock, so thanks again for reporting back on the quality of this one. Definitely a nice price. Free shipping with amazon prime too.

Actually the Samsung OEM dock is great. It's $40 at the ATT store. But I paid $20 with my premiere account.

so sorry for the delayed response! yes this desktop charger comes with one ac adapter in addition to a usb cable that is a cable built into the charger itself.
it allows you to keep the phone plugged into to both pc & ac wall at the same time with out the need to switch cables
it has a overload protection so no fear of charging burnouts.
it is definetely a snug tight fit onto the cradle itself. never worries about falling over or lose connections. i can say it works super super tight . real happy w/purchase.

Does anyone know of a better quality, or more rugged designed cable to charge the galaxy tab instead of the flimsy little very breakable cable that it comes with? Gone through three of them and getting tired of buying new ones.

I have always had my phones in protective cases and screen protectors on the glass. Since currently, and probably never, will there be a case that will allow the phone to dock with the station (awkward folio case excluded) I feel like every day is a gamble walking around with my Padfone X naked just so I can easily slip it into the station whenever I want to. I have a wish.
I would love to see a tether cable that we could plug into the station and the phone. We could wrap the phone up in Otterboxes run the cable from our bag or pocket or nightstand to the station in our hands! Doesn't that sound wonderful?
C'mon EE's and hardware hackers (maybe ASUS product dev too), is this possible?

To be blunt, this sounds like a fugly idea, if you make JUST a cable to connect the 2. How are you going to hold both? If there was some kind of weird contraption that mounts an otter box to the station, it would add way too much weight and bulk.
In short, the Padfone X is for people who are ok using their devices naked, because any other way is just too awkward for an already partially awkward device.
The only way your idea would be useful would if you had the keyboard and you kept it and the station sitting on your desk and you came in to home/work and docked your phone to it. But that seems like a waste for sure.
No way jose. Think about it; nice light station in your hand with a cable running off to your end table where the phone sits, or, into your backpack beside you or at your feet. Easy peasy.
To each his own I guess. Have you tried just using a micro USB extension cable?
How about a case that works for both. A case for the phone and a second for the pad that accommodates the phone with a cable and it's own slot.
