I thought I saw a thread in the accessories section where someone bought the cable from monoprice and it didnt work. Does this one work for you?
Doh
I just found it though about buying it. With what your saying I may just flip the bill for the one from Samsung.
just found the thread about the one that didn't work. They have a couple ones listed. The one I linked lists the S2 as compatible.

It has chip inside for signal conversion.

Nice! Skimmed through but any info on pricing? 200 dollars and it would seem like a great deal. Any more and someone might as well get a regular laptop lol

Exactly, I know the price gonna be high as hell. $200 or less would be great though.
will be classified as tethering?

hmmm... do these units have an HDMI out or is the only way to connect the phone up to my LCD screen is to have a dock or an HDMI hack?
it would be sick if they had an hdmi out and we could run the lapdock screen and extend to a monitor, but then again i bet the graphics hardware does not support this.
but i see that is says comes with 2 USB ports. guessing this would mean we can connect a usb keyboard or mouse? would USB storage sticks be supported?
im curious how the hardware and drivers would behave when connected to the lapdock from these units. does the drivers load to the lapdock or phone or what events take place here?
I hope Motorola sees this post and thinks about the user. hdmi out please.
Either way, I'm am happy this is coming out...my mopho is gonna be complete with this!

i stand corrected on my previous post apparently there is a dock behind the screen
http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/U...ccessories/Docking-Stations/Lapdock-100-US-EN
It was mentioned in one of the posts elsewhere that it also has a wifi radio. Although I can't confirm that.
Edit:
AHA, I knew i saw it mentioned somewhere...
In a bid to make the new LapDock more useful, the new version also includes a built-in Wi-Fi N radio in order to use it more effectively without relying on the phone’s data connection

Thanks for the post. Just watched the video on my Photon. Wow, great quality picture on the phone. What can't this phone do? Lol.
Posted on another thread, but I saw a video somewhere where the Motorola person showcasing the device said it will be around $250.

According to the 2011 Fall CTIA Convention, at the Sprint booth, you are correct. The Motorola representavive said that it will be available at the Sprint Store for around $250.
Please join the Motorola Photon fan group on XDA. See my signature for details.
And once again, as usual, they couldn't make the plug on the cable so that it fits a phone WITH a case on. If I have to remove my case to use the lapdock, then forget it, I won't be buying it.

I haven't decided but I would have been on board for around 150....do I really wanna go an extra 100 is the main question.

Yep...way too expensive for just a "dumb" terminal. Personally I would rather have something I can plug my phone into and turn it into a tablet. Then would have larger touchscreen that can have keyboard/mouse added to it. More functional in my opinion. Guess if I was traveling a lot it would be nice to have.

Engadget.com is reporting $200 for the small one and $300 for the bigger one. If true, I'm in for the small one.
My USB port is hosed and Ive read that you can buy a flex cable and just replace the entire logic board/adapter but I'm unable to find a place that sells them specifically for the ATT SGH-I777. Every store online only sells replacement parts for the i9100. Does anyone know id either the usb port or the flex cable itself from the i9100 is compatible with the ATT SGS2?
Thanks

Hi,
Do you have any idea where weather it is available in India?
Thread was started a year ago with no info.. lets let this one die...
As the title says. I have searched but of the 31 thread, none directly say where to purchase one.
So if someone knows of a trusted source, it would be appreciated, thank you.

I honestly just picked a cheap, most likely mass produced one off of ebay and it works out fine. It was like a dollar or two, total.
I bought from ebay uk last year. 1.5 £. Works fine

Just use ebay! They are mass produced, it's only a resistor soldered across two of the pins. They're very easy to make.Hence why you can get them cheap.
As the others said, got mine from eBay too. Really cheap and it works.

Oh come on, it's what ? 1 pound, 2 pounds on eBay ? go wild, live dangerously, order from two sellers at once At that price, biggest risk is getting the jigs shipped in an envelope coloured in a colour you don't like.

Or if you're really bored with spare time on your hands then just solder a 300kΩ resistor over pins 4 & 5 of a chopped up mini USB adaptor. Also that way if you make it yourself you know it's gonna be good quality.

With ICS, and thanks to Chainfire, you no longer need to buy a jig
Use the software equivalent Triangleaway instead Will be good to buy it from the market also to support the dev's amazing efforts.

He said it could brick your device
If not careful, that's why I'm staying away for now.

Flashing the old bootloader & using the jig also has a (normally very small) risk of bricking your device as well. So I guess it's a case of which pill you want to take
I did it. Worked flawlessly and took less than a second. Cheers guys, and ChainFire of course!

We finally for these in stock at my tmobile store.
I know there is a huge thread about the wireless charging but that is mostly dedicated to using a custom receiver not the official case.
What charging pad should I get for my official case? I hear people say the cheap ones then others say the Nokia others say the Tytl. And people who say all those are junk.
I'm confused from reading the 100 page thread and it doesnt even pertain to me since im using the official samsung wireless charging s view case

The thread is for all wireless charging, whether wireless charging case or just the receiver. The recommendations for pads are also on that thread. Just join in. No need to create a new thread. Also threads for S-View on the forum already.
Thank you for your uselefull and extremely helpful post.
You can go ahead and just scrolll past this post if you have nothing to contribute.
I have read thru all 100 pages of the wireless thread and every recommendation is later shot down and said that it doesn't work. It's 100 pages of contradiction
