[Q] Code Aurora repository - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, guys.
I found a repository that has the files that I need. The trouble is that the repository is not GIT repository "as is". I can not find .git for it, and that us why I can't do "git clone" for getting files.
Maybe I can download the repository from the site using "wget", but it is quite wrong way.
I hope for your help.
Repository is here: codeaurora.org/git/projects/froyo-gb-dsds-7227/repository
P. S. This thread would have cost to create at development forum, but I still do not have that 10 posts, so let it be here. Also this is the reason of the unclickable link.
P. P. S. Sorry for my poor English.

Sorry for bump, but is anybody here?

Oh, it's pretty cool, everybody are helping each other. There are lots of answers.
Thanks, guys. >_<

git clone git://codeaurora.org/ + project path.
for entire platform:
repo init -u git://codeaurora.org/platform/manifest.git
repo sync

I know how to clone main repository. The problem was exactly with repository for msm-7227.

[DEV] Solution to android.git.kernel.org being hacked

For people who want to make AOSP ROMs and Not cyanogenMod based ROMs
I have a present for you
Till the android.git.kernel.org is down
I have found a alternative
I have edited the Original "Repo" File to allow flawless syncing of google's resources
They can be found
https://github.com/spaarc/tools_repo
simply use
curl https://github.com/spaarc/tools_repo/blob/master/repo > ~/bin/repo
OR
curl https://github.com/spaarc/tools_repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
and to set git INIT use this command
repo init -u https://github.com/android/platform_manifest.git -b gingerbread
That is about it
Happy Building

How old are you? Stop this first thing. It's getting annoying. Especially when that reply is pointless.
And just read and understand that text.
spaarc provides a solution to get AOSP sources. That's it.
i was so excited when i saw this!!
but its times out on the "repo init -u https://github.com/android/platform_manifest.git -b gingerbread"
looks like its still trying to go to kernel.org
any ideas?
this repo isnt working
i keep getting error at line 1

If you go to:
https://github.com/TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_samsung/tree/cm-10.1/i9300
And select the "git read only" button. Then press copy to clipboard, you'll find what you're actually wanting to clone is:
git://github.com/TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_samsung.git

Compiling error ../repo/android.git is HTML?

I just got everything working for the first time finally and I'm not sure how to get around this. Every compiling/building guide says to execute the following with appropriate URL and branch, but it gives me the (second) below.
Code:
repo init –u git://github.com/user/android.git –b cm-10.2
Code:
[email protected]:~/android/omni$ repo init -u git://github.com/mike64221/android.git -b android-4.4
/home/mike/bin/repo: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
/home/mike/bin/repo: line 1: `<!DOCTYPE html>'
I just can't figure it out. Could anyone help?
Yes, I am (attempting) to build Omni.
Hopefully there'll be some possible solutions by morning so I can go ahead and let it work during school.

You downloaded the repo utility wrongly. I'm guessing from a dead link (the HTML file is your repo file, not android.git). Look for the correct location and download it again.

What repo utility? The repo Linux package? If so, where should I download it from? I got the current version from the default Crunchbang/Debian repositories.

I doubt a system package installed itself to your home directory.
Code:
/home/mike/bin/repo

Must have copied the link wrong. (Using this guide http://www.techlila.com/compile-android-rom-from-source-code/) Now I'm getting
Code:
bash: /home/mike/bin/repo: Permission denied
EDIT: Nevermind, got it. Just had to do some digging at http://source.android.com/source/downloading.html.
EDIT: Now getting
Code:
fatal: manifest 'default.xml' not available
fatal: remote caf not defined in /home/mike/android/omni/.repo/manifests/default.xml
will be checking responses periodically, can't try for around 6-7 hours.
EDIT: Reading it now, I need to add a remote for "caf". Yay, more digging.
Looked through the default.xml in class and found the caf remote with no fetch, so I'll have to fix that sometime, then hopefully it'll be all good.
Got home, fixed it up, got it working and now there are issues with the omni repos (another person got the same error as me). Hopefully either overnight build or during-school build works. Thanks for your help!

Building AOSP

I am trying to build AOSP. I have followed some instructions and the best are the instructions of Sony. But when I come to the point to clone the local_manifests, I need to have another file because I am trying to build it for the OnePlus One. I have found the AOSP-bacon repo on github where is a local_manifests to clone. So I have done that but when I try to sync the repo with the command 'repo sync' it gives this back:
[email protected]:~/android$ repo sync
fatal: remove-project element specifies non-existent project: platform/build
I have searched but could not find the answer what to do now. Can someone help me or say what I need to do to build AOSP?
You're cluttering your roomservice.xml with too much stuff. You only really need 3 things, device tree, vendor and kernel sources. You don't need to define the github tag since it should already have been defined in your default.xml located in .repo/manifests.

Building AOSP using CM device files

Hello
I'm trying to build AOSP 6.0.1 using your CM device files (CM13 has been successfully built for my device, Huawei P8). I'm not too experienced with this so some help is appreciated. Right now I have synced the google repo
repo init -u https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest -b android-6.0.1_r80
cd .repo
git clone https://github.com/CM-Huawei-P8-Development/local_manifests_gra_l09
cd local_manifests_gra_l09
cd ../..
repo sync
This is where I'm now. The confusion is about am I supposed to also download or sync the device files from https://github.com/CM-Huawei-P8-Development/device_gra_l09 (the device tree)
Also is this https://github.com/CM-Huawei-P8-Development/kernel needed to be downloaded separately? I see in the hwgra-l09-dev.xml file that the repos are indeed listed but will it also work for AOSP?
I'm following a guide for Sony device and it says that next I'm supposed to
source build/envsetup.sh && lunch <--- here something device specific maybe?
and
make –j 8
What am I missing ?
