We've known for a while that they are not going to release it =( I was looking forward to it back when I got my evo 3d too.
HTC confirms that official EVO 3D kickstand case will not be released

Yup, not gonna happen. Too bad, that's the best looking case for the 3D. HTC really screwed us on this one...

when I bought mine, I HAD to have a case; otherwise the phone wouldnt last 5 minutes lol..
Long story short; i bought the otter box; it came with a hard case to put the phone in, a rubber case to go around the hard shell, and a little 'clip in' style holster... i was kinda bummed it didnt have a kick stand like my HD2 did, however, when I started messing around with it, I folded the belt clip parallel with the case, and just sat the phone in it 'not snap it in' and its just like a kick stand!
if you need more elaboration, ill take a pic when I get home.
also, it has like 4 viewing angles... not clipped in, clipped it, holster clipped open-un clipped, and clipped out... if that makes any sense X_X

With the Defender the belt clip is made to function as a kickstand. Open all the way it locks in place and works perfect

[Q] Arm band holder

Has anyone tried a hold like THIS ONE. I'm thinking about getting one so I can use it while running, but I'm just afraid of the phone falling(Flying) out. And does anyone know if the touch screen would work through the covering?
Looks good, but yeah I hear your concern about the phone might be flying out while running and swing the arm to hard.
It doesn't seem to have anything on top of the insertion point to secure the phone. Maybe you have to mod it a little, i dunno.
i wouldn't worry too much their pretty snug i have one for my itouch and it doesn't move at all when you tighten the velcro band around your arm it basically seals itself
Edit: and to save you some money their is also this one http://cgi.ebay.com/Blue-SPORT-ARM-...868534?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item27bc4cb636

I use this:
http://www.amazon.com/Tune-Belt-Incredible-smartphones-protective/dp/B003ZJGZ8O/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt
I used it for my OG EVO and am now using it for my 3D. It works great. It's quite snug, but that's how it should so it doesn't fall out. I haven't noticed any condensation like that one reviewer stated. I've used it for long runs - half marathon, 10ks, etc.
And will I be able to use the touch screen at all through the clear cover on the arm band?
yes, you can use the touch screen through the clear cover

Will it fit a 3VO with a TPU case?
I Don't think so. It must be nude.

I use the old one I had for my EVO 4G and it works fine too. Can't remember where I got it, but it was a snug fit with a flap at the top to stop it from flying out. I'll try to take a picture later.
I bought one of the red ones that OP mentioned and it fits well and haven't had any issues with it at all. The quality I was a little worried about when I bought it but it seems to be pretty decent.

I end up buying one armband for the ATT infuse 4G off ebay for about $7.5 shipped from USA (HK is cheaper but i didn't want to wait that long), I reasoned that since the infuse is both taller and wider (but less thick) a 3VO in TPU case should hopefully fit.
I should get it later this week or early next week, will report then.

Otterbox Defender Plastic Holster crap plastic

I got one of these cases and it's already broken where the clip doubles as a kickstand. Go to put the phone on my belt and the clip catches.. try to unclip and it breaks.. Not only that had the phone fall out of the case already once. I'm returning it.. How can I trust the rest of the case if the holster plastic is not unbreakable plastic? Probably made out of cheap China plastic!
So any recommendations for alternative cases I haven't had this case for more than a week and I'm returning this defective junk case to Radio Shack to get my money back for defective manufacturing!
Wow I have had my defender case since the day the Evo 3D has been released and I have had NO issues with it. That clip you are talking about doesn't work as well as a kick stand as laying the holder upside down on the "clip" that is normally on the top..
It is actually a very durable case and I work in a hostile environment so it would break if it was going to. You must have gotten a bad unit or using it wrong.
Rodney
Agreed. 5 EVO units later and returned my 3D case on the 2nd. Otterbox customer service is also shakey. Some reps are very helpful, others aren't. I will take my buisness otherplaces. Don't just recognize the problem, fix it!

I've also had mine since the day I bought my E3D. No problems here either and I do highway construction! I also have one for my Epic and original Evo. Hands down the best cases I've ever owned. Sorry to hear about your bad luck bro, try returning it for another one. On a side note, I'm on my 4th E3D because of dead pixels and light leakage......LOL!
Just email customer service that its broken and they will send you a new one.
don't forget to bring a towel!
I have one and love it! The case is freaking hard to take apart, i don't see how the phone would have fallen out... especially with the silicone around it too. Anyway, Ballistic has pics on their website and they say coming soon. Keep checking there, or give them your email and they will contact you when available. I had the HC on my Evo4G and LOVED it!!

Short Seidio Active kickstand case review

Short because I'm using my E3D and on low battery. But some kickstand complaints I've read make me want to set the record straight.
I read a few complaints that the kickstand prevents you from using it while charging. Not true, it still supports the phone upside down. It locks into place and rather than using the kickstand as a leg, you can flip the whole phone and use it as a base. Works fine.
As far as the rest of the case goes... I came from the otterbox and boy is the Seidio anorexic by comparison. I don't feel like I can be so careless, but I do love the smaller form factor. The case does feel sturdy enough, but not like the otterbox. I was expecting the hard plastic outer layer to be a bit more stiff also, but it has a little flex to it. This also makes it easy to grip and hold. The outer layer being mostly hard plastic also makes putting this in your pocket much easier than otterbox. The otterbox often pulled my pocket inside out when taking it out.
I've really only had a few hours with this case so far so it really hadn't been put to the test. I do prefer this to the otterbox, despite the obvious downgrade in protection. It still feels sturdy enough for the average person's needs, mine included. I only wish the kickstand version had color options other than black.

My question for you is what if you want to charge and use it at the same time. Does the kickstand work in a way where you cant charge while the kickstand is set?
My first paragraph discussed that. The kickstand locks into place sturdy enough to support the phone from either direction (usb on top or bottom. It was 1 of the first thing I tried because of people's complaints about it.

Getting my 3vo tomorrow. Heres what i bought

Here are the accessories I bought for my 3VO. (coming from OG EVO)
Anti-Glare Screen Protector
Trident Aegis Case
Class 4 16GB SD
Personally have not had a matte screen protector. But I have seen others saying it disrupts the way the 3d works, as in the 3d doesnt look or work as good with that type of screen protector.
I would love to hear your experience with it however.
Get otterbox bruhh I found out the hard way

what's a 3VO, do you mean a EVO 3D?
dont waste your money on an otterbox, invest in a ballistic case and youll be glad you did!
Also the official htc dock is really nice. Fits perfectly (not a mm too small/big), looks neat and even supports MHL (which is also a great thing to have). I don't like cases personally, the back cover is too nice to put something over it. I also don't have a screen protector cuz I always screw up putting it on (yes I tried) . I do have a nice official htc leather pouch (really cheap from eBay. Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-PU-Leat...657502?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1c20fedb5e <-- one downside, doesn't fit perfectly.. top speaker bit is visible..) . Only 1 noticable scratch so far, after about 4 months

I have bought a few cases and docks since I bought my phone almost 2 months ago. after tring a few things and the construction industry I'm in. This is what I bought and seems Like I have dialed in good. I have bought the
Otter Box Defender> http://www.amazon.com/OtterBox-Defender--Hybrid-Holster-Black/dp/B0054JGGB4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322927463&sr=8-1

Took them both back since if I get paint on it it will be hard to get off everyday. Also decided to keep my phone naked.
so I settled on this cheesy pouch this for when I'm painting to cover the phone from overspary and getting knocked around:
http://www.amazon.com/Leather-Prote...54/ref=sr_1_90?ie=UTF8&qid=1322927176&sr=8-90
when I'm home and for the weekends: I have the Seidio non-cased spring cliped holster:
http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Spring-Clip-Holster-Use-Non-Cased/dp/B0057UB4AS/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1322927991&sr=1-1
For the car got the iGrip car dock which is nice:
http://www.amazon.com/iGRIP-PerfektFit-Vehicle-Dock-HTC/dp/B005BHDEMS/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1322928178&sr=1-1
But not as universal and easy to take from car to car as the Exomount:
http://www.amazon.com/MSW-Exogear-Exomount-Universal-Mount/dp/B004Z8ZLOS/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1322928242&sr=1-1
I like the iGrip since it holds the car charger wire firm as not to strain the port in the phone from where I like the suction cup to go and the phone is very easy to put in and take out. The Exomount is nice since the suction cup is one of those sticky kind that will go anywhere, I used to to watch movies in the back seat, stuck to the rear seat which the iGrip might not of stuck to.
Regarding my wifes phone we stayed with the White Platinum case (from bestbuy) with the holster from my black case Platinum combo and she uses it on her purse. I do like the Platinum case but the white one seems to discolor from the sun it looks like
Yeah have the otterbox defender, have no complaints except for the holster. Smart to buy a case for it either way. One scratch is too many!
I agree. I hate scratching my phone. I like the otter but its just to big and thick for me to being carrying around in my pocket especially at work. And I'm not a fan of holsters hahA.

When you have your phone in the Exomount, does it bounce around? I want to get a mount that I can use with my 3vo, or Epic Touch, or any other device that I have.

Couldn't disagree more. Otterbox is hands down the best case. Spend the $50, buy a defender. Protects way better than the Ballistic case, backed by the company and smaller than a ballistic.

Okay, Yes the exomount does have a small ball and its not very stiff. (sounds like a horror movie ha!) If your bouncing around alot the phone does lose it's position and you have to realign it to face you. But that said its very universal and light and easy to just grab when you know you might need it. also its good for anyother device like other ipod touches & smartphones in the family.

However, $50 for a case that will keep your $600 phone safe isn't really an awful investment.

_Outside_ of the Car Mounting

Hi Gals and Guys,
I'm planning a car tour through the Alps this year.
Beside a GoPro HD Cam, I'd like to try to film some of the driving with my Evo3D in 3D.
Filming from within the windshield does not make sense as the reflections of the windshield would mess the result up.
Do you have any idea how to mount the Evo3D very safe outside of the car?
I'm thinking about some kind of magnetic tripods or something like that.
My problem is the holder itself.
Actually my planned solution is to take a Haicom Bike Mount and modify it a little to take place on a professional magnetic mount. But I'm not sure about the reliability.
I don't like to see my Evo3D flying, while taking a corner on a pass a little to sharp
Second Problem: I'm driving a Nissan 350z Roadster. The hood and trunk are made of alloy. So magnetic mounts could be a problem, too...
What would be your solution?
Best case scenario: Go with a GoPro 3D rig. I'm almost certain they don't make a mount, and you'll end up building one that may not work out with best results.
http://gopro.com/hd-hero-accessories/3d-hero-system/
Don't forget to put tape over the mic. It was hurtful on my ears for the first time playing it in the beginning.
The go pro is awesone, although you need 2 cameras and the 3d housing to shoot 3d. As for using the EVO, all the holders I've seen cover the camera lenses
I would use a ballistic case, then mod the holster to take some kind of mount.
One of those suction handles that glaziers use would give you something really solid without marking the paintwork. Like Here
Or for a cheaper option something like this would probably do the job, wouldn't look quite as cool though!
Take the belt clip off the holster and bolt it straight on to the handle.
The holster holds the phone screen inwards so wouldn't cover the lenses. You might need to use some duck tape or better yet a velcro strap just make sure phone doesn't come out, the added dust and bug protection wouldnt hurt either! Just a thought..

well im not sure if you had heard about the trident AMS case for the 3d, but you could check it out.
its a heavy duty case but has some pretty cool features behind it. there is a kickstand on the case but that kickstand can be interchangeable with some attachments like a bike raile clip and a tripod mount. now i was thinking that those two features combined with the duarability of the case you could def whip something up better than ducktape haha. here is the link to the site for the mods and the actual case website.

But, to be honest: I get one GoPro borrowed and I don't think I'll need one on my own that often.

Japp, that's what I think I'm going to make use of. I'll try to find a small version of these and attach a bike holder to that.
But I'll try to add some kind of rope or something, in case the suction gets loose while drifting or so.
