BestBuy sale on HTC Flyer accessories - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Just a heads up to anyone looking for a few accessories for the HTC flyer. Best Buy has the scribe pen for $39, the invisibleSHIELD for $10, and the Rocketfish Leather case for only $15. These prices are taken from their website. If I had not already bought a leather case, I would pick up the rocketfish from them.

Yeah. I got the pen when I bought the Flyer. It was $39 at that time also. Happy they littered the price of the Shield. What they were charging for just the screen protection was more than Zagg was charging online and only $5 less than what Zagg charges for the full body protection, which I got with free shipping. I'm not crazy about the case since there's no space for the pen, but that's definitely not a bad price.
Thanks for the info.

Hi, i cant find/see the rocketfish leather case bestbuy website... can forward me the link?
thanks.

It was on their site originally but I'm guessing they took it down because it was sold out. What' s even more puzzling is I was talking to a Best Buy associate yesterday and he told me that the flyer is discontinued. Of course I didn't really believe him but I checked on their site and saw that not only is the flyer backordered, It is unavailable at every best buy around me in a 100 mile radius. Hopefully he was just full of it.

I went to BB last night and got the Zagg screen protector. That was the last one that they had.. They had the stylus and cases, though.

I have no direct insight into HTCs management decisions, but from having owned several of their products, my opinion is;
Bestbuy is closing the Flyer out, they put it on sale and are not restocking.
This probably means that HTC has declared end of life for the flyer meaning they will not make any more.
I would not be surprised if HTC declares that the Flyer is not getting any software updates because its hardware doesn't support Honeycomb or ICS. That's completely false of course because we all know the hardware will support either, but this is an excuse they have use several times in the past.
I expect HTC to either exit the tablet market or come out with a new line of lesser quality builds at a lower price point.

$32 Pen for Flyer!

I originally purchased the $80 pen from best buy. After finding out that $80 only gets you 4 apps that this is useful with I returned it and got my money back.
I Then went to the Fujitsu website and purchased this Pen for $25 +tax and shipping $32 total
Got it today from fedex. It is almost identical to the HTC PEN except it has 1 button (highlight) and a lanyard. Also comes with an additional tip. It works perfectly with the Flyer. For erasing, I just click the Pen button on the tab and use the eraser there instead of on the pen its self. So You are paying an Extra $48 + Tax for an erase button on the pen. NO Thank you.
Return those Overpriced Pens to Best Buy, Let HTC Know what you think of that waste of money with your Wallets. Buy the Fujitsu pen and don't look back till HTC comes to their Senses and lowers the price.
Oh, you can also attach the lanyard to your case so your pen can't run away if you are inclined. I've got mine on my TPU case at the power hole.
An extra pen would make a perfect Father's Day gift.
Thank you for the info.
It looks like the Fujitsu part number is FPCPN36AP.
I also found it on Amazon (USA) for $33.99 and PC Connection for $23.43 (both plus shipping)
Thanks for the info yo. I was just looking for an alternative pen yesterday and seen this one but didn't know if it worked. Thanks for the confirmation

Nice find, good price
Thanks for the find ordered !
I picked up a few of the Fujitsu stylus pens as backup. The lanyard attachment is nice but "other end" doesn't work very well as a capacitive stylus.
I was under the impression it was Best Buy's decision not to bundle the pen... Hence their logo on the flyer box. Complain to Best Buy...

Never used back of pen as stylus, couldn't stand the metal on tablet issue.
Best Buy, HTC, Don't matter, if the pen were bundled the flyer would be $579. Don't buy the pen for $80, the erase button and metal stylus isn't worth it over the Fujitsu for the price difference. Make HTC/Best Buy Lower the price on the pen with you wallet.

I agree. Gouging the consumer for the one distinctive feature of this tablet sucks. The lower price will come in time. Personally if it weren't for the pen integration, I wouldn't have purchased the Flyer. It was never an option for me to not buy the magic pen.
Having the Fujitsu n-trig option is great backup for me.
BTW - clarification of who's gouging the consumer does matter for press and company profiles. I have to handed it to someone, they understood that price was key to make this device more attractive to first-gen tablet consumers. And that the pen was a "Power-user" premium.
I received the Fujitsu pen today. It is the same exact size as the HTC pen and it works fine on the flyer. And it comes with an extra tip.
Woohoo
HTC Flyer / Tapatalk
Does the fujitsu pen also have the same pressure sensitivity as the htc flyer pen or any pressure sensitivity at all?
Yes it is pressure sensitive. It may be a little better with gauging pressure than the HTC pen...
Great find, I've ordered one myself.
Awesome find but just to also let you know I grabbed the HTC pen from eBay brand new for 30 dollars even shipping was free, was a little skeptical but hey figured I would try. It came in and it is the HTC official pen packaging and all. Just figured i would share.

got one from this seller. no retail packaging but the scribe looks new with no scratches.
I only ask because this scribe is black, and most I've seen that are OEM were definitley silver.
I'm just a bit concerned that this guy might be selling counterfit ones.

The black one is meant to be an accessory for the View. They're the same though, I have both... I also have a UK 3G Flyer that came with the silver Scribe
Allright great! Thanks a lot. I might buy this. It's in my price range. Any problems with using it thus far?
FYI, Best Buy just drop the price on the pen for the flyer, it's now $39.99.

Yep, I just got the hardshell case too when I picked up my Flyer on Saturday. Whenever Otterbox gets a case, I'll buy theirs, but you can't beat the price.
That must be a store specific deal - ours holding tight to top dollar!

Yeah, checking bestbuy.com the price is back to $39.99. Must've been a Saturday only thing, when the dropped the price of the Flyer.
Yeah, went back to 2 BB stores yesterday, the prices had gone up. I was looking at the dates on the price stickers, and apparently these were sale prices a few weeks back from Sept. I was still able to get the lower prices though, no problem.
So yesterday I was in one of the stores and they had the scribe pens located in 2 sections: on the rack underneath the 7" tablet section, and also in the main tablet accessories area. The pens in the main area were on a rack with a sticker that read $79, but in the 7" tablet section, it said $59. The $59 sticker was a sale price from a couple of weeks ago, and it rang up at $79. So I showed the sales guy the $59 sale sticker and he adjusted the price for me, no hassle at all.
So check out that lower rack underneath the 7" tablet section. If they still have the older (expired) sale price sticker on there, then it can't hurt to ask for that price and if the salesperson is cool, they may adjust the price for you.

HTC Scribe Pen price back to $79.99 at BB

I stopped at a Best Buy to grab a Scribe Pen before the holiday rush and found out that the price went back up to $79.99 (previously on sale for $39.99) On the website it shows out of stock and at the increased price as well. I talked with the rep that worked at the Best Buy Mobile store and he said they might decrease the price next weekend for Black Friday.
I tried ordering one from Amazon in bulk packaging (there were only 2 left when I ordered) but now it's showing out of stock. Hopefully I got it in time.
Anyone know where to find a good deal on a Scribe Stylus in case if my order was too late?
There is a seller on Ebay that sell OEM HTC stylus for $29.95.

Yeah I checked out eBay and saw that one. It's definitely an option. I had a $5 credit for Amazon and should be getting a $10 credit for Best Buy soon so I was looking to get the Scribe from them. I just want to make sure I'm not getting a cheap knock off that doesn't work properly.
I saw the black scribe pen, from the jetstream, on Amazon for 29.99...

I purchased the black OEM one from eBay, and it works just fine. Both of the buttons work and frankly I think the black looks better.
That being said, I have never used the silver one. Another thing to note is that the one from eBay doesn't come with a battery. I'm not sure if the BB one does, but I had to go to Radioshack (my BB didn't carry the batteries) and it cost me about 8 dollars for a pack of two.
Ugh, I can't find my stylus. Going crazy looking for it, but I think I'm going to have to buy another one soon. Thanks for the tips on where to possible find cheaper ones.
Noticed that the price was back up when I stopped by Best Buy last night to pick up some Bluetooth headphones. I was going to pick up a stylus also, but decided against it at that price.
Are they nuts at Best Buy (for raising the price just before Black Friday), or could it be a pre-cursor to discounts on the Flyer price which they want to recoup through accessories (whici is SOP for Best Buy - they will try to saddle you with a "high quality HDMI" cable for your new TV for $59-99 when you can get the same quality from a $10 Amazon cable)? Here's hoping for a few more Flyers in the $200 range!!!!!
So very hard to find these buggers in Canada

Sorry, I miscalculated.
The price includes everything.
Pen on Amazon is £34.19 Used
Cover on Amazon is £85 Used
Screen protector is £5 Used
HTC Flyer 32GB 3G on Amazon is £325 Used
So value is £439
That's £80 saving for similar (if you consider scratched or without box etc similar to this)
That sets the price of this Flyer at £245, cheaper than a USED 16GB Flyer.
And as a matter of fact, I have already had much interest from two (different) gentlemen from Nigeria who want this for their sick father's birthday. What a coincidence!

HP TouchPad official case brand new for $7.75

Yea you hear it... Everyone looking to buy the official HP TouchPad case, this seller on ebay is giving it away for $7.75 brand new and will ship it worldwide for cheap.
I bought it from this seller two weeks ago for $15 plus $12 of shipping to Italy and I have just noticed he took the price furthermore down, so I thought I should probably share it with you guys.
This is absolutely the best price eva for the official case.
Hopefully this thread will help someone getting it for a really wicked price.
This is not the leather case, just the cheap sleeve, this sells for $20 or less here.

Oh damn it ... I thought it was the leather case.. Grrr!!! However I got the leather one for $15 brand new.. However its still a good price isnt it??
I've been using a Verizon branded leather tablet sleeve on my Touchpad for a while. They were originally produced for the iPad 1 and there appears to be a huge surplus of them as they have been showing up from various websites for cheap.
