Can i use anysim card if i flash to a custome rom? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hey, i can only use the simcard i buy with my telephone. If i flash my rom to a custome firmware. Can i then use any sim card?

No. Simlocks are not touched by firmware so it will remain locked. The only way to unlock is by contacting your mobile phone operator or by using the paid web services.

[Q] Debranding Orange SGS3

Hi Guys,
Just wondering, do i need to SIM unlock my Orange S3 before i can debrand it? Will the phone still work?
Also i'm assuming the UK stock rom in this thread is what i need to flash via odin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25922341&postcount=2
Thanks
No you don't need to SIM unlock to demand it
I'd personally install CWM Recovery via doin first and then install a flashable zip from the recovery.

it is branded, i got some carrier specific apps, and also the bootlogo of the carrier,a french one( bienvenue or something like that). So it must be sim unlocked if i am using orange...
once you sim unlock the phone, it should not sim relock when you flash a unbranded firmware through odin. I hope i answered your question

[Q] Can I use another sim card in the P769(TMobile)?

Hi,
I have a LG P769 from TMobile, how can I use this phone without a tmobile sim card but from another company like my brazilian sim card?
Can I flash other rom instead of p769? Will it work?
I was reading this topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40691384&postcount=7
here says to unlock bootloader with a P765 first. So, can I stay with this rom?
Thank you.
If it is a prepaid phone the alternative SIM may work. Try putting it in. See what happens. You don't need to unlock the boot loader to unlock SIM. Worst case scenario if it asks for an unlock code, power off the device then either contact T-Mobile if there isn't a contract on the phone to get an unlock code or look up SIM unlock online to get unlocking service.

Thank you for the answer, I input the network unlock code and the phone works with any carrier now.
But how can I remove all the tmobile bloatware this phone has? Can I change it to a international unbranded phone?
Check out the v21b (Canada version) wind mobile. It's a nice clean Rom. So much better than the T-Mobile jelly bean

Root it and download a root unistaller to get rid of the bloatware.

How do I flash this rom? My phone is a p769 10g. Is it easy?
Flash the kdz file or the cwm rooted file in the other post called nandroid backup files in the general area.

why?
i dont care about the warrnty because i will buy it in uk and open it to sim free and use it in other country so the vodafone warrenty no matter.
so if i dont care about the warrenty so no problem to buy it?

Its not about warranty, its about development. You wont be able to unlock bootloader and flash custom roms, if you dont care, then go ahead, there are no other differences, since you can flash generic firmware and get rid of vodafone stuff if you want to.

Christ.. Please pay attention, i wont repeat again. You CANT unlock bootloader, and you CANT flash custom made roms, as in the ones you can find in development section. What you can do, is flash generic sony firmware, basically same vodafone rom just without all vodafone apps and branding.
